Truce with a perverted Werewolf?

(Sophie's POV)

I was in deep trouble. Garth had a firm grip around my waist. His face was just inches from mine and I felt my heart racing. One of his hands began to rub my back slowly and I stiffened. This was so uncomfortable.

"Your beauty radiates like that of an angel." Just then he grabbed my butt and squeezed it.

"Garth, if you don't take your hand off me right now, you're going to be howling in a higher pitch than you'd like."

"Such fire…" he gave a wolfish grin.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the door open and my gut told me to get the heck away from there. So out of instinct I pushed Garth away and at that moment a huge silver axe lodged itself into the mantelpiece where Garth's head once was. I turned my head to see Nicolai standing by the door with… Alex? Did Alex just throw his axe at Garth? Does he know he's a werewolf or could he actually… I shook my head. It couldn't be that. I mean we just met and we hardly know each other. We are teammates for crying out loud.

"HEY!" Garth shouted at Alex, "What's your problem?"

Alex just glared at Garth as he walked over to the mantle and yanked out his axe. Garth just glared back at Alex and it seemed the two were locked in some sort of stare off.

"What the hell Alex!" I blurted out which snapped Alex out of the stare off he was having with a pretty ticked off werewolf.

"If you don't mind me asking Mr. Walker, why exactly did you throw your axe at my bodyguard?" Nicolai asked in a tone that suggested he was mildly irritated with the situation.

Heck, if anyone had the right to be irritated it was me. I mean I was the one who had my ass fondled by some horny werewolf. I shudder at the thought of what might have happened if Nicolai and Alex had not entered the room at that moment.

"This pervert is your bodyguard?" Alex blurted out, he was apparently not thinking before he spoke, "You've got to be kidding me?"

Garth growled at his comment, then quickly regained his composure and said in a calm yet firm tone, "This is clearly a misunderstanding. I was just merely courting Miss Chevalier and asking her to be my mate."

My jaw had dropped. I could not believe he had said that. I looked over at Alex to see his grip on his axe tightening. His knuckles were turning white.

"Oh Garth, what am I going to do with you?" Nicolai said in his nonchalant tone, breaking the tension in the room.

Garth just laughed and said, "Master Chase, my mate and I would be honored for you to attend our wedding."

"Wait just a minute, fleabag! I didn't agree to any wedding and I certainly didn't even agree to even be your mate!" I practically shouted at him.

He then just turned to me, smiled a wolfish grin, and said, "Oh how rude of me, I'm getting ahead of myself now aren't I my dear." He grabbed one of my hands and lifted it to his lips and kissed it, "I still have to sweep you off your feet now don't I?"

I narrowed my eyes at him and yanked my hand out of his grasp, "Touch me again and you're going to find out what it's like to have a silver dagger lodged straight in your…"

"Sophia!" Nicolai gave me a shocked look.

"What?" I faked an innocent look, "I was going to say chest"

"All drama aside, can we get to the matter at hand now?" Nicolai said, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

"And what might that be, Nicolai?" I questioned him with narrowed eyes.

"Oh nothing important, just Alex and Garth training together to help you defeat this great evil." He smirked.

My eyes widened. Alex was going to work with Garth?! This was not going to end well.

---------------------------

(Alex's POV)

I was going to have to work with a perverted werewolf who is stuck in a fantasy world thinking that Sophie was his mate and that she was his property. I clenched my jaw at the thought. As much as I wanted to kick his ass and neutering him on the spot, part of me knew that we needed his help. Heck! We could use all the help we could get if this great evil was as bad as Nicolai had said it would be.

"Alex…I think given the current circumstances, since you're now going to be working with Garth, that you should make amends for any misunderstandings that may have happened in the past fifteen minutes." Nicolai said in his usual nonchalant tone.

I turned towards Nicolai, "You gotta be kidding me." I said flatly.

Nicolai just stood there looking at me with an eyebrow raised and I could tell he was serious.

