22: Met a New Friend

Kim House

Tuesday,

Jennie's Pov,

  8:30 Pm,

"Yes Jeremy I will take care of myself don't worry too much and please focus on work"

He chukled "I am focused baby I just dont want you to hurt your ankle again remember what the doctor said no pressure" he was talking playfully but still with a concerned tone.

"Okay I will "

"Good night baby"

"Good night Jeremy"

I cut the call. It's been a few days since I came back from the hospital my ankle is in good health but still, everyone is worried. I didn't tell mom about it though she would be freaking out if she find out about this. I can't let that happen.

Thinking about Mom I need to visit my parents soon. Even I thought I will visit them after the trip but....this ankle injury came.

"Miss Kim?" I turn around to see Adierson giving a smile which means the dinner is ready.

"Yes coming" I switch off the tv. The crime documentary was still unfinished but I will watch it next time.

I go to the dinner table Where the food was perfectly placed on. Adierson holds the chair for me.

"Thank you Fate" she grin and sit a little far away from me and I know why because a few days ago I almost scared her and said not to touch me .she is doing her best not to invalidate my personal space.

The trip was wholesome for me not only did I almost break my leg which is thanking God end up being an ankle injury. and I lost control over my emotions I came to know a few things after the trip first I realize that being with Adierson can make me lose my shit sometimes and I don't hate her for that I know I said that I hate her but don't.

Having Adierson around is not that bad moreover it's fun she is a nice cook teasing her is entertaining we watch movies together occasionally it's mostly me who forced her to watch but still and dinner well we eat together whenever I don't feel like cooking or I don't night out with Jeremy.

When she told me she liked joey as her sister it gave me the relief I still dont know but I am happy knowing she doesn't have romantic feelings for anyone it's maybe because she is living under my roof im thinking of her as my possession But who cares as long as we are okay everything is okay.

After I finish my food Adierson takes the plate "Fate you don't have to do it you know I can do it myself"

"Miss Kim it's fine and you have to change the badge remember" she can be a mom sometimes

**agh*"fine" I huff but she just laughs "come on Miss Kim you're a grown woman don't behave like a child"

I pout"im not a child" >.<

She just laughs hard her laugh is really sweet it makes me laugh too.

A few minutes later she came back "Miss Kim let me help you?" She asked still standing a little away."fine " I take my hand out she holds my arm gently.

"Tell me if it hurts okay" I nod

She analyzes my ankle carefully takes the old bandage and replaces it with a new one.

"There you go " she smiles

"Thank you Doctor Fate "

She blushed  **Ahmm** " well good night miss Kim"

I smirk she always does this whenever she gets nervous "Good night Adierson"

3 weeks later,

Monday

8:00 Pm,

"Yea, momma I will be there soon "

"Honey came home safely, okay"

"Yes mom yes can I please cut the call so I can move "

"Sure Honey"

Fate's pov,

"You know right you should buy your suppliers  "

"I know I know I will and that's why I'm asking you to come with me so we can go together "

**Smrik** "I Know Fate your falling for me but you know I'm taken "

"Trust me Jerry if you be the last person on this planet I will die alone and single "  Tit for tack Hah!

**Gasps** "Fate! My heart that was harsh " Jerry snorts resting her hand on her chest

"So your coming or not ?"

"Fine fine I'm in but for now let's back to work before Miss Cane fire both of us "

After coming back to New Harrington few things Change like Miss Kim and I well apparently our relationship. it's not that bad we exchange a few talks sometimes which is rear and sometimes she eats the breakfast I make, and we eat Dinner too about the movies she likes to watch horror movies even if she has to cling to me well  that happens just one time but still, that's new

Nonetheless, I'm not hoping for anything else I'm just enjoying every moment we get at last she's not treated as a stranger that's a good sign.

Her injury is also Better now she can walk properly the first few days she has to take rest, I help her sometimes even if she always pushes me away saying "it's fine Adierson I can manage " but as a stubborn person I am,  I never listen to her and help her

Today in the morning she was talking to her parents it's not like I overheard everything they were talking about but few things I know today she will visit them and she will come late 

Hang Kim Mansion

     11:30 Am,

   Jennie's pov,

The home sweet home they say but for me, it's like a house just a bit lifeless house where my father controls everything, even me. After I was born to the Hang Kim family my  Destiny was already written by my father.

My father what can I say about him a ruthless businessman who just cares about his reputation money and himself. He never loved anyone except my mother which is good But still, I never understand why he hides my Mom from the world.

When I was a kid I always wondered why my father never took mom to our family functions, guess I never gonna get the answers.

