Day Zero

The alarm woke me up from my deep sleep, I got up and I used the washroom, afterwards I began my morning routine. Which was shave, shower, get dressed, make breakfast and start my first day at my new job. I was excited, new day, new job and it felt like a beginning to something great. I had to take the bus but it didn't bother me none because I was eager to start whatever the job entailed, which was extremely vague. I pulled out the letter an immediately began to read all over to make sure I didn't miss anything and I didn't miss anything. it just reads:

' To Mr. Jason Adams-Ruvall,

Your presence is required since our initial interview we have been extremely eager to have you work for us but before you can receive your job title you have to take an initial assessment test, to properly categorize the employees. So in a sense you have all the control in which job you shall receive.

I folded up the paper, my phone vibrated twice, once for a reminder for my first day on the job and the second was a text message from my mother. It read:

'Good luck my son and don't forget to call your father afterwards.' My mother was the heart an consciousness an my father was the body and brawn. My parents could be strict but their reasons were justified and I complained like any other kid. I found an outlet to deal with it, some sports an science, those two alone gave me what I needed in high school to make friends and to grow my experiences in life as a hole. I had friends but since graduation we grew apart an started to live our lives away from each other.
