15 Meeting with the Arch-Bishop

Aaron began his walk along the road leading up to the Holy Church, as Yua and Light followed along behind him. Aaron opened the doors, and was surprised to find a reception room. It wasn't based around electricity, but instead used some form of conditional magic to make light appear.

Aaron walked up to a desk, where a male worker resided.

"Excuse me. Would I be able to get an audience with the Arch-Bishop?"

"Sorry, only people who have made an appointment with him are able to see him", the worker explained.

"Oh, don't worry about it. Just tell him that Aaron Stone requests an audience with him."

"Alright, give me a second."

The worker picked up a red cube, as it began to glow, and he spoke into it.

"Arch-Bishop. A man named Aaron Stone has come to see you."

There was some unintelligible words returning from the cube, before placing the cube on the desk, letting the glow fade away.

"You are to visit the Arch-Bishop immediately. I have been told to direct you to him."

The worker walked towards a door near the back of the reception area, and indicated for Aaron to follow through. He walked through, his wings curling in so that they could pass through the door. Aaron didn't expect Yua and Light to be let through, but they followed behind him. He walked along a large pathway, where his wings uncurling. It was weird curling in the wings. They felt more natural being at their full length.

Aaron was brought to a large door with Holy Markings on them, although he wasn't able to tell specifically what they meant, he was guessing it meant something about killing monsters.

"This is where I leave you. Enjoy your audience with the Arch-Bishop."

The worker then walked away, leaving Aaron, Yua, and Light at the door. He put his hands on the double door, as he opened them up. He passed through, Yua and Light following behind.

"Ah, it's Aaron Stone! Last time I saw you, it was two days ago! How have you been doing?", the Arch-Bishop asked.

"Oh, nothing much, just getting stronger, getting some money, got myself some assistance", Aaron responded.

"Oh, you learned how to talk? That makes things much easier! Also, where did you get that armour? Doesn't look like any armour we sell here. Also, on top of that, nice wings."

"Oh, it's my own, customised armour. I got it by doing some things."

It would be fully safe to assume that Light and Yua were confused as hell. They even shared the same thought.

'He only learned to talk in the last two days?!'

The Arch-Bishop invited him to sit down, so he did.

"Do your 'assistants' know of what you are?"

"No, not yet. Should I show them?"

"Ah, go ahead. Let's watch their reactions."

Aaron placed his hands on his helmet, and he took off the helmet slowly, revealing to them that he was a skeleton. Their jaws dropped.

Yua and Light had not said an entire word since they were purchased about five to ten minutes ago, but this was the first sentence that came of of their mouths, surprisingly, being the same.

"What the fuck?"

Aaron and the Arch-Bishop began laughing. It was hilarious seeing their reactions. Nobody else bar them, the Arch-Bishop, and Laurel Anarpov knew he was a skeleton.

"See, Aaron! Their reactions are priceless! Man, it must be so weird having a monster purchased by another monster!"

"It would be. They didn't know I was a monster until now. Don't think they expected a Skeleton with wings."

"Of course we didn't! It defies all laws of evolution! And plus, how did a skeleton get custom armour? They would die a thousand times before they'd get some here, and even then it would be something like a leather armband", Yua blurted out.

"I have to agree with Yua. No skeleton should he able to grow wings, and to make it even stranger, you haven't been killed by the Holy Church", Light pointed out. It has now been determined that Light is a male.

"Well, as you can probably tell, I am no ordinary skeleton. I have enough MP to destroy the entire first floor of the dungeon. Possibly. My MP stat says 'Boundless'."

This made everyone in the room almost faint. A single skeleton with that much power? That's just unfair.

"Hey, Aaron. If possible, can you pull up this 'Boundless' stat for me? I want to see if I can use Holy Magic to find an answer to how much MP you have."

"Go right ahead. Let's see if there's a limit."

Aaron pulled up his stat screen, and projected the [MP] stat for everyone to see. It truly did say [MP: Boundless].

The Arch-Bishop coated himself in a yellow light, as he began swiping at the air, presumably going through the levels of mana he possessed. His face grew paler and paler with every passing second.

The Arch-Bishop stopped being coated in the yellow light, as he sat back in his chair, a scared look on his face.

"There was no end... The mana just kept on coming. It was....boundless...."

This was just too much for Yua. All of her knowledge about monsters was being flung out of the window by this one singular skeleton. The black substance on her body spread up her body just a small bit. She fell backwards, Light using his tail to catch her.

"Well, the stat does say Boundless on it, so I might as well use it. Also, want to see something cool, Arch-Bishop?"

"Oh dear god. What do you plan to show me?"

Aaron snapped his fingers for dramatic effect, lifting the chair he was sitting on, the Arch-Bishops chair, while he was on it, and the table into the air.

"Ever heard of telekinesis?"

The Arch-Bishop looked down towards the ground, and realised that he was sitting on a floating chair.

"Oh fuck put me down put me down put me down!"

"Alrighty then."

Aaron slowly lowered the telekinetically affected items to the floor, as his face kept its permanent grin.

"Aaron, what the fuck have you done to get that power!?"

"I threw away my limits. I became...."

"Boundless."
