Austin vs Spike, Part 2

"It looks like I'll be forced to use my trump card, '' Austin says to himself. "I haven't tested it out in real combat, truth is I didn't think they would work and I was scared...scared to see one of my very first inventions fail!" Austin yanks off his glasses and tosses them to the ground, the flimsy frames shattering against the floor of the steel prison. Austin then reaches for the goggles hanging from his neck and slides them on. "Turning on...turning on...there we go," Austin says.

The goggles function just the same as Austin's regular glass, but even better. Regular glasses helped one to see as perfectly as a non-glasses wearers can see, but Austin's goggles has a zoom-in effect on top of that, as well as a scope and targeting feature to help perfect Austin's aim and range. The goggles also have a heat sensor mode as well as highlighting the persons in sight's vitals and heartbeat.

"Oh, want fancy tech you got there Pro Slayer! It's a shame you need to cheat to win!" Spike taunts.

"No...it's not cheating," Austin replies. "These inventions of mine...they're my own strength!"

Spike continues zooming around in his crazy, random patterns. Due to Spike's lack of a pattern, Austin isn't able to discern his movements and fails to land a single shot. Austin aims his shotgun at Spike and pulls the trigger, right towards Spike's beating heart. Spike dodges the shot and keeps charging after Austin, hands outstretched like a madman. All Austin can do is parry Spike's attacks, and occasionally shoot his net cannon at him, slowing Spike down, if even for a second.

"Spike said…'' Austin pants, while dodging Spike's palm thrusts. "That he can't increase…" dodge dodge "...his amount of skin cells…'' dodge dodge "...only extend them!" Austin jumps back and readied his weapon. "Gunsmith: Assault Rifle!" Austin aims his Assault Rifle at Spike showering him with volleys of bullets, but Spike's Pin Needle keeps intercepting them. "Just bide your time…" Austin says to himself. "Until his Pin Needle can't spawn any more spikes! He has to run out of Cursed Power eventually!" Austin roars.

Eventually, Spike tries forming too many spikes trying to block Austin's barrage of bullets and runs out of skin cells! One by one Austin's bullets tore into Spike, sending the inmate flying!

"Yes!" Austin cheers. But then, Austin begins to feel dizzy as blood sprouts from his nose, forcing Austin to drop down to one knee, his Assault Rifle fizzling out.

"Is that all you got-Pro Slayer?!" Spike cackles as he pushes himself off of the ground, blood spurting from each one of his freshly-made bullet holes. "I may have run out of Cursed Power for a second, but that doesn't mean I can't fight! I mean, look at you. Fire a few too many bullets and then you're down for the count!"

"Dammit…" Austin mutters to himself. "That's why I hate using rapid fire rounds of bullets. I have a very limited amount of Cursed Power, so sniping and precision shots are my best bet."

"Time to step my Cursed Ability up a notch, Pro Slayer!" Spike calls to Austin.

"Crap, he can go even further?!" Austin cries.

"Tada!" Spike exclaims as he pulls off the bright red blanket that is tied around his neck, before throwing his blanket up into the air. "Pin Needle: Pin Cushion!" The blanket then falls down onto Spike, covering his entire body. And then, in an instant, huge spikes shot out of every part of Spike's body! These spikes are so massive yet so quick, that Austin doesn't have time to fully dodge! Luckily. Austin is far enough away that he had enough time to hop back, but that doesn't stop the spikes. Austin didn't pull his hand away fast enough, and as a result, the spikes bludgeon Austin's left hand, causing Austin to yelp in pain.

"How'd you like that, Pro Slayer?" Spike taunts. "I call that my "Pin Cushion" technique, it's my Super Attack!"

"Amazing...that attack, it has so much range!" Austin mutters to himself. His base spikes can extend about one foot, two feet max, but that Pin Cushion technique allowed his spikes to extend dozens of feet. Hehe, ironic. I was poking all sorts of holes into his Cursed Ability but mine is the one with major flaws." This time, Spike collapses to the ground, huffing and puffing. "His Pin Needle ability is very similar to my Gunsmith in the sense that every bullet fired drains a small amount of my Cursed Power versus every spike created by Spike drains a little bit of his. It drains more Cursed Power to make a bigger bullet or bigger spike." Austin chuckles to himself. "A supper attack, huh? I got to get myself one of those."

"So, what are you going to do now, Pro Slayer?" Spike asks, sounding weary. "We're both out of Cursed Power, who's gonna make the final blow?"

