Not of this world

"Yeah, I guess it makes sense that I won't be able to use magic. Is it so shocking to have someone come from another world? Has it never happened before?" Arthur states and then asks back as he sees Lily's frozen face in shock. 

She rapidly nods her head like a frightened squirrel as her mind struggles to process the new information she just received, not able to get out a single word. 

"Yes, it is shocking, or yes, it has happened before?" Arthur asks, trying to clear up his own confusion to her nods. 

"Uhm, I have never heard of anyone coming from another world or anything like that before. So yes, it is absolutely shocking!" Lily blurts out after taking a deep breath to calm herself. "For the most part, other worlds have never even been a confirmed thing until now. At least that is what the majority belief is on the matter." 

"I see. That is unexpected. From how that shitty god spoke, it felt like I was not the first. Or maybe I am just the first known otherworlder to the people here. Or they could have just died. Unless I could truly be the first. If so, I will make sure I am also the last." Arthur mutters in thought. 

"So you are really from another world? What is it like? Ah, I want to see another world!" Lily starts to say with stars in her eyes as she imagines what another world could be like. 

"Yeah, and though my memories are now a little hazy from my life there as it was so long ago, I know that I enjoyed my life there. Also, it is very different than this world." Arthur states as he scratches the back of his head, trying to remember details of his life on Earth, but comes up mostly blank or with just foggy memories. 

"That is so freaking cool! it must have been a safer world then. I would love to see it if I could!" She replies excitedly.

"I wouldn't really say it is safer. Sure, the dangers aren't as blatant as they are here, but still the world is just as dangerous. In fact, I think I still prefer this part of this world compared to Earth. You never know what could happen there, and when something does happen, there is not much you can do. Here, though, you can get stronger enough to do anything. I prefer when you know about the dangers other than the hidden ones back home." Arthur states calmly as he analyzes the differences. 

"Oh, but you enjoyed your life there?" She asks back curiously, hearing about the hidden dangers and troubles that plague this otherworld. 

"Definitely, as Earth had some amazing entertainment and some of the best food and drinks you could think of. "So, even if the world might be just as bad if not worse than this world, it had things that made it enjoyable in the end." 

"Wow, sounds amazing, especially the food part! I think I would miss magic, though, since you said your world does not have it." Lily sighs at the end. 

"I think that no matter where you go, there will be something missed from where you left. For me, I did not get a choice in the matter, which is why I am on the path that I am." Arthur replies. 

"Since I can't use magic, I will just continue to get stronger the same way I always have been. As for you, I guess we can start the beginning of your training. Heh, you ready?" Arthur says with an evil grin. 

"How hard will it be? Will there be a lot of pain?" Lily asks meekly as she shows a reticent expression. 

"Yes." He replies back matter-of-factly. 

"Alright. I can do it. I can do it." She says, siking herself up as this is something that she herself wanted from the beginning. 

"Good. Now that I can move somewhat. Come! Like you want to kill me! No magic, just your physical body, come!" Arthur says confidently as he stands up, showing his imposing aura even with his injured body. 

"Are you sure? You are still injured?" Lily asks back, worried, while she stands up in turn. 

"Heh, for you, I still think this might not be enough of a handicap for you. I might accidentally kill you." He smirks in return. 

"Fine! Don't complain to me if your wounds get worse." She snorts and readies herself in a combat stance. 

It looked like she at least had basic non-magical combat training as she had an experienced look to her for how she took her stance. She took a stance that was very similar to the kung-fu martial arts stances one would see back on Earth, though more animalistic in nature. She almost had a feral look to her, like she was about to hunt prey. 

Maybe that is how she learned the combat arts she is about to use, hunting with her tribe. If so, it would make her training somewhat quicker and easier if she has a base to build from. 

"Took too long!" Arthur states as he appears right in front of her, punching her in the gut, sending her tumbling back until she lands outside the cave. Arthur, however, does not let up, as he appears once more by her side, as she still tumbles back. He then kicks her, sending her flying in another direction. 

He is, however, holding back as much strength as he can and, in fact, did little actual damage to her other than some bruising on her skin. The power was still plenty to send her rolling. 

"Cough-cough!" She stands up shakily as she glares at Arthur. "How is this training?" She demands in a frustrated voice as she feels as if she can't do anything and is just getting beat up. 

"Simple. Just get used to it until you can fight back. Until then, well, endure." He replies calmly as he comes down from the sky, grabs her head, and slams her into the barren ground.