I still love him though even if he never showed any affection, he used to but that was just when I was a kid.

For now, everything is different. I don't wanna see him but I'm still driving home. I need to pick up Kaya it's been a while since I saw my baby and mom

I rang the doorbell mom will be waiting for me I know, not be a second the door open

"Oh, Honey your finally here !"  I knew it

**Smile** " I am mom aren't you happy "

**Hugs** "I'm so happy honey " mom too tight! Too tight!

"M-MoM t-too -tight-"

"Oh I forget sorry honey come on let's go inside, you know I thought you won't come to meet me this weekend  "

"I know mom I was just busy with the tour and work "

"Busy? Or you were busy with your boyfriend Honey " mom chukled and winked at me

"It's not like that Mom !"

"You know I'm surprised that you didn't end up marrying someone in your drunk State. That day when you were too drunk and called me complaining how you hate Jeremy because you guys couldn't spend your free weekends, I thought you will find someone else " she said and I stop my tracks 'only if she know who I end up with'=_=

"Woah! The mom that's some imagination you got there. You should be a writer or something, anyways where is Kaya ?" I tried to change the topic

"He's in your Dad's office, he loves to be there  " thank God Mom leave the subject

"Oh okay im going to meet him, is Dad also there? "

"No your Dad is not home but he will come before dinner "

I nod and went towards my father's office. As soon as I open the door Kaya run into my arms wagging his tail happily, he licked my face  **Smile** "I miss you too Baby "

"Honey come to eat lunch with me and hang out for a bit it's been a while since we talk, " Mom said from behind

"Yup Mom, let's go, Kaya !"

   5:00 Pm,

Fate's pov,

"Hey! Why don't you call Joey so we can go together " I said to Jerry we are currently walking together for some groceries shopping

"Right! give a sec"

After 20 minutes Joey came "Finally thought you will take forever " Jerry said

"Sorry guys, let's go now !" Joey happily said holding our arms together

"Gosh! I never know why she's so obsessed with colour " Jerry groans holding the bags. Joey runs towards the colour section happily like a kid in a candy store.

"You're asking me I never knew you were so obsessed with ice creams like seriously Jerry Dont you think it's too much," I said pointing at the 20 cups of milk flavour ice cream. She doesn't even like ice cream.

"It's not for me Dumbo it's for you and I get them on sale, I have coupons see," she said holding the yellow coupon 'a woman who loves everything she gets on sale even if she doesn't need them =_='

"Seriously! Don't you even it's for me it's too much "

"Naah if it's too much you can share them with your wife "

I slapped her arm lightly " gosh! Stop saying that Jerry "

"Hey, why did Jo stop there ?"

Huh!' we look at Joey. A guy was trying to flirt with her, seriously boys this day "let's go" I tap Jerry's arm

We stood behind Joey

The guy said "So if you want maybe we can hang out sometimes "

**Ahmm** Ahmm**

"Sorry brother but she's not interested," I said as I wrap my hand around Joey

"Yup she's not, " Jerry said doing the same

The guy gives us a confused look at first but soon he replies " oh I thought you- so you three? Well, that's good you know sorry to bother you. By the way, you guys look really good together !"

Huh?' what is that supposed to mean?

As the guy left Jerry burst into laughing " He thought we three are a couple"

"Seriously! " Joey said as she laughs

Hang Kim Mansion,

8:00 Pm,

Jennie's pov,

"How was your trip ?" Dad asks as he cut the steak and put it on mom's plate

Sometimes I get amused at how gentle he is with mom even though he doesn't take her to our family functions but still he loves her more than anything. He respects her 'strange,' Love is Strange'  '

"It was good.Dad."

"That's good to hear how's your ankle?"  right how can I forget?  My father has eyes everywhere

"What ?! Ankle? Jennie, you didn't mention it?" Mom asks .she calls me by  my name yup! she's angry 'trouble'

"Mom don't worry it wasn't that bad I'm good "

"But still ?"

"Mom I'm good isn't it enough "

**Sigh** "yes it is, but please don't hide anything like that again you know I don't like it". 'Oh! Mom, you don't have any idea what I'm hiding from you!'

"I know mom it won't happen "

Dinner went well as I thought, father didn't ask anything after our small talk. I said my leave to him and mom came outside with me. We stood in front of my car I open the door Kaya run inside  .he seem happy going back.

"Goodbye mom, take care of yourself okay "

"Honey take care of yourself too okay and one more thing next time bring your friend with you too "

'i don't think that it a good idea mom bringing Adierson in Hang Mansion it's not a wise decision '

"Okay. Mom ."