"Well this just keeps getting better and better." I muttered dryly to myself.

I let out a long drawn out sigh, shouldered my axe, then turned around and faced the mangy fleabag. His smug grin was really starting to get on my nerves right then and there and I was really wishing I could just smash his face in. I took a deep breath and did the impossible…  I apologized to the mutt.

"I'm sorry I threw my axe at you." I said trying my best to sound sincere but failing miserably.

[I'm even more sorry that I missed.] I said in my head.

Just then I received a jab to the ribs and looked to my right to see Nicolai standing there, an eyebrow raised, and arms crossed.

"And what else?" He said, edging me on to say more.

Damn that bloodsucker really knows how to make someone feel small.

"And it would be an honor to work with you." I said with a fake smile.

Garth just smiled his smug little grin then said, "Do not worry my friend. I can tell by the looks of you that you were the alpha of your old pack back home, yes?"

"Well, actually..." I began to speak but was then rudely interrupted by, wolf boy over here.

"Well in my pack, just like in any other pack, there is only one alpha," He began to ramble on, "And when another alpha from another pack comes in the picture it is natural that they would want only the finest female in the pack, so naturally a fight between the two alphas is bound to break out. In other words, I accept your apology."

[The arrogant, son of a bitch.] I thought.

"Good now that we've gotten that little mess cleared up, why don't you show us the weapons vault, Nick?" Sophie said through clenched teeth.

"Ah, yes! The weapons vault." He said as if he just had a brilliant idea, "You're going to need some new weapons if you're going to face this evil."

With that said he snapped his fingers and a door appeared on the wall to his left. The door was huge, arched, and looked to be made of iron. Then with another snap of his fingers, five red stars appeared on the floor. I swear I only blinked for a moment but in that moment everyone showed up and by everyone I mean Jacob, Izzy, Danny, Mia, and Abby.

The gang was looking around in confusion while Jacob was just sleeping standing up. I walked over to him and nudged him awake.

"Huh? Wha-..  Angry Fairies!!" He half shouted sleepily.

"Wake up." I said, trying my hardest not to laugh.

"Well now that everyone's here, shall we proceed to getting your new weapons?" Nicolai said as he rubbed his hands together in an eager manner.

He then walked toward the large iron door, grabbed the handle, and swung open the door to reveal what looked to be a blacksmith's workshop.  I just stood there and stared, along with everyone else, at the doorway.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" He said as he walked over the threshold and into the workshop, "Come in, come in."

I was hesitant, I never trusted a vampire, but then I saw Sophie walk past everyone, hips swaying in that way that was very distracting. I shook my head and tried to focus my thoughts.

[Focus, Alex. The world is in danger, and….] I glanced to my right to see Garth staring hungrily at her as she walked into the workshop, [The bastard!! How dare he look at her that way!]

Anger was starting to swell in me once again as he had the nerve to go in after her.

[That does it!!] I thought to myself as I walked over to the open door and entered.

I tried to keep calm as I walked into the workshop. Once I entered I then calmed down and started to look around. The walls looked to be made of stone, and there was a dirt floor. Stone tables were everywhere and it all looked very primitive if you asked me. I turned around to see Jacob and the rest of the gang had already entered.

"Hey dude, where are we?" Asked Jacob.

I looked around and honestly… I had no clue where we were. Just then a short stocky man appeared from around the huge forge that was in the far left corner of the room. The man had wild dark brown hair with three small streaks of grey on the right temple. His beard was long and had small braids in it laced with what seemed like silver and copper beads, his eyes were a honey color, he was dressed in a green shirt and overalls, had a worn leather apron on, and had soot marks all over him.

"Nicolai! My dear friend,it's been ages." Said the man in a loud hearty voice, "What brings you here?"

"Melvid, it's so good to see you. I take it you still make the finest weapons in all of Terrania?"

(For those of you who do not know or haven't figured it out by now, Melvid over there is a Dwarf and Terrania is the capital city in the Dwarf's kingdom.)

