*LYNN'S POV*

...

Our world is in dire danger.

Black smoke engulfs the sky by day, then by night. These toxic wastes that we put up everywhere is what kills us in the end. In this kind of generation, nobody even cares about the world anymore, many of us engages more in technology than real conversations, others throw trash anywhere and everywhere without knowing how it could affect the future. The youth nowadays never reflects on the basic principles of nature anymore, these people spend most of their time with friends, instead of helping what needs to be helped. Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, are things that are mostly talked about. Crime rates increasing, it's like everyday we get to see some heinious crimes being committed on the tv screens in our homes, where most of the times are used to binge watch Netflix films and pirated movies from torrents instead of knowing what's happening to our world, our earth. If we keep disregarding the important truths that we all get to face at some point in our lives, then I believe there is but a tiny fraction of hope left in the world. The downfall of our communities will decrease in efficiency and the future that we ambition might not shed light anymore, since everyone only cares about skin, money and love.

Every single day, our world is getting destroyed, fraction by fraction, which will eventually lead us to despair in the end. So if we don't do anything that could help this little planet of ours, then I don't think there is any hope anymore-

"Okay what's up with this existential shit. This is... Pretty depressing, "

I said as I held the thesis Social Studies paper of my "depressed" and "existential" boyfriend, Kent.

That was a joke.

Kent laughs, his bright white teeth shows itself. His brown kinda-golden hair flows in the afternoon breeze as class ended. His black eyes, light-brown skin and his usual kind of clothing style, a hoodie and pants. Weirdly, his hoodie color today is pastel blue, which isn't really his usual color.

He's more of a green person.

He's also pretty hot.

"Man, you didn't know how much I fucking wasted my whole entire week and time writing this depressing shit and in the end, I only got a 5/10 score? Jesus." He says, in a pretty jokingly agressive way.

*pft* I replied.

"Mine only took about... I don't know, two days, maybe, " I boasted, and... lied.

I made it in a month.

I opened my bag to get my thesis paper, crumpled, since I don't really care much about scores anyways, just exams and poof, I'm done. I'm still a freshmen and it's already starting to get hard.

I actually only got a 4.5/10

"How much did you get?" He curiously asked.

I smirk.

"What?" He added a laugh, "come on, let me see your paper." He reaches out to my paper as I quickly pulled it back.

He still goes forward and tries to get my paper, but I fling it side by side, not letting him get it.

"Stop! gaaahd!" We stopped struggling.

"I'll tell you, jeez" I smiled.

He crosses his arms and smirks at me, waiting to hear my result.

"BOO!"

Just as I opened my mouth to say my score, Iane suprised me by my back and almost fucking killed me.

"AHH!" I shouted, like a little fucking twee girl that I am.

Both Iane and Kent laugh.

Since I'm a bit asthmatic myself, I hyperventilate in shock. Not fucking funny.

"Funny," I said sarcastically.

"Hahaha nice one bro," as Kent and Iane did their usual bro handshake, something like a clap, then an arm fist fight, then a dab and then they throw something in the air and did the woah.

Sometimes I ask myself why am I even friends with these two weirdos.

Thankfully one of them is hot, so that's an exemption.

Iane's wearing a pastel yellow shirt with an unbuttoned white polo shirt, denim pants and grey Converse shoes.

Nice taste.

You know, Iane has like, one of the best clothing tastes in the Philippines, it's like everyday he seizes to amaze me with new clothes and pretty aesthetic ones too.

While here I am, wearing a boring grey jacket with a white shirt, denim pants and old red shoes that I just found in my closet.

He's also pretty cute, fluffy black hair, long eyelashes, fit and fair white-brown skin.

I just kinda wondered why he doesn't have a girlfriend, like, I would date him, but Kent did it first sooo.

"By the way, how much did you guys get for the thesis?" He asks as he looks at me and Kent, he then brags; "Heh, I got a 6/10, fucking passed baby!" He shouts in front of us.

In our school, Cagayan University, 60% of the total score is the passing grade, just wanted to add.

"I got a 5 sadly," Kent replies to Iane, "atleast my thesis is a bit true, right? I mean, you we're pretty depressed after you read mine," he points at me, still holding his paper and mine.

"Well okay, yeah, sure, I got... A 7"

Nice lie.

"A 7? Damn girl." Both said it at the same time.

"How the fuck did you-" I cut them off.

"-no just kidding, I got a 4.5," I honestly said to both of them, I also showed them my paper.

"A 4.5? Well... That's a..." Kent says, looking for excuses to feel me better.

Iane just stood there laughing at Kent thinking of things to say to me.

I wasn't really mad anyways, I didn't really care.

"-atleast you're better at other things... Like... Making sandwiches?" Kent added while winking and looking at Iane.

"Yep. Yes. YES. Your sandwiches are. AH-MAY-ZING. They fucking are." Iane agrees in a the most low key sarcastic way possible.

I laugh at the two idiots complimenting and pitying me.

"You guys are hopeless, Jesus" I continue to laugh.

The three of us laughed.

"Hahaha, but I did mean it though, you better make me some sandwiches later." Kent said.

"Wait... we're not going together? Now?" I asked, confused.

We we're supposed to go to my home and chill.

"Yeah... We need to go by Mike's house first, to get some things... Right?" Iane nudges Kent using his elbow.

"Yeah, yeah." Kent agreed and nodded.

"What's going on by Mike's?" I added. Curious.

"Well... That's because we--"

As Kent explains why, suddenly the world just stops time as I saw someone familiar.

I look to the side of Kent to find Chloe.

Kent's EX.

I try to wave at her, smiling, she was laughing at first but then she raises her arms, to show...

A fuck you.

Her squad laughing at me at a distance.

My smile turned upside down.

Chloe with her brown curly hair, her moreno skin tone, chiseled jaw line and beautiful brown eyes walked down the gate entrance with her group of friends, giving me a fuck you and just left, like that.

Chloe and Kent were together for like, a year, and we really good best friends too.

It's a long story, let's just say that it all ended because of me, and it still haunts me up until now.

Suddenly, time went back to normal, realizing that Kent just finished talkin to which I didn't understood any of it.

"So... Yeah" Kent added, "I'll just... I'll call you later, alright? When we're done." He asks, as if scared.

"Yeah... Yeah, yeah sure, just call me when you're going by my house." I exclaimed.

"Alright." Relieved.

Kent goes close to me and holds my face, as if reassuring that everything's going to be alright, which I know it will, as long as I'm by Kent's side.

His veiny hands touching my soft skin, like caressing a baby.

He places a finger by my chin and kisses me.

My eyes close by satisfaction.

"... Uh, Okay, okay," Iane says in the background, probably just by standing, looking at us kiss.

"Yo, let's go already," he points and touches Kent's back.

"Okay," he says, we stopped kissing.

"... See you later?" He asked.

"Mhm," I said.

"Okay," he nods and smiles.

"Bye," he waves at me as he and Iane goes backward.

I wave back at them, smiling.

And then that smile disappears.

I go backward and went home.