"Did you say bye to your father ?"

"yes. I did."

"Jennie I know you don't see your father as a good Dad but give yourself a chance to see his side too"

'I did give him mom but he. He just always ruins everything. If he just for one sec talk to me like his daughter maybe I can give myself a chance '

**Sigh** "I will momma"

"Jennie you always think that your destiny is written by your Father but -" she holds my hand and gently cares about it and said " you can always make your path, your decision and your behaviour will always lead you towards your destiny. Your destiny is always in your own hands and no one can take that from you.

"I know mom  and I'm glad that you are in my destiny too "

**Smile** "now don't wait any longer and go home take rest it's already 10 Arasso !"

"Arasso! Mom  see ya"

I waved my hand and close the door "let's go, Kaya "

10:30 Pm

When I reached my House it was unusually quiet.

I open the door and Kaya runs inside the house **chukled ** " slow down Buddy " Adierson is not home yet should I call her 'Maybe first I need to change '.

After I change my clothes Kaya and I .we were in the living room when we heard the door open 'she's here '! since she is the only one who has the spare key. But still, I get up just to make sure it was her.

Yup! She's Home ."Where have you been Adierson " she startled by my voice

"Jesus! Miss Kim, I thought someone broke in !"

**Smile** "Gosh Adierson you should see your Face " she laughed lightly

"Oh come on Miss Kim your teasing me now "

"I was saying the fact you know " we both laugh

**Wooff** oh right Kaya!

Kaya runs to me. I saw how  Adierson's face lit up when she saw Kaya she drops the bags she was holding and kneel to him.

"Kai?-' Kaya"

Adierson put her hand on Kaya's head and cares gently. Which is rare Kaya doesn't like when a stranger gets closer to him. Kaya let Adierson pet him and lick her cheeks showing his affection.  "Oh Kaya did you eat " **wooff**

"He did Fate "

Adierson looks at me and smiles "he's pretty handsome Miss Kim "

"Yup! How do you like to meet a new friend "

"I love him "

**Smile**  "that's good to hear "

KIM House

1:00 Am,

Fate's pov,

"But she's just a little girl Detective, those foster homes will just destroy her childhood more!"

"Miss Lee I know you're worried about her but please appreciate the rules the child needs to go to the foster homes you can't adopt her " The officer Mr Haught calmly said

"I know I can't adopt her but look at her she needs a family she just save herself from a monster !" The woman Miss Lee looks at me and said "she needs love and care Don't you think she will get nightmares of her father and her past, those bruises on her hands screaming the brutality of the monster? She's too young for all of these!"

The officer took a deep breath "Miss Lee I know I said you can't adopt her but she can live with your family "

"Really?! How ?"

"Why don't you negotiate with the chief councillor out about the Fate Adierson case? I know my Lord informed the jury already that she is innocent so you don't need to worry about her going to prison "

"They would let her live with us, not in Foster Homes "? The woman asks again

"Yes maybe you have to talk to them if the chief councillor said Fate Adierson can't live with your family then I can't help Miss Lee. Moreover, I think they would ask Miss Adierson about staying with your family but still as she is underage so yes she has to go to Foster Homes for a few years after that she can stay with your family if she wants."

The lady sigh in relief and came in front of me and knelt. She gently tries to hold my hand but I take it back She smiles and looks at me with warm eyes. "Hello there little one I'm Sera Lee and you are ?" She asks holding out her hand

"Fate ."  I utter

"Fate would like to come with me ?"

"No!"

"Why? "

"H-He w-will c-come t-o get M-e"  I sob "oh Dear" She cradles me and pat my back slowly  "sshh..' it's okay your okay He won't come again, He will never. Your Safe "

'Safe' i doubt that he always finds me. But her soothing voice of her calms my nerves. I close my eyes letting my body fill the tenderness of a stranger

"Let's go 'Home' together Fate"

"Home?"

"Yes Home let's go " she gently hold my hand

'Home' is a haven, a place to live with your family, A place to build memories, and a place where we can be ourselves. 'Home' that I never had after mom died.

The two girls analyze me. I don't like when people look at me with the look

"Fate," the man beside Miss Lee said my name "I'm Charlie  Lee Sera's husband it's nice to meet you "

I carefully watch Miss Lee who gave a smile "Hello I'm Fate it's nice to meet you all " I said Bowing

"Why does she have so many scars mom on her hand ?"

"Because she's a Warrior Joey, a Brave warrior just like you ."

"W-warrior wow " the girl came closer to me and looks at my scars curiously. The girl name Joey attempt to hold my arm for a better look and I flinch at the skin contact. Miss Lee stops Joey "Joey dear don't touch her like that!"

