Researcher Route: Observing Patient 115-118

*In this chapter and the next will be about Claire on what if she works for the SK Foundation*

Waking up from the dream was far too sinister, It was in the middle of a battle where the drones and the soldiers of SK Domination were to get Claire to terminate her as quickly as possible in order for them to thrive and finally execute their primary plan, that is to stop the doomsday clock.

The doomsday clock is when the time is finally near to end of the world by the dark powers of the deep abyss located near the deep ocean, Claire can only rewind the destruction once she fulfills her destiny, which is to save everyone. She gently woke up from a dream and a knock on the door was heard.

"Claire, it's time for the task to finish."

A male voice was heard at the side of the door, and soon Claire fixes her bed and goes outside of her room, with her crew member named Lars on her side, they need to jot down the progress or results of the pills and masks handled by the patients of the SK Foundation.

A necessary way to undergo the effects of the SK Virus itself.

Walking to the office sees Dr. Sneer operating and tweaking the masks prepared for the patients in the future.

For now, they are just full of trials tested for the betterment of the experiment.

"Oh you're here. Please do work on jotting down any changes to the patients, just call me if you have an emergency, I'll be working on to stabilize the symptoms for the worse."

"Roger that boss."

Cheerfully says by Claire from her boss with the quiet senpai known as Lars.

After going to the long hallways, near the office were the hundreds of patients in line to write a procedure on what to do and not to do.

First was Visiting the successful patients that undergo the safe procedure, Claire stares longingly at the patient, playing a high level game with ease.

Claire asks the patient his name, "What is your name mister?"

"Mister? I am only 19. Don't call me that."

The patient continues to play as talking to an oblivious researcher.

"Then should I call you sir or what?"

"Just call me Zack, that would be fine."

Zack finished his sentences as the game was saved and was a successful game.

"Mind if I play 2nd player?" .

Claire eagerly asks Zack.

"Don't you have better things to do?

Like starting to jot down all the important notes or something?"

"C'mon, just a quick game."

Claire forces him by talking.

"Okay fine, what do you want to play?"

"How about the 'dominator's fight' that is logged in to your account?"

"I'm not arrogant but no one ever beats me in this type of game."

"Hehehe, believe me, or not I have a skill that can allow me to win that game, fair and square."

Claire is being audacious with a bet telling Zack that he might lose, but that sparks Zack's enthusiasm to play.

"Okay then, I'll take your bet."

For over half an hour has passed, they were deserted to a tie in every game, up until one last round that changes everything.

"That's a close one, you almost won that one. Have you memorized the moves?"

"Not really, I just smash the buttons for real.

What's your secret?"

"I just go with the flow of the game and also memorize every move and strategize the game from the start, I have at least 19 first attack moves to go with."

"That's impressive.

Well, I better jot that down as important notes haha. And one more thing."

Claire gives her hand to Zack.

"What are you doing?"

"Let's shake our hands, I'm Claire, your personal observer."

"Zack, a gamer."

They shook hands as their last moments for the day went by.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Zack."

"Okay then."

Zack continues his saved game from before as Claire went to the next patient.

"Patient 115 done."

The next patient is patient 116, the elusive deformed mental stability of a 16-year-old known as Rei.

She has a lot of anxiety and loss of hope which sparks her eyes as any normal human would act.

For now, Claire jots down each of her injuries that haven't healed from the past so the least she could do is provide a pill that could cause extreme sedative, euphoriant, and anxiolytic known as the 'Hope pills' which is the same as the chloroform but takes effect and reduce SK Virus's symptoms from hearing voices inside of the patient's mind.

She kindly talks to this patient with a gentle voice and a calm soothing sound from the background, Claire delivers the pills at his door opener at the bottom, and so she takes it and swallows, she is back to a normal state of feeling nothingness, she is tamed and now capable of relaxing her nerves at the moment.

"I'll try talking to you face to face soon."

After that, Claire visits the other two patients that Lars is in control of.

It was a well-done job for her to attend to her patients but I think Lars has heavy problems with his station.

One, at Patient 117 is a very aggressive and violent sinner, Lars tries to calm her senses by giving it a shot of liquid hope shot to ease her nerves and finally calm down while he jots down some changes from mental stability to physical harm to herself.

While at Patient 118, a patient that is on a coma since 3 years ago, a seven-year-old boy has only 3 days before the expiration of his deathbed.

Lars was there monitoring the patient's physical injuries so far, Claire enters as to ask him what is his cause of sickness.

"What's wrong with him?"

"This patient is the founder's biological son that was given by Dr. Sneer to work for, with his engineering of masks and pills, he might extend his life expectancy from going to his expiration.

That's where you come in.

Try using your main ability known as Colorful humanity."

"Alright then."

Claire glows into a yellow-colored aura as she begins to activate her main ability to the patient, but the results were the same.

The patient is still in a coma.

Lars jots down that the result of the colorful humanity was a complete failure.

"My ability didn't work..."

"Don't worry Claire, we did all we can, for now, let's report this to Dr. Sneer."

They both went to the office to report what has happened to the successful patients.

"We have the reports, Dr. Sneer. Are you done with your work?"

"Still a long way but it will be done as soon as possible, for Fubuki's sake, I'll make sure he will be a success.

For now, report the last couple hundred of the failures, make sure you don't open the container if you haven't put the hope syringes, now go."

Claire and Lars flee the scene to go to the failure section of the patients where all of them were still uncontrollable to maintain their physical and mental deformities from all the experiments that the founder has caused.

It was up to us to maintain their daily needs in order not to cause massive destruction in the future, if it needs to be they can use this as a weapon against Mr. Smiley, and their attributes can be collected with the right tools to use which is why Dr. Sneer himself is engineering one for the betterment of the SK Foundation.

Suddenly a tentacle thrusts at great speed at the glass that Claire was standing in front of her, she was shocked by the instant attack, good thing there is a barrier against such monster.

"What a monster, there is no human features on that patient, Lars."

"It must be the overdose of what the founder is giving to these poor patients, but it's for the best to gather the best weapon they can to gather, our job is to make sure we can gather much power and abilities when Dr. Sneer is done making his tools."

"I see, this is a dangerous job after all."

"Let's move on, we have a lot to observe."

After over 7 hours of work, they were finally done with their observation and now they are taking a break at the office.

It was a tough job for them to continue but this was the only way they were seen as useful to the SK Foundation.

And now, it was time for Claire to slack off from the job since they have time to goof around.

"Lars, wanna join me at Zack's room? We can play a third party there."

"I have to pass, I have some things to do in my spare time."

"Okay then, your loss.

I'll see you later Senpai."

And soon Claire went back to Zack as to play another game.

"Oh Claire, you're here."

Zack says to Claire.

"Of course I am, I want a rematch on our last game!"

"No need to shout, it hurts my ears when you do that."

"I'm sorry, let's continue."

"Okay then, what game do you want?"

"Let's do Domination fight again."

"Okay then."

And then, Claire uses her cheat code known as 'annoyingly lucky' to win over Zack.

But this time, she was prepared for the worst.

"Let's have a bet, if you win three times, I'll let you do anything for once.

But if I win one time, you do something for me instead, is that a deal?"

"Don't you think it is a little bit unfair?"

"Hahahhahhaha, no it is not, now let's start."

And so they played up until her break was over.
