1 Noah

In the darkness of the night, there was one house that stood out from the others. All of a sudden a loud cry sounded out.

"It's a boy Amanda, congratulations!"

Inside the house stood a woman in the clothing of a Christian Nun holding what could only be called a newborn human covered in blood.

"Thank you, Priestess Maya. Can I hold him now?"

These words came out of a man's mouth as he made puppy eyes towards the nun, the sight was pretty odd as the man in question was a brunette, who had some distinctive facial features while having a body of an athlete.

He had long eyelashes with deep blue eyes, sharp facial features, and a noticeably defined jawline with a stumble while standing tall at 194 cm, which in this world wouldn't really be considered that tall taking into account the genetic superiority that other races had over humans.

But, unlike what his stature presented him as, he had a bright smile on his face along with tears of joy streaming out of his eyes. This was of course because he had just witnessed the birth of his firstborn son.

"Hold him with care Nelson, He is just a little child, not a training dummy."

"Okay Amanda, I got it, honey, also I am not that much of a meathead."

Nelson burst out laughing, he happily took his child into his arms and placed his other arm around the shoulder of the woman that was resting in the bed. This woman was Amanda, his wife, and she had just given birth to her and Nelson's firstborn.

Soon the couple started rejoicing as they heard their son's first cry and before they realized it, all their worries had gone down the drain, and a smile was plastered on their faces as if this was the greatest thing that ever happened to them.

"Honey, are you sure you really want to name him that?"

Nelson asked while smiling wryly.

"Nelson, I told you already that I am not going to change my mind, we had previously decided that if it is a boy then we are going to give him your grandfather's name."

"Okay, I guess I should start calling this Noah my grandpa as well."

Another round of contagious laughter roared in the room as the parents couldn't hold their happiness inside, but this time around the Priestess also joined along after hearing these stupid words come out of the father's mouth.

*****

"WHERE IS MY HELMET, HONEY I AM GETTING LATE FOR GUARD DUTY."

"Pa- It is widh meee!!" (Pa, it is with me)

"Noah! You little misfit where is it, quick get it for me." Nelson says with a smile after hearing the response from the youngling.

After hearing his father's words Noah swiftly starts crawling under the bed like a crawler from Resi*ent Ev*l and after a short while he came out from underneath with his father's helmet.

"Pa, I found it!" Noah handed the helmet to his father with a bright smile across his face, so bright that we could see two teeth gaps in his smile.

'God, I wonder what else he has hidden under that bed.'

As Nelson was thinking about what sort of stuff had Noah been hogging, he heard his wife call out for him from the kitchen.

"Nelson! I made some snacks for you to take along. Here take these, also you do remember what day it is supposed to be today, right?"

"Yes Honey, I know I know, today is our anniversary day."

'Haha, You won't catch me slacking today woman, I have been training this for a whole year now.'

"You fool, tonight is the night Noah turns 5, you know what that means right? Also just so you know, our anniversary had already passed 1 week ago, This really calls for some chopping."

As Amanda said that she started pulling her sleeves up towards her forearms, it was as if she was preparing to butcher some meat, but instead of just any meat, her eyes were glued towards a very specific part on Nelson's body.

'FCK! RUN RUN RUN QUICK!'

Suddenly Nelson started going into panic mode as he started thinking of ways to avoid this so-called punishment.

"OKAY HONEY I GOT IT, I WILL BE BACK BY EVENING TODAY!"

Swiftly Nelson took the basket with his lunch from the table, quickly wore his helmet, and hurried out of the house.

As for why a child's 5th birthday was important, in this world, every kid at the age of 5 awakens their conscious system which guides them throughout their life. This system is also greatly important as it is the key for humans of this world to advance with their jobs and classes.

"Hey Little Pumpkin, why are you reading again, I think I told you to go outside and play with the neighbor's kid."

Amanda said while looking at Noah who had a book as large as his face placed on his lap as he was excitedly flipping the pages.

"BUT MAAA, Those kids are weird... th- they eat.. mud."

"Oh, look at you calling children above your age kids." Amanda proceeded to let out a deep sigh.

"See Noah, I know how hard it is for you to make friends, you know, I was exactly like you when I was younger, but at least even then I had one friend."

"Yes Ma, you told me this before, Pa was your friend before he was Pa..."

'I guess this is what they mean by the saying children take after their parents, my introverted genes have thrown his childhood down the gutter, well at least I can buy him some books for his birthday.'

"Ma can you please tell me the story about the Knight of Flames again, PLEASE MA! PRETTYY PLEASSEEE!"

"Hey hey kiddo, relax, it will be time for your nap soon, I can read you the book then, but right now let me get some of these chores done."