"But mom?"

"Joey Dear if you want to hold her hand you have to be her friend first okay " Miss Lee explain.

"I Don't Like Her Aunt Lee she should be at the child care or somewhere else. Why she is in our home?  !"  the other girl said.

" Youngseo Jerry lee she is going to live with us she is our family now so be good to her! " Miss Lee said firmly her tone was calm but not pleasant

The girl glared at me "she doesn't belong here " she storm out of the room. Right, I don't belong anywhere that's what He said to me "you think you can just go anywhere you want. No one in this world wants you. You don't deserve love or care and that's shit. I am the only one who you have and im the only one who will want you! "  No don't think about him. He won't come back

I finished my sketch of the flowers they were blooming beautifully at sunrise. I don't have colours with me, I don't want to ask Miss Lee about getting me new ones.

I saw Joey coming into my sight, the hair of her head combed on both sides, and smiling at me. holding her sketchbook close to her chest. Before I could say something she already sat beside me and watch my sketch thoroughly. she does it sometimes so it's not new to me.

"Hey do like to draw too?" I nod.

"Do you want to draw with me "? I nod.

"then can we be friends"?  she pleads

"Sure."

"You already know my name but I want to introduce myself I am Joey"

"I'm Fate"

"I know you're the w-warrior just like me " 

Just like her? "you're a warrior too?"

"Y-YEs, see these marks," she said showing me the blade line that is in her Near the knees of her feet

I look at it, it's almost like the ones that I have on my back but the difference is I have more than this "who did this?" Amuse by how someone can have something that I have

She smile and said "my old mom punish me one day but my new mom never punish me"

"Old mom?"

"Yes My new mom who brings you here" 

"Do you love your new mom ?" I ask

She gave me her chubby smile showing her white teeth "Yes"

We were drawing peacefully but we heard some kids laughing from a distance. Joey looks in the direction of "JErRY!"  She screams

Jerry? the kids who were  laughing at her . he  reminds me of someone 'Tommy' i go to them Joey followed me

"Hey! Don't laugh at her !"

"Ohh look the new girl is here to save Jerry. Jerry is she's your babysitter now !" All of them laugh and Jerry frowned at me and said " what are you doing here leave !" I didn't listen to her I hold her arm and help her up she hissed in pain. I carefully look at her arm.

Blood.

The kid hurt her she was bleeding.  I get in front of the kid he was still laughing but I didn't let him have fun for long.

He groans in pain when my fist meets his jaw I punch him. He falls to the ground but soon enough his fist meets my nose the other kids start cheering Jerry holds my arm but I slap it away

"WHAT THE HELL IS Happing HERe?"! Miss Lee runs towards us.

"Fate, Andrew two of you your room NOW! !"

"B-but M-MoM it wasn't Fate's fault! It was he-'

"Youngseo Jerry Lee don't make me repeat !" She warns

Staying in the room wasn't bad afterall it was better than storerooms. Someone opens me and I found Joey and Jerry Holding Books.

"Hey sista look what I brought for you," Joey said handing me the picture storybooks.

"Hey, can I sit here ?" Jerry asked.

"Hmm"   I nodded and didn't look at her

"You don't talk?"

, "Hmm"  I nod.

"Do you like to hear c"?

"No"

"Oh"

"Do you like to play"?

"No".

"Aha".

"Then do you like books "?

"Yes". Obviously can't she see that? Strange people.

"Then we can be friends and It's fine if you don't talk my mother used to say I talk very much so I can talk for both of us"  used to?

"Yes Aunt Lee said mom is with God she's there for rest  "

"Oh ."

"I'm sorry," Jerry said. Yes she should be though

"Why?"

"You get hurt cause of me .why you do that Andrew always bullies me anyway ".He won't again.

"Family"

She looks at me confusedly "what?"

"Miss Lee said, Emily. You are in the family. So your family too. I can't let hurt Family " Never this only thing I have now.

"I'm Youngseo Jerry Lee The eldest among the Lee family You can call me Jerry  "

"Fate Adierson ."

"Hey! Fate sista look at this picture it just looks like Jerry,  "  Joey said showing us the picture book   .it was a  donkeys picture

"Yes it is, "I said to Joey and I laugh

"Hey!" Jerry pouts but laughs too

      2:30 Am,

On the living room couch, I found Kaya sleeping peacefully. I must admit when I saw him first he remind me of 'KAI' but then again he's not him But he is charming though and smells like his owner  

I sat beside him 'guess it's his favourite place too'.

I close my let my body fall on the couch fully.
