17 Not bad

Zyla stares at the food in front of her and Zadok.

Are they Lions now?! Since when do humans drink palpated blood that they are uncertain if it's clean or not?

She eyes the food hysterically and then raises her eyes to immediately meet the gaze of the honourable Prince Zadok.

"What is this?"

Gross! Alrgh! They expect me to eat this? Are any of these so-called wolves or... Animals that they are have any regard to who they have in this house?! Or Kingdom or whatever?

But still...

"Meat. With Ketchup"

"Ketchup? Ketchup isn't as thick as this and it is way much red. This is blood"

"With sugar. And mint"

I crease a brow at him, and for a minute, I thought a smile will spread widely on his lips.

But it doesn't... Instead, he just stares at me with a little light expression.

"I don't eat this"

"Remember how you starved yesterday? You want that to repeat itself?"

"No?"

"Then eat"

I eye the food again and turn to look behind me. Haley, Lorn and Gandrel slowly face their plates of the same dish seeing me turn to them.

"Don't act like you didn't see me" I whisper aloud and then turn back to the horrible food in front of me and Mr. Likey Blood.

His lips got dripping blood on it and he doesn't seem to care. As far as he is eating with me in the same table, he doesn't care about himself anymore.

Or maybe that's what I think.

"This is torture"

Little laughter starts to erupt behind me hearing what I just said.

Torture... Total torture.

I raise the meat stuck to a burnt stick to my mouth to taste the horror that awaits me, with the blood sprinkled up all over it.

But...

Zadok stares at Zyla with tired eyes and wonder how he will cope with a human being his wife in this forest. How will she even rule?

Plus, she's a human. Humans seem to complain a lot. And even if wolves complain in their human selves, they have their complaining boundaries...

Which they all know about.

She takes a bite and her eyebrows relaxes, giving Zadok the vibe to also relax.

"Not bad" She mutters and continue eating it without acknowledging the presence of Zadok, who is just staring at her with some kind of confusion.

His blue eyes surveys thoroughly and he wishes he can get himself convinced that this is not the lady he saw yesterday, but he just can't.

She still got those beautiful asian looking eyes of hers and everything that was on her yesterday is still on her, so why wouldn't she be the girl that he saw yesterday?

She wipes her mouth more gently like he does and then she raises her eyes to look at him, which causes a little shock between them.

The way he stared at her signified interest and when Zyla looked at him, he felt like he got electrocuted in an instance, but his face still remains the same.

Zyla bowed her head like a daughter waiting for her mother's judgement after a very bad act. She felt like covering her whole face with the napkin in front of her, due to the great amount of shame that his eyes are inserting inside of her.

Surprisingly, raising her head up she saw the thin line that spread on his gentle face. He blinks his eyes, ever so gently, making her shiver in a critical type of emotion.

"Can you stop staring at me like that?"

"Why? I'm getting on your nerves?"

Zyla bites her inner lip with the hope of him becoming blind immediately he feels like staring at her anywhere, anytime.

"I don't think hunters has nerves"

"They do kill. That doesn't mean they don't have emotions"

Zyla creases a brow and Zadok does the same.

"Can you please allow me to eat this delicacy of yours in peace?"

Zadok doesn't reply, but enhances his stare with a smirk.

"Sure. Why not?"

His voice gives Zyla the chills. Why does he have to be such a meany and a pervert?

"What about that Nathan guy? Still asleep?"

Zyla tries to bring another topic up.

"Hunting for various source of blood"

Zadok eats so calmly, without noticing the slow look of Zyla towards him.

"Blood?"

"He's a vampire?"

The knife and spoon in Zyla's hand drops with her mind ticking and spinning like a clock. Vampire? How true is this?

"What's wrong"

The eyes of Zadok shows concern and something that wasn't there a moment ago, sparks up in his eyes.

Even Zyla noticed it when she looked up at him.

"Vampires are here too?"

"You're in the arena of Wolves, Foxes and Vampires"

Not only wolves, but vampires and foxes?

Haley that made that sentence walks to the table of Zyla and Zadok from behind alongside with Gandrel.

"I am a wolf and so with Prince Zadok and Lorn"

Zyla turns to her back to get a proper view of Lorn, who is seated on his seat and having his meal peacefully.

He doesn't seem to notice Haley call his name.

Zyla turns to Gandrel with curiosity in her eyes.

"And you are?"

"A fox"

{I can imagine his cute snout}

Her eyes slowly returns to Zadok who got his hair packed neatly and staring at her with those woman eyes of his and his beautiful face can really not make a difference.

"Why is it only you and Nate that are different?"

****

Haley and Gandrel turns to Zadok who's eyes are on me.

Even Lorn from behind me, stands up from his seat and walks towards my right hand side, while the two standing by my left still got their eyes fixed on Zadok.

"There are many reasons"

Something's off about this guy.

Zadok stares at me without blinking. His eyes gradually changing colors... From blue...

To green.

What's happening?

"Zadok?..." I call but he doesn't reply.

The others stares at him and the same thing is happening to them.

What is all these wolf nonsense that's happening?

Argh... I get tired whenever I become the heroine of many situations.

I quickly stand up from the seat I am on and walk upto him, settling my hand on his chest unconsciously.

Even if I know what I just did.

"Zadok? Are you here?"

****

So what happened to Zadok? I'm curious!
