Tears fill her eyes and I circle my arm around her shoulders and pull her into me.
/"It's okay,/" I say against her temple.
The girl looks up at me and stares at me. With my other hand, I caress her cheek and she falls into Evelyn.
/"Looks like you bewitched another girl Warren./"
/"Have I bewitched you?/" I tease.
Shaking her head she looks at the sun that's behind the endless line of earth that meets the sky. The canvas of the sky is painted in shades of pink and purple. The colors I'm seeing for the first time. It's always been orange and yellow.
We leave the facility by six and enter a dive bar to have some drinks. A trivia night is going on and before I know Evelyn is yanking me toward it. It's for couples and the price is an expensive red wine.
