Chapter 17

"Sure why not give me an impossible quest?" I asked sarcastically. Raising the pets to level 8 would already be extremely difficult. To top it off, I also had to teach them a new skill. Freyja had barely made it to level 5, out of the entire time we were in the Forest of Mist. This would definitely be a difficult task.

I started out by checking the current stats of both pets

{Mozilla:

Breed: Fire Fox

Level: 4

Stats:

Health: 40

Stamina: 4

Agility: 6

Speed: 5

Strength: 4

Intelligence: 6

Skills:

Fire Claw, Dash, Bite}

It was nothing special, but it was to be expected, although I was curious about one thing, "When I look at Freyja's stats and information, there is an Available stat point section (even when it's at zero), so why is that not included with Mozilla?"

{Available stat points is a selection only available to two hosts including Phoebe and Alaric, other pets will have to progress in levels and stats at a slower pace}

"That seems to be a bit overpowered! If I level Freyja up to level 6, she'd be equivalent in stat points to another novice pet level 7"

I decided to close the store, then I checked the water turtles stats.

{Morla:

Breed: Water Turtle

Level: 3

Stats:

Health: 60

Stamina: 3

Agility: 1

Speed: 1

Strength: 2

Intelligence: 3

Skills:

Turtle Defense, Spit Stream

"…"

"I guess I know why they were willing to leave their pets here, despite thinking I was a scammer," honestly, the fox wasn't horrible but, the turtle still hadn't learned to use its water attribute; instead it just spit. It was basically a terrible attacker with an impenetrable defense. Only problem, in a fight beasts could choose to just ignore this slow tank and attack any of its comrades. The turtle would be my focus in the strengthening.

I brought both of the beasts to the back room with the portal. "Now only one problem… if they die while cultivating in a dangerous area, they will really die,"

{Host can buy a temporary contract method from system store; it will increase beasts likelihood of listening to you, while also giving them the same privilege, of coming back to life in a cultivation area, as your pets}

"Okay open the system store,"

{Store:

Temporary Contract Technique: When beasts are left with you to train, you can form a temporary contract with them in which they follow your orders (with some exceptions), as well as experience host revive in cultivation worlds

Cost: 25 energy

Mystery Pet Egg: A random pet egg, it could be an all powerful dragon, a weak snail, or it could not hatch at all. This egg contains a random pet with a random chance of hatching (Pet is not limited to Oviparous species).

Cost: 15 energy

Host Shop Upgrade: Of coarse this can't be the final form of the hosts shop. You don't have egg incubation, a Blacksmith, or a Runesmith (among other things). Upgrade shop to unlock new facilities and upgrade system functions.

Cost: 100 energy}

"I thought you said I could buy the contract technique?"

{Of course host has option to buy all things in system store (upon obtaining enough energy)}

"…" I was flabbergasted at Jericho's deliberate information withholding. "I guess I have to stick with the less effective method for now then," I walked towards the four plots at the back of the room.

I first walked to the Volcano room. On the back wall were four doors, each had a screen next to them, which had the environment inside displayed on them. The first door was the volcano room. I opened the door and stepped inside, as I felt a heat wave assault me. Looking around I noticed that instead of being in a room, it was more like I teleported directly to an area with an active volcano. There was molten rock everywhere, with sparse trees. The few trees that were there, were all pitch black. Along the side of the Volcano was a long stream of lava flowing into a lava pool at the base of the Volcano. I directly placed the Fire Fox near the volcano and left.

As I stepped out, I noticed my shirt was hard and crusty. I had been sweating so profusely that my shirt should have been soaked, but due to the heat, it had directly dried; leaving it in its now crusty state. Rather than immediately changing my shirt, I decided to first bring the turtle to the fourth door.

Upon stepping inside, I felt the humid air that was behind this door. It was roughly 75 degrees Fahrenheit (23.8 degrees Celsius), there was a large mountain covered in a few bushes and trees, with a waterfall coming down the side of the mountain and falling into a small clear pond. I placed the turtle under the waterfall and had it remain there. I hoped that with the falling water it could increase its resistance slightly more.

Now I just need to make more energy, so I can take them to a cultivation world and have them both improve, and learn a new skill. Luckily, the quest gave me 24 hours, so if I can make enough money tomorrow, I should be able to buy the temporary contract technique and close "for lunch".

Just as I got ready to call it a day, Phoebe exited the Potion Hall with a smile on her face. This would definitely help us to earn a bit more money.

Oviparous meaning animals that lay eggs
