Luis vs August, Part 1

"And Grover Bradshaw is the winner!" The announcer says, causing the entire stadium to erupt in applause.

"Alright!" The four of us cheer as we leap out of our seats.

"I knew that Grover would win!" Ella cheers.

"Only fitting for the future Chairman," Austin smirks.

"I got to admit, Mercury put up a damn good fight, too!" Jamie adds.

"Alright, Grover!" I clap. "I hope to see you in the finals!"

Normally, they would fight right after August and I on arena one, but after Mikey decimated the arena in his match against August, we're just going to do the fights at the same time, August and I on arena two, and Grover versus Winter in arena three. I instructed all of my friends to go watch Grover fight, stating that I will be nervous with all eyes on me. That's not a lie, of course, but that's not the real reason. In case I do go full-demon against August, like how Daniel's half demon form triggered my own, I don't want them to see me like that. Besides, Grover's Grover. He'll want all eyes on him. And so, Ella and the rest of my squad and Renzu's squad are watching Grover. My family, of course, I couldn't convince them to not watch my fight. Oh well. I couldn't find Nick to tell him to watch Grover's match instead of mine, either, so I'm assuming he's here watching me in the sky box. Mikey is nowhere to be found.

But none of that matters now. All that I need to focus on is my match against August, my fellow half demon. Before, I was fighting to make sure I face Mikey in the final round of the tournament. Now? I don't really know. Just to expose August as a fellow half demon for certain. I need to know.

I step out into arena two. Unlike yesterday, where I was nervous, looking around in wonder at the cheering audience, and waving to them, today, I keep my scowling eyes dead set on August ahead of me, who smirks back at me from the opposite end of the arena. Despite losing my drive to face Mikey, I have a new passion bubbling inside of me, a new flame of victory, as I walk loud and proud, my fist clenched tightly as I approach August, who swaggers towards me.

Eventually, the two of us make it to the center of the arena, standing face to face. August smirks at me, I scowl back at him. "Remember, this isn't a fight to the death. Attempts to deliver a fatal blow will cause you to be disqualified," the reff begins to explain, while August and I both know full well we'll be beating the absolute demon out of one another, literally.

"Now…" the ref begins to say as he waves his hand upwards. "Let the fight begin!"

"Alright, I need to defeat August quickly or at least injure him, before he can spawn too many clones," I say to myself as I draw my katana and prepare my Wind Blade, slashing August across the chest right off the bat the very second that the round started, leaving a long, deep, bloody gash wound in his chest. "Wind Control: Wind Blade"

Dazed, August stumbles backwards a step, his eyes wide. August seems genuinely shocked by my swift attack.

After my first Wind Blade, I follow that attack up with a flurry of Hurricane Slashes, which all serve to carve up August's body, even further. Of course, I would have preferred a much stronger Sky God's Katana or Spirit Storm, but I don't have the luxury of preparing such powerful attacks.

"Wind Control Hurricane Slash!" I shout as I wrap my wind around the blade of my katana, before slashing it outwards, sending a powerful blast of slicing winds flying towards August.

August doesn't have enough time to dodge, but he is able to block. "Flesh Clones, Transfiguration!" August shouts as both hands begin bubbling with red Cursed Power. August touches his right hand to his left armpit and vice versa. When August removes his hands, two more muscular arms grow in place.

I cringe at the disgusting display. August can use his Flesh Clones to generate extra limbs? Gross.

"Rule Breaker or your demon powers?" I ask.

"I don't know," August answers with a smile. "Combination of both?"

August then brings all four arms up to block, reinforcing them with his red Cursed Power, and using them to defend against my Hurricane Slash.

My Hurricane Slash blasts into August's four arms, which struggle against my attack for a little while. EVentually, August manages to slam all four of his arms down to the left, knocking away my Hurricane Slash.

"Wind Control: Tornado Toss!" I shout as I sheath my katana, before creating a small tornado in between my two cupped hands and throwing it towards August. The tornado grows larger and larger, gathering up desert sand as it flies across the arena towards August. August tries to use his four Cursed Power barrier reinforced arms to block my tornado again, but it's futile, as August finds himself wrapped up in my attack.

My tornado rams into August, knocking him off of his feet and forcing him into the air. August spirals madly around my tornado, which lashases him and cuts him up on the inside, before dissipating, as August slams into the ground.

"Well this is unexpected, you're typically far more reserved when you fight," August grunts as he sits up and rubs his head.

"Well I'm not going to give you…a chance to recover!" I cry as I draw my katana and charge August again.

I'm not fighting as reserved as I normally do, eh? Yeah…even I can tell that much. Normally I do go on the defensive when I fight, because, well, I hate fighting. Maybe it's August triggering my demon side? And that's why I'm so aggressive? No…

It's because I need to defeat August before my half-demon mode kicks in.

August pops off of the desert ground in time just to get slashed by my Wind Blade again. I then pivot my feet and bring my katana back up to stab him in the gut, but August is able to counter by bringing his second right arm up and using it to shield the rest of his body from my stab. So when I pierce August's transfigured right arm, no blood squirts out, only a flesh white substance, causing me to cringe.

I attempt to yank my katana free from August's right arm, but August flexes his muscles tightly, keeping the blade of my katana trapped. With his two left arms, August then socks me in the face with a Cursed Power Barrier infused punch, causing my head to violently snap to the side.

August then cocks both of his left arms back again, attempting to land a second double punch, but before he can, I duck to the ground, letting go of my katana and dodging August's second wave of Cursed Power Barrier infused punches.

I then pop back up to my feet, uppercutting August in the chin as I do so, with my very own Cursed Power Barrier infused punch, causing August's head to violently snap upwards. August stumbles backwards a bit, clutching his bleeding nose with one of his many hands. My own nose is also bleeding profusely. August then rips my katana out of his second right arm, tossing it to the side, as August's extra arms slink back into his body.

August's hands begin bubbling with red Cursed Power as he touches them to the deep bloody gash in his chest caused by my Wind Blade. August runs his hand up and down his wound, and when he pulls them away, I see that the wound has fully healed up.

"So you can create extra flesh to heal your injuries?" I ask. Jamie gave me an in -depth run down of August's abilities after she watched him fight, so I know that August can use his Cursed Power to create extra flesh, which he mainly uses to create clones and extra limbs. And now…healing too, I suppose.

"Not exactly," August answers. "I can't heal my wounds, per say. All I did was add an extra layer of skin on top to promote entire healing, as well as halting the flow of blood loss, which gives me an advantage against most humans, who when they start bleeding, don't stop until the fight's over."

"Alright, so at least he can't fully heal," I grumble to myself. "Wind Control: Sky God's Anklets!" I then shout as I prepare my Sky God's Anklets, using them to dash towards August.

August hops out of the way to dodge my charge, which is fine, because he isn't my target. As I pass by August, I slide to the ground, ducking down under August and grabbing my katana, before popping back up to my feet and preparing a Wind Bade attack as I shout: "Wind Control: Wind Blade!" I slash my Wind Blade towards August, who counters by creating two clones of himself, using them to soak up the damage from my attack, leaving the main body of August perfectly unscathed.