"YAAAAYYYYY!"

*****

What followed soon was another deep sigh from Amanda as she spotted Noah from the corner of her eyes as he was waiting for her to finish her chores.

She started smiling before she went over and pick Noah up in her arms while also carrying the book that he was holding previously.

She then placed Noah on the bed and covered him up with a blanket while she herself sat on the bedside while holding the book. After tucking Noah in the bedding she started caressing his head.

The child had already started resembling his father as he had his father's signature deep blue eyes. But unlike his father the kid was very smart and cunning, he knew how to get his parents to do what he wanted them to do, he would also use this cunningness to get new books and gifts.

Let's just say the kid was a rascal that was too smart for his own good and but sadly he had an ambivert personality.

As soon as Noah got all cozied up he nodded to his mother as a signal to start narrating the story to him. This prompt was also understood by Amanda as she started reading the book out loud.

"There was once a knight who had after completing the trial of fire and gained the complete support of the fire spirits."

"This knight was known as the great swordsman Iren Walton who had the title of the Crown Prince in the Kingdom of Fire, the firstborn child of King Erwin"

"He had begun his journey to get stronger after discovering a prophecy that a calamity was soon going to descend upon the Kingdom."

"The prince along with his armed force went on a journey to get the help of the most famous adventurers of the Fire Kingdom to defend against the calamity..."

"But before the Prince's return, the calamity had already shown up as a Twelve-Headed Frost Hydra started invading their country from the North. During this era, there weren't any adventurer that was strong enough to face SSS Rank monsters."

"This made the Dragon's journey towards the Capital a breeze, decimating town and city that came in its path."

"But just as the Dragon showed up to the Capital, something unexpected had happened. The Crown Prince had shown up, but this time he wasn't there just with his forces, he was also joined by several famous S Rank Adventurers."

"During his adventures, he himself had also made one of the biggest accomplishments known to mankind, he had gained enough feats to advance his Class to SSS, something none of the Humans had previously accomplished."

"With his mastery over the element of fire that he had gained from his new class and his abundant amount of mana, he was able to severely injure the calamity to the point that the Twelve-Headed Frost Hydra had to retreat back to his nest in the Northern Kingdom of Everice to recover."

"After the furious battle, the Crown Prince ascended to the throne and married the girl of his dreams and lived happi- Oh he is asleep, well that's good, I should go get back to doing my chores."

As Amanda got back to work and started preparing the feast she had previously planned for tonight, time passed by quickly. Soon we were greeted by Nelson who was back from his guard duty at the Adventurer's guild.

Nelson always dreamed of being an adventurer but unfortunately, he was never able to do that as his stats weren't that promising and he already had too many commitments.

He also didn't have enough drive to go on and spend hours training as instead, he could just spend that time with his childhood sweetheart Amanda. Who, he had gotten married to in their early twenties and after that, he decided to settle down advancing his class to WindSlasher.

As cool as the name may sound, the class only provided him some authority to use his pitiful amount of mana and wind affinity to increase his damage output by allowing him to manipulate wind and get creative with his attacks.

This was still very helpful to land him a job as a head guard at the adventurer's guild which earned him enough silver coins every month to live a peaceful middle-low class life. As long as there weren't any chronic health problems their family would be fine with living as they are right now.

Name: Noah

Race: Human

Class: Non

Strength: 2

Agility: 3

Endurance: 2

Vitality: 3

Intelligence: 5

Charisma: 6

"Did I see that correctly? I understand Charisma being 6 but Intelligence at 5? This is nuts, if he keeps up with this he can gain a really good mana pool! Also, it doesn't make sense how his intelligence is almost as high as mine while having such weak physical stats..."

"Of course Nelson, he is still just a child, I think you are forgetting how you have already gone through your first class advancement. His stats aren't that bad when you look at a normal adult's stats, most people in the village just have 5 points in all of our stats, it's just that you are absurdly strong."

"Honey, Doesn't that mean he has great potential to be a swordsman, maybe he can become something above a C Rank Adventurer!"

"I- Nelson! I told you that we are not going to push him into doing anything, I want our child to be free to choose what he wants for himself."

"But Honey, you already know... he needs to learn to use a sword no matter what happens. We both know it's for his own good, you remember where our village is located right?"

Nelson started to talk slowly to get his point across to her while she tried her best to make an argument against it. But even she recognized that what he said was right and that they had to train their child to make sure he doesn't fall prey to this ruthless world.

"I will try my best not to hurt him, I need to make sure to pass all my knowledge about survival to him. But what he will do with that knowledge is up to him."

Nelson cracked a smile and started to caress his son's head while bringing his wife closer to his chest.
