Chapter 21

In the future I would definitely make use of the Temporary Contract, so I didn't regret buying it. But, I was really looking forward to the mystery egg. Phoebe currently has two pets, one being at apprentice grade. While I still had one, don't get me wrong Freyja is great, but who doesn't need help.

GROWL

"Well I guess maybe we should actually use the time the store is closed, to go get food. Plus we could look around for a little bit," I offered to Phoebe after feeling my stomach growl.

"Okay, I haven't really been outside the store since we arrived. I'm curious where we are,"

We exited the store and began walking around. I still had the 3 gold, from outside the store, that I had stolen from Kane; I planned only to use this gold. After all, with the energy in the store, we had a way to help ourselves like never before. Of course, I didn't feel safe walking just me and Phoebe, so I brought Freyja along as back up. Bagheera Iglif and the two others were still training.

It wasn't uncommon walking through the street with a pet, so not to many seemed to care. Of course, that excluded children who always seem interested. They would all point and giggle, while looking at Freyja walking with Phoebe and I. We ended up stopping at a cart that sold teriyaki sticks for 2 bronze coins each. Phoebe and I split five and grabbed the change, while we returned to the store. On our way I decided to stop at the herb store I had gotten the Fire Lily at.

"Hello," I decided to call out for the owner.

"Hey, you again… you have any more mana cores with you?!" The owner looks expectantly at me from around the corner. "You really should buy some clothes you guys smell terrible," She further added.

"We actually own a store ourselves… and yes we sell mana cores there. They're only 10 gold apiece," I decided advertisement never hurt. "Wait… those kids that kept pointing and giggling on our way here… were they laughing at us?" I couldn't help thinking about this, when the store owner mentioned our clothes.

"You own a store? And you wear these clothes? Why wouldn't those kids laugh at you? I'm sure a lot of people think you're a scammer," She shook her head at this, "Anyway, my name is Mazy, I'll be sure to stop by your store when I have time. Where is it?"

Phoebe and I both looked at each other, "Umm… that way," I pointed down the street unsure what the roads were called.

"Okay… what does it look like? What's it called?" she further asked.

"Umm… why don't we show you?" I decided this was the best way to fix this situation. Honestly, I hadn't spent any time looking at the outside of our store. I also didn't know the name of it. Overall, I was a terrible store owner.

"I guess it is pretty slow right now, give me a minute and I'll come with you. But, we're stopping to get you both clothes on the way," She quickly walked to the back of the store.

"Do you think we really look that bad?" Phoebe asked while smelling her clothes.

"Ehh I guess we have money now, might as well get some good clothes,"

I stooped down and started playing with Freyja. Her fur was all white and soft like a cloud. Placing my hand on her fur, really outlined how dirty I was. In fact, as I was petting Freyja, her fur started to get darker. "We should probably get ourselves cleaned up," Freyja tilted her head at me, then she sat down and began licking me. "that's not what I meant when I said clean," I couldn't help voicing, as I was now covered in spit.

"Okay, I'm ready. Lead the way," Mazy appeared with a small backpack.

We walked out of the building and began walking back to our store, with Mazy close behind us. We stopped on the way and walked into a clothing store. Lucky for us, stores had restrooms with showers, due to the large amount of people who had to travel through the wilderness. We both took a shower in separate restrooms, and bought a pair of clothes each and arrived at our store.

The outside of our store was really bland. The only noticeable feature was the statues on each side. Just like the inside of the store, the outside was lined with statues on either side. On the left facing in was a statue of Freyja, while on the right were statues of Bagheera and Iglif. They were extremely lifelike, and exuded an aura as if ready to pounce.

"So this is your store?" Mazy looked around at the store and finally, stopped on the statue of Freyja. "Is that your wolf?" She asked while looking at the statue and then at Freyja beside us.

"Yes, and the opposite side are the statues of my sister Phoebe's pets,"

We then proceeded to enter the store, as I flipped the sign displaying the store as open. Mazy walked around for a bit and closely observed each of the beast parts. Finally, her eyes, like many others, stopped on the potions. "These effects… is what is written true?!"

"Yes, my sister specially made them early this morning," I answered back, finding no reason to hide who made the potion.

"That's why you needed the Fire Lily?!"

"Yep… so are you interested in buying anything?"

"Yes! I'll buy both the magic potions, 5 bundles of twigs, the green mana core, and five Tree Ent Mana Cores,"

"…" Phoebe and I were both shocked, "I'll grab it right away,"

I quickly grabbed everything she had requested and brought it to the counter. She took out 150 gold pieces and quickly bought everything. "Thank you for coming, please come again,"

And with that Mazy left and I was 5 energy away from completing one of my quests. I currently have two quests. One being to obtain 50 energy in the store, while the other was to successfully train the two customer pets.

Throughout the day we had the occasional customer walk in, and upon noticing the prices they quickly left. We didn't get anymore sales, until finally the girls arrived. That's right the same girls who thought I was a scammer and were expecting their pets back today, ready to report me soon after. I was excited to show them what this store could do.
