9 Shizu's feelings

After taking care of Shizu I went to meet the trio. They questioned about her condition but I just told them half of the story saying that some spirit took over her body and it took a great toll on her. It is her story so it is her choice to whom she would tell.

"So, what are you guys going to do now?" I asked them, after all they came here to check suspicious happenings and well a town being constructed in the middle of forest is pretty darn suspicious.

"We will return to guild to submit our report. When is Shizu-san going to wake up?" Cabal questioned anxiously.

"It might take few days for her to completely recover, so unless you have a lot of free time like me, I suggest you to complete your work first rather than waiting for her." 

I tried my best to convince her but I cannot force a person to live now, can I?...It's up to her whether she chooses to move on or not.

"I see. Well then please take care of her. Even though for a short time, she was still our companion." 

"Mhm. Don't worry about that. Let me drop you off then."

I snapped my fingers and all three of them disappeared, I left them in front of the city's gate.

*sigh*

Two days later...

I was sitting at the top of rock on the bank of the river, catching fishes or should I say trying to catch fishes...I felt a presence nearing me.

"You ate anything, you have been down since two days, sensei?~"

"Y-yes, the one called Rigurdo gave me meal." Shizu answered.

"Oh.. How did you find me?" She came and sat beside me.

"The wolf told me..."

"Ranga huh...So what will you do from now on?"

"I was thinking of returning back. I was taking care of five more students who were summoned here like me...so I guess I will return back to doing that..."

She said leaning her head on my shoulder.

'Oi oi, you're going too fast sensei, slow down a bit..'

"I see, so you'll leave your new student here huh...how sad.." I said wiping a non-existing tear from my eye.

"W-what? N-no! I did not say that!!" She was flustered.

"hahahaha! how cute"

"Shut up! i-idiot!!"

"Y-you can come w-with me you know!" She said in a mosquito like voice.

"Give me at least four months okay? I got some interesting news about things going to happen here from a crow you see, so I can't leave these guys here, unprotected." I sighed.

"I see". Her gaze lingered on the flowing river, I could see her eyes getting wet.

"Geez sensei, don't make that expression, I'll come to visit you whenever I can okay?" I pulled her cheeks. I created a small golden ring with some runes on it and tucked it in her ring finger.

"Now you are mine Sensei~" I whispered in her ear on a soft teasing voice. I thought she would get flustered, throw a tantrum, call me a idiot or something but I hoped that her mood would be lifted up even a little bit. 

Yeah no...

She place her both hand behind my neck and pulled me for a kiss. The world around me went silent for a second, I could feel her hot breath on my face and hear her heart beating loud, heck I could even hear my own heart beating even more furiously than her. All those powers, ultrasensory perception, immense speed and reflexes, nothing worked. 

"If you ever decide to leave me, I will kill you, i-idiot" She ran away hurriedly, her face was even more red than tomato.

I just sat there in a daze, not even being able to process what just happened.

'I am fucked, aren't I?, Shit just went from zero to hundred reaaal quick.'

"My Lord....Lord Rimuru is calling for a meeting." I heard a voice from my back.

"Did you see it?" I asked it Ranga without turning back.

"What are you talking about, Shiro-sama?"

"Nothing lets go." I tried to stand up but my hand touched something...Shizu's mask.

'Did she left this behind?....'

[Shizu's POV]

I am getting weaker day by day. Looks like my time has finally come. 

'I don't think I can restrain Ifrit's consciousness anymore...'

I remembered two of my pupils..

A boy with sincere and pure gaze, Kagurazaka Yukki

And a girl with depressed gaze, Sakaguchi Hinata.

The both were polar opposite to each other and were fellow Japanese Word Travelers.

But time passed and hinata left,

<Sensei, thank you for the care have shown. I fear there is nothing else can learn from you. Nor shall we meet again, think>

In a mere month she had surpassed me in strength. When I heard that she got some important position in empire, I was happy for her...

In comparison, Yuuki was a sweet boy,

He changed Adventurers Cooperation Union into Freedom Association and introduced the current ranking system.

I didn't have any longer to live, so I decided to face the demon lord for one last time.

I decided to talk with Yuuki but, I didn't get any answer. Perhaps he wanted to say something or maybe he just didn't care, I didn't know which one it was...but, I couldn't help but feel a slight disappointment in my heart.

*Sigh*

At the same time, a message came from Farmas Kingdom's guild.

'Veldora has disappeared and further investigation will be done'

A party was chosen to investigate and I decided to go with them, They were a cheerful trio.

We got attacked by giant ants during the way, although I could kill them using flames but I decided not to,

'Every time I use the flame, I feel Ifrit's consciousness become more stronger'.

After being chased for a while we were saved by a bunch of monsters.

As surprising it was, it was the truth.

The monsters were building a town in the middle of forest. Construction work was going on, the monsters were working, instructed by dwarves.

Then there I met him...

Shiro Tempest, at least that was how he introduced himself.

White hair, fair complexion with a nonchalant and carefree personality, a handsome and charismatic person.

The adventurers and Shiro were discussing, well he was just listening sitting there with amused expression and the trio were rambling about different things.

At that moment my lifeforce seemed to ran out and Ifrit took over my consciousness.

I could see everything happening but I couldn't control anything. The trio were panicking and Shiro...he just sat there looking at Ifrit as if he found something interesting to with.

"Haaah! Explode!" Ifrit was going to cause a explosion, then finally he moved.

He lowered his blindfold, his eyes were...beautiful, glowing silver...he lifted his hand and crossed his index and middle finger, it was a faint voice but I heard him...

"Domain Expansion: Infinite Void" 

...was what he said. Then I lost my consciousness.

'Huh. Where am I?' I thought. I looked around me all I could see was....nothing...there wasn't anything at all only him and me.

'Is this what he meant by infinite void?'

I was looking around but then I heard a playful voice..

"What was that, or maybe I should ask who that was? hmm."

....

"You know, I have a better plan. How about about we face him together, Hmm?"

"I can't!! I can't do this anymore!! The scenes where I murdered the innocent villages and children repeats like a nightmare everyday. Every time I fall asleep, the expression of fear and loss on the faces of the victims, their cries and pleas for help, it feels like someone is pulling my heart right out my throat..."

Just as the tears were going to fall from eye, he pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly. I couldn't hold back anymore, I buried my head in his chest and cried. He hugged me tightly and was slowly stroking my hair, I couldn't help but feel at peace...

....... 

"....Want to see it?"

'Memories? Who's memories?' I was confused but I still nodded.

'How? How can he smile after all that?' The way he suffered make mine look like a normal nightmare compared to it.

"Hmm...is that so? Then how about taking me as your student?"

"So, no more killing yourself right?"

"R-right."

After that I fell asleep...

A blue screen was floating, in which the scene of Shizu kissing Shiro was being played.

The girl on the bed suddenly throwed a pillow towards the screen.

"Ughh darling you idiooooooooot!!"

"Hmph. I'll forgive you this time, just because you don't have you memories. Tsk, It's all because of these people and their rules. Maybe I should just kill them all..."

The maid standing beside could only gulp in fear...

'It's your husband who's doing that. Why do you even want to kill us?'
