Chapter 12

The shelves now had a jar with two Draugr eyes (which closely resembled two red beads), a jar with a Draugr heart, and a ring of unknown use. As I moved closer to inspect the ring the system helped once again.

{Ring of the Undead Draugr: Increases strength of undead type monsters by 3 while increasing intelligence by 1} [Value: 25 gold]

"Wait I can inspect things?!"

{Host Alaric is asked to refrain from asking stupid questions}

"Can I inspect Freyja?" I couldn't help asking as I moved towards Freyja.

{Freyja:

Breed: Dire Wolf

Level: 5

Stats:

Health: 50

Stamina: 6

Agility: 6

Speed: 6

Strength: 5

Intelligence: 7

Available Stat Points: (4)

Skills:

Illusory Claw, Howl of Bravery, Illusory Pack of the Dire Wolf}

"This is incredible and I can choose where to put some stat points?"

{Where would Host Alaric like to place 4 available stat points?}

"Okay… well overall I think making it a more balanced wolf, could help a lot. I choose two points in strength, one point in stamina, and one point in speed,"

Well this did distract me a bit, from what I was originally planning to do. I had collected 5 Draugr corpses total, leaving four still in my inventory. In addition, I had twelve Tree Ents in my inventory taking up three slots. I had five Skeletons and five Zombies, as I wasn't sure of their bodies uses so i figured fully using one slot was best. Finally, I had one slot for the Wood Ape, who I was particularly excited to dissect.

I removed all the bodies from my inventory as the familiar notification popped up again

{Would host like to display usable parts for sale in shop?}

"Yes," I responded as the bodies disappeared quickly, and reappeared on the shelves in glass bottles. Weirdly, none of the repetitive items were displayed on the shelves. As I inspected the shelves, I couldn't help admiring Jericho's versatility. The Skeletons were relatively useless in parts, leaving only one bone each which could be used as a special ingredient; at the price of 2 gold. The Zombies left their green eyes and their brains; priced at 2 gold and 4 gold respectively. The Tree Ents left their Mana Core, a bundle of twigs, and a vine each; priced at 5 gold, 2 gold, and 4 gold respectively.

A Mana Core is a valuable item that forms in many beasts, with high capability towards magic. It can be used as an ingredient while forging weapons or armor, giving them magic capabilities.

Finally, there was the one beast I wanted to see most, the Wood Ape. It had left quite a few pieces for me to sell. It left a green Mana Core, a set of hide, a vial of blood, its skull, and its brain. They were priced a bit better than the rest, at 15 gold, 8 gold, 10 gold, 5 gold, and 4 gold respectively. Overall, the trip to the Forest of Mist was a success in my book. The only ingredients I had yet to inspect were the Draugr's. So I decided to finish it off by inspecting the eyes followed by the heart. They were priced a bit higher than I expected at 8 gold for the eyes and 10 gold for the heart.

In conclusion, at the price of 2 energy, I was able to earn a value of 329 gold; which roughly translates to 32 energy. Of coarse, all these measurements aren't including the potions Phoebe will be able to make, using the herbs we gathered. Which reminds me, I need to buy a fire lily.

I decided to head out of the store, while I was waiting for Phoebe to return. This was actually my first time since arriving, physically stepping out of the store. It was a bustling street with the occasional person stopping to look at our store. Unfortunately, the store was pretty shabby on the outside. The street was full of vendors, selling various goods, as well as people quickly buying them. Most of these street vendors didn't have anything to valuable to sell but, occasionally you could get lucky with a vendor who under priced their goods.

Behind the street vendors, on the side of the street, were various stores selling more valuable and consistent materials. They were also more reliable, as if they were caught selling fake goods their store could be shut down, and they would be forced to pay a heavy fee.

After walking for a few minutes, I found a store with a few plants visible from the outside. I walked towards the entrance, as people looked at me in disgust. Just outside of the store someone stopped me. "Hey you… Stop there, there is nothing for you to steal here. Just be on your way, or i'll call the guards!"

I turned to the side, where a slim young lady, around 16-22 years old, sorry I'm not the best at judging girls ages. She had long brown hair which was down to her knees, and a slightly worried look covered her face. "Why do you assume I'm here to steal? I was on my way here in hopes of buying a Fire Lily,"

"I'm… Sorry?. I saw your clothes, which are torn, and assumed you were a beggar. All customers are welcome as long as they can pay," She responded with a cheery smile.

"How much will it cost to buy a Fire Lily?"

"It really doesn't have to many uses, so I'll sell it to you for 10 gold pieces,"

"Well… about that, I have 3 gold pieces on me. But, I was hoping you might be willing to except a trade instead," I asked pleadingly

"So you are a beggar, look I've got nothing against you, but unless whatever you have is worth more than the 10 gold I asked for I can't except it without taking a loss,"

"It should be worth a bit more than ten gold," I responded as I took one of the Tree Ent mana cores I had taken from the store.

"Is that a Mana Core?!" she quickly exclaimed

"Yes?" I wasn't sure why she seemed so excited. Sure my store would sell them for 5 gold, which should be a minor loss. Normally, I'd assume, they could sell for around 15 gold.

"I'll take it! Let me go grab the Fire Lily!" she ran into the store before I could respond.

A few moments later the exchange was complete, with me and my Fire Lily, while she had the Mana Core. "Please feel free to come again!" her mood had flipped a lot with this visit, but overall she didn't seem to be a bad person. I might just come again if I ever need a plant.

As I returned to the store I checked the portal to see if Phoebe had returned. Unfortunately, it was still purple, meaning she was still in there. So, I turned around and walked towards the greenhouse; it was time to plant my first crop.
