After getting Maddy fed, everyone started helping get things ready for the party. I helped Colt when he needed things, but most things were taken care of by the party planner and their help. The one thing that Mrs. Maddox always does for this party every year is cook everything. Because of this, Maddy spent most of the day in the kitchen with her mom helping her. I made sure to check in with her every chance I got though because I was not only worried about her and the baby, but I missed her.

/"How are you feeling?/" I whisper in Maddy’s ear. I walked into the kitchen to find her leaning against the counter breathing a little harder than normal.

/"Stomach,/" she whispered back. I was glad that I walked in when I did because her mom was talking to her sister, Kelly, about something so she wasn’t paying attention to what was going on with Maddy.