"What do you want this time,Nicolai?" Melvid said as he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"I'm afraid there is no use in lying to you, dear friend." Nicolai stated simply, then said, "Another great evil is on the horizon now, and my friends here are in need of some of your finest weapons."

"And you just expect me to just drop everything I'm doing, just because you asked me to?" Melvid said, looking a bit peeved.

"Listen here dwarf," Sophie said as she stepped forward, "There is a rogue demon out there that is killing other demons and stealing their powers. For all we know it could be doing that to other magical creatures as well, and if that's not bad enough for you ….. it's going after the Leviathan."

The dwarf's eyes widened slightly, and then he shook his head as if he had just heard some disappointing news.

"Such evil in the world these days," He sighed sadly then turned around and started to walk towards a large wooden wardrobe which looked to be hand carved, "Come this way. I will help, but I don't know how much help this old Dwarf can be."

"If your weapons are as fine a quality as Nicolai brags about them to be, then we should have no problem." Sophie said as she walked along with Melvid to the wardrobe.

Once again she swayed her hips slightly in that distracting way and as on cue Garth began following right behind her.

[The mutt is really asking for an axe to the skull right now.] I thought as I clenched my jaw.

"As much as that would be entertaining, I would have to advise you to control your anger for the time being and focus it on the matter at hand." I turned to my left to see Nicolai standing there.

"Stay out of my head, bloodsucker." I hissed at him.

He just chuckled lightly, "Trust me, my friend, if your thoughts weren't so entertaining I would stay out of them."

"Damn vampires." I muttered under my breath.

"Here we are!" Melvid said as he gestured towards the largely decorated hand carved wooden wardrobe.

He grabbed the handles on the doors which I had to admit were kept in very good condition considering the fact that the rest of his workshop was a total disaster. I mean it looked like a complete mess in there. Some things were semi -organized but there were old rusty bent swords everywhere. It made me wonder if the old dwarf could even make weapons. Back to the subject of getting our weapons.

"I've been saving these beauties for a special occasion." He said with a sense of pride as he flung the doors open wide to reveal a wide collection of what appeared to be hand crafted weapons, ranging from swords that a knight might use, to daggers that an assassin might kill for.

I saw Sophie as she walked up to the large wardrobe filled with weapons and eyed them up and down. The Dwarf began to look a bit nervous as she just stood there eyeing his most prized weapons he obviously had to offer.

"These will do." She said as she turned around and faced me then the rest of the group,"Choose your weapons wisely."

Once those words were spoken the gang wasted no time in searching for their new weapon. Me,on the other hand, wasn't going to give up my battle axe for anything.

"I see you're denying my most generous offer to give you a new weapon. Is something wrong Mr. Walker?" I looked to my right to see none other than Nicolai standing there with that annoying little smug look on his face.

"I'm just fine with what I got, thank you." I said as calmly as I could.

I looked back to the rest of the gang to see that Jacob had got a brand new saber that had a large aquamarine in the hilt. Abby got a bow and a quiver of silver arrows that looked like it belonged to an elf. Mia got a silver katana and heaven knows what else. Heck! She could have gotten some of those assassin's daggers without me realizing it. Danny picked up a short sword with medium sized amber on the hilt, and lastly Izzy picked up a silver rapier that had a jeweled hilt.

I looked to the left of the wardrobe to see Sophie just standing there still as a statue when something must have caught her eye 'cause she then walked over to the back of the room to where a glass case was collecting dust and  lightly touched it as if she was remembering something.

"Ah, I see you found one of my more unique weapons." I heard the dwarf say as he walked over to where Sophie was.

I followed him out of curiosity.

"Where did you find this?" She asked in a tone that was as if she was almost on the verge of crying but still holding it together.

[What can be in that case that can 'cause her such pain?] I thought

ok so this is the longest chapter I've ever put out... hope you like it.
