The One

'Saphira come.'

Saphira suddenly materialized out of thin air and landed on the floor shaking the floor a little. She gave off a threatening low growl, forcing them to halt their advances. They were a bit skeptical.

Dragons were known to possess heaven-defying combat abilities.

"What are you guys cowering for?" A menacing dark elf walked forward. "Everybody knows dragons can only cower in their little prison. This is at most a summoned dragon and even if it's the real thing, it's just a baby dragon."

"Yeah! If we kill it and bring its carcass to any kingdom, we'll be rewarded handsomely."

The mention of money seemed to knock them out of their daze and revitalize their brains and they immediately sprang into action.

Lucian stood still holding his sword tightly. He blocked the first strikes from two men upfront and weaved into their middle placing a hand on one of the bandit's torso, blowing his guts out with a fireball. Saphira sent a couple of lightning bolts into their midst, giving her master enough time to slay two of the bandits, receiving a heavy cut across his back in the process.

He jumped back, watching the bandits in anger as he stretched his hand, a healing potion materializing in his hands. He popped the cap and downed the content in one gulp. The wound on his back felt cold for a short second before immediately closing up.

'Oh? That's even better than I expected.'

A member of the bandits at the back paused for a second as the rest of them advanced.

'A dragon companion, plus that space magic, he just did couple with that regeneration speed. He definitely has to be the one, I can't be wrong. I have to report this.'

He slowly slipped out of the midst of the bandits.

Lucian notices him leaving but was too occupied by the rest charging towards him to put too much thought into it.

He downed a magika regeneration potion and dashed forward to meet them.

The first bandit lunged at Lucian with a reckless swing, but Lucian parried almost effortlessly, countering with a quick strike to his head using the end of his sword. The bandit slumped, falling backwards. Before the others could react, Lucian spun, slashing through the air to create a defensive barrier, forcing the bandits to cautiously approach.

The second bandit, more agile than the first, attempted a series of quick strikes, but Lucian skillfully dodged and retaliated, sending him spiraling to the ground following up with a firebolt that silenced him for good.

Meanwhile, the third and fourth bandits closed in from different angles, forcing Lucian to transition between offense and defense.

As the fifth bandit, attempted a surprise attack from behind, Saphira lunged towards him, sinking her teeth into his flesh and simultaneously powering up, sending continuous surges of lightning through his body until he dried up, resembling a husk.

Seeing this out of the corner of his eye, Lucian focused completely on the two bandits in front of him.

He parried one of their attacks and dragged the bandit towards himself. The other bandit could not stop his attack in time and stabbed through his chest, ending his life almost immediately.

Taking advantage of his shock, Lucian kicked him in his stomach with so much force than his body was slightly lifted upwards before immediately bending over and spitting out a mouthful of blood and saliva, he struggled to look up only to barely catch a gleam of Lucian sword as it sliced off his head.

The last bandit was struggling to get back up when Lucian threw his sword into his back, ending the entire battle.
