episode 51 Repeating history but worse

"Wreck", "Keti" and "Fey" are at the cafeteria with "Seth" eating burgers, "Wreck" is still unhappy even when eating fries.

Keti: (can't you at least smile for once? Or there's something you know about this place that you wouldn't tell us? Anyhow maybe he's uncomfortable with talking about this) [sigh] so, why don't we just forget that we're actually in the demon hunter association and talk about something else? Like how your kind differs from earth in a body language.

Wreck: [happy] sure, I can talk about the lore of "Skarven" right now, could fill up the mood of things.

Fey: [interested] please do.

Seth: [confused] "Skarven" lore? I've never heard of that.

Wreck: in lore of "Skarven", the first lore…make sure you have enough supply of food and love for your children, and that includes having a bond or a Familia.

Keti: Familia?

Seth: it's about taming a mystical beast that you could find around when hunting demons, it's quite rare to find one though.

Wreck: the second lore…parents must make sure.

Keti: (coming with parents now)?

Wreck: that their children at the age of 4 shall stay in the library for about 730 days least.

Keti: [surprised] heh?

Wreck: children in the library can either work as librarians or clerks or they could just read as many books as possible, janitors and workers must provide food and service for the children, showers and dorms are also provided in libraries where any child could sleep in, better write your name or else the spot is taken.

Seth: seems you had a rough time.

Wreck: nah, only 3.8% of the children in the library are uncomfortable with this kind of stuff, they feel like they are prisoners or slaves that never get out, "Albert Willingly" must have done it too.

Keti: yeah right, ([yell] what the hell, dad? Is this why you won't let me leave the library)?

Wreck: by the way, if a child has read all the books available will be transferred to a different location.

Fey: boring, can we move on to the next lore?

Wreck: yes, now the third lore…74 days of exams, never skip one or you'll have to go for the worst, it doesn't matter if you got all the exams right or wrong, the important thing is that you finish it.

Keti: who's grading all of this?

Wreck: all instructors are strangers; they are to grade everything even during the exams.

Keti: [confused] (my god, I feel like my tummy is growling, crumbling inside out just by hearing all this).

Wreck: the fourth lore, the greatest of all times, after 74 days of exams you will get your classification in where ever you go because your grading records will be everywhere, plus you'll be set free from all of these undesirable moments of your life, do what works for you, you can either go to college or look for work around the city, and besides…it's not weird to let a 7-year-old child work, is it?

Fey: that explains why "Keti" is so smart, did you actually stay in the library for 2 whole years?

Keti: [smile with tears] …yes, I wish I hadn't.

"Seth" suddenly gets a phone call; he picks up and listens.

Seth: [hang up] alright, looks like the captain is available now, we'll be heading to the meeting room.

They all headed to the meeting room and there they see "Aika" and "Mirune", even "Peri" is there sitting with his sword hanging out, and the captain "Yarui" sitting on her desk, "Aika" stood up from her seat shocked as she looks at "Wreck".

Aika: that's him! "Kalibur", was it?

Mirune: the child who defeated that higher demon, we haven't even introduced ourselves.

Keti: [surprised] "Peri"?

Peri: oh, hi little sis, didn't know you were gonna be here.

Yarui: "Seth"! I see you're bringing guests along.

Seth: yes ma'am, these children have something to discuss with you.

Wreck: this isn't how I thought it would go.

Keti: me neither, is this why my brother is going on a patrol?! Protecting me by joining this association?

Yarui: anyway, we have found a few trails of demon scouts around the city, the moment they saw us they just went back, something was off as if they're tracking a certain someone for some reason so, we better find that person before they do.

Keti: (they're on to us already)?

Aika: but first, we need to question the one who knows more about demons, we've seen things…that don't exactly match on how we deal it.

Yarui: and you're point is?

Mirune: the higher demon we fought just suddenly turned to stone and shattered to pieces before we could even kill it.

Aika: we suspected the child was involved when it happened.

Yarui: you got anything to say about this, child? Or maybe those 2 are just accusing the witnesses.

Keti: you don't have to--.

Wreck: it's fine, I admit... I know many demons even though I never went to the underworld nor have I met them, I believe what they are doing is just the beginning, that "Samael" isn't aware on what he's trying to track down, none of us do, but if we could just find the answer to what leads them to the overworld it would definitely lead us to where it's coming from.

Yarui: that's a good point kid, what's your name?

Wreck: my name's "Wreck".

Aika: "Wreck"? didn't that demon call you "Kalibur Alverice"?

Wreck: oh, right, that, it's just about that one legend, they call the first to wield the magic eye "Kalibur Alverice", for those who knows him would think I'm some kind of reincarnation in their eyes.

Keti: …are you sure it's fine?

Wreck: we're not going to cause any troubles; it's fine coming here just t--.

Keti: you're lying!! You just say it's fine but there is something about this place troubles you the most, I'm not fine when you call it a classified information which makes it an excuse to not provide any further information, if you won't say anything then why don't we just go home.

Wreck: …[angry] you want the truth? I got one for you…I've read about the demon hunter association in a book once, it says demon hunters worked for generations to patrol the overworld against the demons, they were to execute any demon that steps foot on earth, that is the main featured rule all hunters must follow, even shutting down the gates is the number one priority to reduce the number of demons appearing.

Yarui: [suspect] and what's so wrong about that?

