1 Chapter One

We're talking away

I don't know what

I'm to say I'll say it anyway

Today's another day to find you

Shying away

I'll be coming for your love, okay?

The only noises that could be heard in the small wooden log cabin in the middle of nowhere were the crackle of wood from the open fireplace, gentle knocks of water droplets hitting the windowpane, the small tap of a foot on the oak flooring, the strings of an acoustic guitar and the voice of an angel.

Take on me

Take me on

I'll be gone

In a day or two

The man who sang allowed himself to look at the face of his lover who sat by his feet listening to him play, sitting cross-legged as her honey brown eyes sketched out the side of the man's well-structured face.

So needless to say

I'm odds and ends

But I'll be stumbling away

Slowly learning that life is okay

Say after me

It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me

Take me on

I'll be gone

In a day or two

Strumming the last note, the musician placed the old tringle guitar down before joining the woman on the floor. They sat in nothing but a tee-shirt and their underwear, they didn't need to wear anything else in each other's company...

The woman, had her dirty blonde hair stuffed inside a high ponytail with long loose strands floating behind her cut bangs. The man had dark hair, brown with a hint of black, and instead of bangs framing his face, wire-framed glasses sat on his nose.

"Well, that was certainly very beautiful," The blonde said with a smile hiding behind cold rosy blushed cheeks.

"A beautiful song for a beautiful woman." Listening to the brunette's words the blonde looked to the floor before replying, the reply coming out in a small whisper as she remembered there time together. The two had been none stop holding one another in their arms, cuddling, kissing, having sex, they were all over each other. They had met just seven days ago.

The blonde, Sadie. Had been tiptoeing around the streets when it started to rain heavily, hearing the bang of the water hitting the floor, a swarm of dementors soon had Sadie trapped inside of a building, an old pub.

That's when she met Adam, the brunette who was using the small abandoned pub to hide out after accidentally entering the forbidden streets. Adam had helped her find her way out and together they barricaded themselves inside one of the old death eater lookout spots tucked away behind knockturn alley. Here they planned on waiting until the storm passed to both returns to there homes far away from here, but after two days it still hadn't lifted or even slowed, in fact, most of the streets had begun to flood.

They were trapped.

Sadie was a death eater who no longer wanted to play by the rules and the lord does not tolerate those individuals. Usually, he-who-must-not-be-named wouldn't bother with these people and he'd stay in the shadows while his followers did there work. But Sadie was different. She knew things. Plans. Secrets. Things nobody else knew but she and a few higher-ups knew...

He demanded her head.

They'd kill her when they found her, she had somewhere to go, back home, but it was two train rides away, she'd never make it all the way. She knew if she was found she'd be killed on sight with no time to beg for mercy.

"If I knew you were such an artist, I would have forced you to play me something a week ago." They chuckled together, the blonde biting down on her lip softly after she spoke.

"Well, I didn't wanna scare you off when we were having so much fun." The two bonded rather quickly, some would say too close, too quickly. But It was only a matter of time before she'd be found and her life would be ended, so excuse her for enjoying the little time she had left on this earth.

It wasn't originally like that though, Sadie needed comfort after the third day and Adam was there, it hit her heard when she realized that nobody from her very small following of 3 was coming for her. They'd probably assumed she'd already been caught or endured something terrible, It was clear they weren't coming, not anytime soon.

"I don't think you could ever scare me off, even if you wanted too. I've seen the face of the devil and he wasn't as handsome as you."

---

"But Father! That woman is still out there and if you think I'm not going to go looking for her t-"

"Hush boy!"

"Father," Draco yelled over the rain as it hit harder and harder onto the street floor below. Even though the sixteen-year-old stood just inside of the store doorway, the father and son pair could barely hear one another over the thumps of rain around them.

Over the past week, since the rain began, the boy had been none stop begging both his father, Lucius, and his mother, Narcissa to allow him to take a small group and go out to look for the girl, each time he asked, they both downright refused.