Both men grunt as they struggle to stand up. "That'll be me," Austin answers as he creates a Cursed Power assault rifle and aims it at Spike, wielding it with only one hand, unlike before. Austin's second hand is clenched tightly at his side, hardly able to move his arm. Just doing so causes even more blood to leak out of Austin's nose. Spike readies his hands in defense. Austin roars as he unleashes volley after volley of bullets upon Spike, who whoops back as he charges. Each bullet spat out by Austin is countered with a spike from Spike, and vice-versa. The two men seem evenly matched, a bullet for a spike. That is, until Spike begins overwhelming Austin! Austin isn't able to fire enough bullets to keep Spike at bay, and Spike is able to rush through Austin's storms of bullets, until he's right on top of Austin. Spike brings both palms up, ready to dig his spikes into Austin. "Damnit, I'm out of Cursed Power!" Austin cries

"Looks like it's me, Pro Slayer!" Spike cackles.

But that's when a conniving grin spread across Austin's lips. "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that," Austin says as he holds his hand up and unclenches his fist, revealing a small trigger created out of Austin's bright orange Cursed Power.

"Eh?! What's that?!" Spike cries. Austin says nothing but simply points behind Spike, who spins around, seeing that he's faced to face with a glowing orange turret levitating mid air, the barrel of its gun aimed directly at Spike's forehead.

"You…when did you create that?!" Spike cries as he turns back to face Austin.

"Did you really think that I would purposely throw my glasses against the ground without reason? No, of course not. I filled my glasses with my Cursed Power, so that when I threw them to the ground, my glasses dispersed my Cursed Power into the floor. Then, when you were busy covering yourself up with that blanket as I writhed on the floor, I tapped into the stockpiled Cursed Power I had in the ground and constructed that turret behind you, as well as this remote detonator. During our last exchange, I purposely slowed down my firing speed so that you would get close to me, thinking that you'd have an advantage and a sure-fire victory against a ranged attacker," Austin explains. "I ought to thank you, Spike, for being such a perfect target to test my Cursed Ability on in real life or death combat."

"So…you don't think my Cursed Ability is cool after all?" Spike whimpers, like a wounded dog.

Austin shakes his head in response. "No," he answers, causing Spike to look gloomy. "But I can't help but praise you for being the perfect opponent to counter me. Thank you, for this valuable experience," Austin continues. "Gunsmith: Gadgets and Gizmos, Remote Operating Turret!" Austin shouts as he turret readies itself. "Aiming…locking on to target…" Austin mutters to himself as he scopes out the perfect spot to snipe by using his goggles. "Locked on!!" Austin shouts.

"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE OUR FREEDOM!" Spike roars as he spins around, palm-thrusting Austin in the stomach and piercing Austin with a final flesh spike, who vomits blood out in response. "HAHAHA, got cha', Pro Slayer, in all of your scheming!" Spike cackles, before attempting to rip his spike out of Austin. But it won't budge. "Huh?! What gives?!" Spike cries. He then looks up to see Austin's signature conniving grin.

"Did you really think that my turret was the only trick I had up my sleeve?" He asks. "I knew that in the end, you were going to try to pull one final attack. I underestimated you, Spike, I thought I'd fully be able to figure out my turret's perfect line of fire during our last bought, but you were so fast that I had to pay some attention to keeping you at bay with my Assault Rifle. That's why, every time I fired off my failed net cannon, I made sure to leave some lingering traces of my Cursed Power net on you, just for this exact moment." "Austin snaps his fingers, and then, Spike finds himself tangled up in Austin's thread.

"You…you…" Spike growls as he turns back to face Austin. "You're a monster! A conniving, evil, scheming monster! A mad inventor, that's what you are! What kind of idiot sacrifices their body for a victory" He roars.

Austin smirks. "Heh heh…Mad Inventor? I like that," he says. "Now…say goodnight, Spike!"

"DEAD END SNIPE! EAT MY LEAD!"

Bang! A loud gunshot rings through the facility as Austin's turret snipes Spike in the chest, just as Austin untangles Spike from his net, causing the inmate to limply flop to the ground.

"You…you didn't kill me afterall…" Spike grunts.

"Heh heh…nope," Austin smirks, before limply flopping to the ground as well. As he does so, the lights in the facility begin to flicker. "I didn't have enough Cursed Power left to do so."

"I'm going to have to buy new glasses…"
