Intransigent

It takes a while for them to get to a dimly lit room, with a desk in the middle. What attracted their attention is a jade box shining in light green.

It seems exactly like some treasure in a traditional cultivation fiction. Mian rolled his eyes and soon got bored.

'Finally, I can get that back!' That guy looks so excited. He cut Mian's palm again and forced him put his hand on the green box.

Again?! That's additional service! Mian shout in his mind.

Anyway, Mian is not in the position to fight back. So he surrender, again.

A nearly transparent smoke rises from the jade box, and an old man starts talking.

'Who wakes me up?'

'Me, Jie,' the guy releases Mian and replies. Now his attention is totally attracted by the voice.

Mian seizes this opportunity and tiptoes away. This is the best timing to run.

It's dark outside. Mian makes his way noiselessly to the way they came from, showing no interest to the jade box, strange voice, and Jie.

Who would be so foolish to stay there? Apparently not Mian. He never developed any curiosity towards treasure or other issue related to cultivation. No way. Not even a penny to him. Who cares the jade box. So suspicious. Maybe the sect leader would. But that's not Mian should worry about. It's all other's problem.