His mother would say it was too dangerous and his father would say it wasn't anything the family needed to worry about but Draco knew better, his father's jaw clenched tightly whenever the family was in bother, and right now, it was practically wired shut.

The secrets the young woman knew needed to be kept inside the death eaters circle and be told to no other soul, however with this one girl out there the group had no idea who else now knew. No idea who else she had already told in the 168 hours she had been free.

Draco wanted to show his loyalty -after his father constantly told him he needed to speak up more at the sessions- so that's exactly what he was trying to do.

Trying to do.

"She could be anywhere by now!"

"Which is why we stay where we are and let the minor authorities deal with her" Lucius barked back, the noise around him beginning to overflow his senses, frustrating him, he had begun to get fed up of the boys constant asking, he knew he only had himself to blame for the boys need to annoy, it came from his side of the family after all "The only thing you need worry about is your new school year." Which started in a week. Not that Lucius had the date set permanently in his mind or anything "Let the adults deal with this."

He couldn't wait to be rid of his son but for how long? he wasn't sure since the boy always tended to call his father in to deal with his childish issues.

"Father potter has a broom, i want one."

"Father potter can talk to snakes why can't I?"

He only wished the almost adult would grow up.

"Ballard." Narcissa spoke up from her husband's side and the family's new house-elf practically ran to her from his place in the rain as he had not been allowed to stand with the group "Take Draco home, he has to pack and change for dinner." She instructed, walking to her child to place a kiss on his cold cheek.

The young boy said nothing else, simply began to follow the house slave towards the end of the street but it was once they were out of view that he took matters into his own hands.

He knew where Sadie was.

And he'd known all along.

He just didn't want to tell his father or anybody for that matter.

Who do you think had helped her out of the grounds?

The traitor had made contact with someone, someone from the council, Draco had no idea who, but that person had begun contacting him by mail before the rain and together they had a plan...From the words exchanged between them all it was clear none of them asked for this life, they had all been sucked in by there three separate silly old families, forced into the business and everyone knew that the only way out was to die.

Or perhaps it's not the ONLY way? Sadie and her 2 followers: Draco and another female who's name he didn't know and face he'd never seen, believed that the way to break the circle.

Was to break it from the inside out.

But on the night planned Sadie had been caught, her face had been seen so she needed to run and now there were strict orders from you-know-who for her to be killed on sight. Draco knew this from listening to his father's conversations, he also knew that Sadie had been seen a few hours ago by knockturn, which meant he didn't have much time.

Not to help her get out, god no, he'd be murdered for helping! Instead, he simply wanted to get there before the dementors did..Truth is? When they first began writing to one another Draco had no real interest of helping her escape, he simply needed to help her to gain her trust and give a hand until the time was right. It's officially that time.

He wanted to find Sadie and have her tell him everything she knew, the secrets, the lies, the plots, the darkness, everything. The more he knew. The easer it would be to cause mass manipulation in the circle and get out..

Alive.

The blonde turned his head to make sure his mother was out of sight before grabbing the elf by its long large ear, dragging it towards an empty alleyway..well, all the alleys were empty.

He may not listen much in class, being easily distracted but he knew a thing or two that the others didn't, mainly? How to identify different elf species, which kind, could do what.

Ballard was a beastal, a mix of elf. He had the ability to mentally connect with others.

Draco hoped he'd gotten this one right.

"Listen here. You will find Sadie, you will ask her where she is and you will not ask questions is that understood" He said in a harsh whisper, a threat. He knew the elf wouldn't speak a word of this to his father either way.

Ballard had served the Malfoy's for a few years now and even though he often smiled and nodded and did what he was told, deep down he hated each one of them, the father most of all. He treats him like mud, dirt, scum...

He basically treats him exactly how he treats his son.

Of course, the creature wouldn't tell him. Even if he did, his father wouldn't bat an eyelash thinking the creature was talking nonsense as per usual. Malfoy looked around slightly, his heart racing as his grey eyes attached to the floor, then back to the ugly face of his helper.

"The faster you are. The quicker you find yourself presented with clothes."
