Chapter 19

The sun was shining through the window, onto my face, awakening me from my colorful dream. As we didn't have a home, Phoebe and I had simply slept on the floor in the main hall of the store. We were both used to this feeling, as we had lived in an alley for so long. Honestly, it felt better than usual as the smell, temperature, and water were all gone. We were, simply put, comfortable.

I got up and decided to check the two customer pets before opening the store. I was actually pretty curious what results the environment would bring.

I first checked on Mozilla, in the Volcano plot. Luckily, upon opening the door, I noticed a bell which when rung, would attract any animals in that room to my location. I soon found the little fox, with the bells help, and inspected it

{Mozilla:

Breed: Fire Fox

Level: 6

Stats:

Health: 60

Stamina: 5

Agility: 8

Speed: 7

Strength: 6

Intelligence: 9

Skills:

Fire Claw, Dash, Bite, Flame Aura}

'Well… that's way better than I was expecting,' I thought in my head. Not only had the fox leveled up twice but, it also learned a new skill. To top it off, the skill it learned was a territory type one. This meant that with flame aura, the surroundings would be hotter and constantly cause damage to any beasts susceptible to flame attacks. It was a great skill, if the owner still wasn't satisfied even with the level increase only being at six, she was hoping for to much. Unfortunately, to get the reward from the system, I had to level it to eight.

Next I walked to the room with the waterfall. It was currently responsible for the cultivation of the Water Turtle. I rang the bell as I had previously and waited. After waiting for a few minutes I rang the bell again.

"…" I couldn't help being impatient as I waited over five minutes for this turtle. 'It really is extremely slow,'

Finally, I noticed the turtle nearing me and decided to meet it half way.

"…"

Okay... I decided to meet it more than half way. I walked to the turtle and inspected when I was close enough.

{Morla:

Stamina: 3

Agility: 1

Turtle Defense, Water Stream}

"…"

'How lazy is this turtle,' I honestly felt exasperated. This turtle only leveled up once, none of its stats improved outside health, and instead of learning a skill… it fixed the one that should have been water stream in the first place. Originally, the turtle knew spit stream, not even using its water attribute. Now that it upgraded to finally use it, I doubted the system would count it as learning a new skill; as it just improved a previous one.

I really needed to make some money to take this turtle to a cultivation realm to help it improve quickly. I was really interested in that Apprentice Body Cultivation Method. A body cultivation technique could improve your bodies defenses. If I were to fight normally, I couldn't resist any attacks… with this method though my defenses should greatly improve; the amount was still unknown.

I still wanted to check one thing before officially opening the store though. I walked to the side room and entered the greenhouse.

"Bell… How are you? I'm sorry I haven't come in here in a bit, could I ask your help with something?"

"Of course My Lord what is it?"

I decided to ignore the "My Lord" for now, "I have two pets that need help improving their levels, and skills, do you think you could help?"

"Of course! I actually know many ways to help them! I am one with nature and can actually use my techniques to heal them while working on their fighting techniques! If you want I can help train your Wolf and Lady Phoebe's Jaguar?" She seemed excited at having something to do.

"That would be a great help… actually, now that you mention it, do you know how to improve Freyja's and Bagheera's grades?"

"Hmm… There are ways, but it can't be done over night. In addition, you'll need some potions, pills, or ingredients to help them along the way. But, having their levels up to 10 can help them greatly in the process,"

"I'll have to trouble you then," I lowered my head and thanked her for the help as I led her to the plots in the back room.

After leaving her there I walked to the front of the store, ready to open it for the day. Luckily, Phoebe had woken up sometime in the process, allowing me to avoid the demon that was my sleepy sister. I flipped the sign and unlocked the door as I expectantly awaited the flood of customers.

"…"

Yep, just as busy as yesterday. I was just hoping someone would come in soon, as I needed the money desperately.

Finally, around eleven in the morning someone came in. It happened to be the same guy from the previous day. He had his ghoul next to him and a smile on his face as he approached me at the counter.

"So it turns out your store is a hidden gem. What services do you guys offer?" He asked after noticing Phoebe lazily sitting next to me.

"Well, we just took in a shipment of potions, and we offer pet training for any pet of novice grade below level 10," I responded with a bright smile.

"How much does the training cost?"

"It's 50 gold per pet and they'll be returned after one day,"

"…" His jaw dropped at the ridiculous scam I had tried to sell him.

"Are you sure you mean gold… and only one day?" He quickly regained his composure and asked me, his smile now gone.

"It is gold and only one day is necessary, its a worthy purchase if you're willing," I tried to convince him.

"I'll just buy a Draugr heart then," he said much quieter than when he had arrived. As he started fishing out the coins he noticed the shelfs behind us. "Are these descriptions for real?!"

"All the potions are of great quality, you can trust the description stated," I couldn't help smiling inwardly as he noticed this expensive product.

After deliberating for a few moments, he decided to take out a few more coins; 50 being a few. "I'll try the stamina potion for now then," He handed us the 60 gold coins as I handed back the potion and heart.

"Please come again," I smiled as he left the store.

'We currently have 17 energy, if we can sell the Apprentice potion, we'll directly have enough for the temporary contract method, and the expense for the teleportation. We might just be able to do it,'

Not long after he left another customer arrived. It was a young girl and a man with an intense aura surrounding him. "Excuse me, I'd like to buy that potion please," the young girl pointed to the health potion behind me.

"!!!" My mouth dropped, I had just been thinking how I wanted to sell that then immediately after someone comes to buy it.

"Of course little one, but first your dad will have to pay for it," I responded happily.

"What!" the little girl was shaking as her face grew red, "Did you just call me little?!"

"I'm sorry, I meant no offense I just meant that your dad needed to pay the proper price," Obviously, I wasn't going to continue to call her little if I knew she didn't like it. After all it was usually the fathers daughter, who convinced their rich dad to spend exorbitant amounts of money.

"This is not my father! I am an adult, I came here in patronage… and now, I've been treated so poorly,"

"I'm so sorry, I meant no offense please forgive my stupidity," I knew how to be humble when needed, and as long as she was willing to pay, I was a worthless employee.

"Fine, I'll forgive you, in return I want a discount. I'll pay 50 gold for your healing potion,"

'This was gonna be a tricky customer'