Wreck: I wouldn't know why the hunters would take too far as to capture the demons and torture them here.

Mirune: I've never seen demons in the hunter association before, none would dare step foots here.

Wreck: yeah, I know…that's why there's an underground chamber, it's where they use the demons as if they were test subjects…most of them were down there for centuries.

Yarui: …and you're telling us it is wrong to research the demons by experimenting on them?

Wreck: if I tell you that humans and demons are the same, would you believe me? I mean clearly, I've researched in the demonology that there are cities in the underworld, nobles and higher beings feed on the lesser ones just like humans do, what if I told you…there was a noble amongst those demons, tortured here and died without any second thoughts.

Seth: what do you mean noble? Demons are all the same, that's what I hear all day.

Wreck: a noble you should never had messed with, now that the demon household knows of her disappearance, they will not rest till they find and eradicate this place once and for all.

Peri: if the noble died years ago couldn't they find the right time to strike before we could even get the chance to get stronger? What are we facing exactly?

Wreck: "Guthera Supergia", she will not rest till you either give her back what belongs to her or she would take her revenge upon the hunter association.

Keti: "Guthera"?!

Seth: now we understand what's coming we better prepare for it.

Wreck: "Guthera" is dangerous, since you took her dreams away, she's becoming more and more destructive than any higher demon, she might have already become a demon lord.

Mirune: …so, are we going to release the demons that are--?

Yarui: we don't have to, what she seeks might have already been gone a long time ago, she has no choice but to take revenge upon us.

Wreck: free the demons, I can escort them back to the underworld, they won't know how to get back here.

Yarui: there are high risks to freeing the demons that were captured, do you think you can control them?

Wreck: better than keeping them like hostages, this place is already in a law violation that was written in the history.

Yarui: [angry] all that you're saying goes to helping the demons to destroy the city.

Wreck: [angry] all you're doing is making the same lineup, repeating history but worse!!

Yarui: … "Aika", "Mirune", patrol duty.

Aika: fine by me.

Yarui: "Peri", search for demons in alleys, dispose of them, "Seth" … you are to escort those 3 whenever you can, the rest are dismissed.

The hunters leaves the room except for "Seth" and "Yarui".

Yarui: you didn't come here just to talk big like that, did you?

Keti: sorry, it was my fault it came to this, but we actually came here to ask you some questions, you didn't forget, did you?

Wreck: … have you ever been in the underworld before?

Yarui: and what about it? It's not like something special was down there.

Wreck: does purgatory ring a bell? We were wondering if you would know something about it.

Yarui: …I've been in purgatory before, hell lots of beasts, but… coming back was never that easy… why are you asking me this?

Keti: not like you brought any souvenirs from there? We just need some clues to what you saw, anything.

Yarui: …I've met an unknown demon, or should I say…an unknown figure, gave me a box, it was locked and highly secured we tried to crack it open but nothing works for it, as if the box itself refuses to open.

Keti: that's when you come in, right? You can bust open the box.

Wreck: if it leads to what we need to know then I better open it.

Yarui: … "Kalibur".

Wreck: my name's "Wreck".

Yarui: if you ever want to release those demons from here, I'm not the person you're looking for, it's the council of the elite…if it was written in the book then you know what consequences you must face.

"Yarui" takes them to her room and gives them the box, it looks so burnt and the lock has a unique feature like nothing they've ever seen.

Yarui: we tried every method of opening, nothing really works.

Wreck: have you tried asking the demons how to crack it?

"Wreck" opens it like it was no big deal, "Seth" and "Yarui" were shocked when they saw it.

Yarui: what did you do?

Wreck: shifter's touch, capable of shifting anything, for something as hard as this I can open it easily.

Seth: (so that's how he can defeat such higher demons! He can use shifter's touch to transform hard objects to fragile, such ability even exists)?

"Wreck" pulls out a paper that has a non-earthly writing on it.

Keti: is this how demon language looks like?

Wreck: this is "Svargalian" language, I can understand it…it says "greetings seekers".

Seth: and what of the bottom part?

Wreck: oh, that's "Edokanian", it says "retrieve crimson troupe fire ingot".

Fey: more cases to be solved, but where does this lead?

Wreck: the crimson troupe fire ingot is the type of modifier that can be applied to any gear existing, what it does is it gives you one modifier of your choosing after applying it, could be a life steal, frost blade, hell fire blade, invincibility, or you could choose the awakening blade.

Seth: sounds like anyone would want to spill their hands for that kind of material! How do you even make it?

Wreck: through rituals…I'm just gonna skip everything and go with alchemy, the method of transmutation, let's go.

Fey: back home?

Wreck: creating that ingot takes a lot of time to make, and no, replicating the ingot is basically not that easy to make, I need to do the whole process of creating it than to use shifter's touch.

Yarui: interesting, [laugh] it seems I underestimated you, to such material that even exist you look like a newbie midget, but you sound like an expert…hope we see each other sometimes later.

Wreck: alright, then I'll see you somehow.

The 3 of them left the room through the "Egress" gate and "Seth" got dragged in with them.

Yarui: [sit down, sigh] …so much for an expert…that kid really had put a lot of pressure into himself…guess I shouldn't worry too much and focus on getting ready for an attack, if that were true.

She suddenly started gazing at the symbols of the "Egress" gate wondering what kind of sorcery it is.
