1 MY ARRIVAL

When the sun peeked out of the horizon and cast its beautiful shine all over the world, a stroke of brilliant light brightened our bus.

I who was already feeling uncomfortable due to the bus situation rolled onto the other side of the seat to hastily cover my face to protect it from the all-encompassing sunlight.

Unlike what the scenario around the world was, ours didn't have a great bus service at the time.

No matter which bus you choose in the end and whichever manufacturer had made the mistake to design it, they made sure that the journey would always be remembered.

I didn't have a problem with the idea, just the way of execution behind making people remember the experience.

The seat itself was quite small even from the point of view of a normal citizen of India, much less for someone like me who looked like an overgrown middle-aged man at the peak of his youth.

I remember standing at a height of 5 foot 10 and was considered to be heavy by the people around me.

when I first assumed my uncomfortable position on the bus, I never expected it to be so small that my buttocks were protruding outside.

Nonetheless, I decided to ignore the discomfort( It makes me filled with awe that I was able to do that at one point in time), and laid myself, no sit, lay over the seat.

From the very first moment my back hit the seat, I decided to move around until I found myself the perfect gap which could accommodate my entire being and allow me to make this journey with peace.

Eventually, God decided to reward me with a seat and I was able to assume the perfect position for surviving through the trip to my destined location.

.....

When the morning sun assaulted my window, and I decided to move around to get myself out of its reach, the heat began to take over the previously cool atmosphere

Traveling at the peak of summer wasn't a good option by any angle. Yet my parents somehow decided that it was the best time to relocate to a whole new city where we had zero experience of living.

It was early morning, probably 6 AM, yet the sun was starting to get merciless. It was showering the entire city with its burning hot rays, and I was asked to enjoy the new atmosphere by riding my bike for the next 15 kilometers.

Needless to say, I agreed to it with enthusiasm that filled my body and began to ride my bike in the middle of a whole new city, following the auto that was carrying my parents and whatever luggage we carried with us.

We passed through the main road and got into what looked like a bit shady of a side-path. The board preceding the road read 'Sainik-School' ( loose translation into an army school or a school for soldiers).

As I made my way through it, I saw the natives of the area going along the road in hopes of fulfilling their daily routine.

Some of them even turned around to give me an inquisition be look. It wasn't often that a man of 5 foot 10 would ride a bike across their alley while wearing his boxers. The scene still makes me smile.

As I made my way through the streets to a 3 story house that was supposed to be our new home.

It was already 7 AM, and students from all around were rushing to the school which was soon going to be my education hub too.

I leaped out of my cycle, saw the scenery all around, and breathed the air of the city. Although I have been alive all this time, the air seems to have a new feeling to it.

Maybe it was the smell, or the change in the composition altogether, it felt different.

I looked around and made a rough note that this was going to be my new home.

I soon entered our future home, greeted the landlords, and made my way to the top floor.

It was only then that I realized what a pain in the ass living on the top floor was going to be.

I got to the top, saw the majestic view of the school in front, and said to myself.

" I am totally up for a new challenge."

I ran down to change my clothes and prepare for the trip to get myself admitted.
