Am I Selling out? Superman: The Movie

2007 - Smallville, Kansas - Kent Farm

With the incredible popularity of Superman, merchandising has taken off. The Justice League LLC. has obtained the copyright to Superman and other superheroes in the Justice League. This is just to prevent people abusing the rights and ripping off fans. The Justice League partnered with toy companies, clothing companies, and others to create official merchandise. All profits go to help fund the Justice League's operations and a good portion go to charitable organizations I wanted to highlight such as women's shelters for victims of domestic violence, homeless shelters, Second Chance organizations that help people transition after leaving prison, youth groups, and other worthy ventures. It's estimated that merchandising can bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in sales per year.

Kids on the street were wearing the iconic Superman "S" t-shirt and buying Superman action figures, buying capes, etc.

Due to Superman eclipsing the fictional Warrior Angel, the movie company that was currently producing the Warrior Angel film has switched production to a Superman film. In an agreement with the production company, the Justice League will receive 5% of box office receipts for the film and the $20 million dollar salary for the leading role will also go to the Justice League.

Oh yeah, the starring role? It's me. Now, you must be thinking I'm crazy for deciding to agree to do this movie. Especially considering the filming location of the Kent Farm for the civilian life of Superman, but I figured if Smallville canon, the filming location for Warrior Angel was the Kent Farm and it didn't cause much trouble, I don't think I'll have too much to worry about. Besides, the host of the filming location also gets a check. I'll be using that money to renovate my bathroom and kitchen - granite countertops, granite backsplash, and a new deluxe shower don't come cheap. On second thought, it's a really cocky move to choose my own farm as a filming location. I'm hoping it's just so obvious that if anyone even looks into the Kents, they'll think there's no way Clark Kent is Superman because why would he choose his own home as a shooting location; is he retarded?

My parents are in D.C., the nation's capital, since my father was elected U.S. Senator for the state of Kansas; the previous Senator resigned in disgrace when his many scandals came to light (exposed by Kelex). Martha Kent went with him to D.C. and often uses a private jet to tend to business for Kent Farms and our other businesses we own.

Back to the acting thing: I studied acting theory and used my abilities to adopt the skills of a trained actor. I helped write the script and named the civilian identity of Superman as Peter Parker (hilarious, right?). I do all of my own stunts, obviously. They've decided to go really BIG with the special effects, considering I can't get hurt, so everything is going to look really impressive. I've joined the film as executive producer and made the executive decision to film the movie using the James Cameron-style 3D cameras that he used for the Avatar film. I have the remarkable foresight to see that this can be a smash if people have a reason to see the film. Even as big a star as Superman is, it still needs a way to bring in people that aren't big fans of Superman or don't care about superheroes, so the futuristic 3D cameras are the gimmick we need.

The story is pretty much the same: a baby is sent in a spaceship to Earth before Krypton blows up. The baby lands in Greendale, Kansas (fictional city) and is taken in by Benjamin and May Parker. They live on a farm and May is a school teacher. May Parker became interested in teaching when she initially decided she would homeschool their adopted child, but ended up figuring that her son needed to be exposed to kids his own age. So she finished her schooling and became an elementary school teacher to help keep an eye on her son. She and her husband helped train him in using his abilities. The story then goes on to tell the canon story of Smallville with meteor rocks infecting the town and Lex Luthor is instead Harry Osborne and his father is Norman Osborne instead of Lionel Luthor. The movie is a little long at nearly 3 and a half hours, but so was Avatar. It's a big gamble, but I'm hoping it pays off. Oliver Queen and I are both investors in the film because we think it will be a hit.

The main plot is the threat of the Osbornes and their experiments. Norman Osborne invents a serum created from meteor rock which changes his personality and gives him superpowers. He turns into the Green Goblin, creating a mechanical suit that's powered by meteor rock to weaken Superman. Superman ends up fashioning an armor out of lead to block the radiation's effects in order to get close enough to destroy the suit. But Norman Osborne calls in the military making it look like Superman is the villain and is the first wave in an alien invasion. The military attacks Superman (using real weapons; because the military are skeptical about Superman's place on Earth and they would love a chance to see if their weapons would hurt me, they've agreed to pull out ALL the stops and fire everything they have at me: rockets, experimental rail guns, lasers, miniguns, new fighter jets, everything - I think they're hoping some of it will work, then they can take my wounded body in for testing.), but none of the weapons work until the general fires a special meteor rock powered laser (provided by Oscorp) knocking me out of the sky. As I'm spitting up blood and the military is about to eliminate me, the general's daughter Mary Jane Watson in her car comes barreling around the corner in front of me proclaiming her love for me and that I'm not a monster, I'm a hero. She gets me into the car and escapes - the general doesn't want to fire on his own daughter. Superman recovers from his injuries by laying in direct sunlight.

Oh yeah, there's elements of Batman V. Superman in the film. After beating his father, Harry Osborne injects himself with the meteor rock serum, going crazy and uses false evidence that Superman is trying to lower our guard by pretending to be a hero, and he manages to convince Batman that Superman is a dangerous alien that must be taken down before he becomes too powerful - he convinces Batman that the more time goes by, he increases in strength by absorbing more and more solar radiation and it may reach a point where he's unstoppable and Superman must be killed now while they have a chance.

There's this whole Batman Vs. Superman fight with sonic weapons, kryptonite gas, and tons of other gadgets. Batman is wearing a big mecha suit in this film though. He nearly manages to kill Superman until I beg him to help my mother May (Superman only squeaks out "...M-mother...May...have to save...mother...May"). Batman responds with, "How do you know that name!?" - it's a whole big thing. Batman and I manage to team up to free May Parker from her captors, and we agree to look for other heroes and form the Justice League. In this movie, we create the Watchtower that is a space station for teleporting members to and from Earth and the station.

The Osbornes' last resort: They've managed to get some of Superman's DNA and have created a monster named Doomsday that is threatening to destroy the world. There is a big battle with Doomsday and all the other heroes from the Justice League are defeated. Superman sacrifices himself to save the world using a Kryptonite spear that Batman crafted as a weapon if Superman ever went rogue. At the end of the movie, Superman crawls out of the grave in confusion. It's been 6 months since his death; he was in a Kryptonian regenerative coma that mimics a near-death state. There's a being named Darkseid who is threatening to destroy Earth with Apocalypse world; Darkseid is going to smash Apocalypse world into Earth. Superman goes to the Sun to charge up, then goes to Apocalypse world and pushes it away from Earth (mirroring the series finale of Smallville).

It's going to be a huge 3.5 hour epic with Superman the movie elements, Batman Vs. Superman parts, Justice League, and finally Smallville. It would probably work better as a TV series, but this will be much better for spreading the legend of Superman worldwide.
