8 Chapter 7 megan
The firefighters kept looking, and Mr and Mrs Denver were getting anxious about where Megan could be because The firefighters should've found her by now. The firefighters continue looking and pulled 12 more people out of the remains of the cave, but still no sign of Megan.
"Maybe she's not here, perhaps she got out and ended up in a hospital, but she was injured and that's why they haven't called us yet. If she lost her phone in the cave, and she was unconscious when she got there or not long after she got there, they wouldn't have been able to contact us". Mrs Denver said.
"I'm sure she's fine dear if that had happened we would have been notified in some way" Mr Denver told his wife .
"Okay, do you want to try ringing her, and we'll see if we can hear the phone,?" A firefighter asked.
Mrs Denver tried to ring Megan's phone but it went straight to voicemail , so they kept searching. The firefighters put aside all the rocks that they moved to see who was still in the cave.
"there's no one here, do you want to try and ring her again?" A firefighter asked.
Mr Denver tried to ring her again and it still went to voicemail.
The firefighters kept on searching and pulled out two more people, but still no sign of Megan.
"This is the last bit if she was in the cave she would be here" A firefighter told mr and mrs denver.
The firefighters then go through the last bit of the remains of the cave and sure enough, they see a bit of brown hair sticking out and quickly moved the rocks away the ambulance crew ran over and got the person to the ambulance, it's Megan.
She had fallen further underground than anyone else Mr and Mrs Denver ran over to the ambulance.
Megan looked so pale that mr. and Mrs. denver were frightened for a moment, that Megan might be dead. It wasn't until a paramedic confirmed that she was indeed alive that their fear subsided.
but As soon as Megan was laid down, she had a seizure. One of The paramedics quickly put her on her side and put a jacket under her head.
"I'm giving her 5 mg of diazepam," One of the paramedics told another paramedic.
"What will that do?" Mrs denver asked.
"It should stop the seizure," The paramedics told her.
They put the diazepam into Megan's right arm and waited a minute, but there was no change.
"There is no change, I'm going to give her five more mg of diazepam," a paramedic told another paramedic.
The paramedic gave Megan five more mg of diazepam. Again there is no change.
"We need to get to the hospital quickly, unfortunately only one of you can come, so you need to decide which one it will be," the paramedic told mr and mrs denver.
"You go, I'll drive," Mr Denver told his wife.
"Okay," Mrs Denver said, quickly sitting down and putting her seatbelt on. Mr Denver got in his car and drove to the hospital. The paramedic closed the doors to the ambulance and and the other paramedic started to drive to the hospital.
"I'm going to give her 5 more mg of diazepam as the seizure has not stopped," the ambulance worker told the other paramedic.
The paramedic gave Megan five more milligrams of diazepam. As The paramedic wrote down 15 mG of Diazepam on a bit of paper The seizure stopped.
"This is a good sign, isn't it?" mrs denver asked.
"Yes, we won't know more until she's at the hospital. It may be due to internal bleeding or a brain injury. When she's at the hospital, they can run some tests and find out for certain" The paramedic told Mrs denver.
"If it was internal bleeding, wouldn't she have had this or been affected in some way before she got taken out of the cave?" Mrs Denver asked.
"Not necessarily if the rocks were on her and around her, they might have been holding it in place and when she was removed the pressure was removed and that's why it started to bleed out" the paramedic told Mrs denver.
They then arrived at the hospital and the ambulance workers quickly open the door and rushed Megan into the hospital
" An 18-year-old female involved in a cave accident was removed from the cave on entry to the ambulance had a seizure and was given three doses of 5 mG of diazepam, after the 3rd dose the seizure stopped." The paramedics told A group of nurses Who had gathered for their arrival.
"Okay, thank you," a nurse said. The team of nurses then rushed Megan into a room and did a quick test to see if she had any internal bleeding, they found that she had bleeding on her brain.
"We need to get her into surgery immediately," a nurse said.
"What's happening, what's wrong?" Mrs Denver said Voice filling with concern.
"She's got quite a bad bleed on her brain, and we must stop it quickly before it gets any worse," a nurse explained to mr. and Mrs. denver.
The team of nurses quickly got Megan out of the room and took her down to the surgery room. A nurse walking past Mrs Denver could see that she was scared.
"Don't worry someone will come and tell you when the surgery is finished, stay here and someone will let you know" the nurse notified Mrs Denver.
"Okay, thank you. My husband Megan's Dad should be here soon. Can you let him know where I am, please?" Mrs Denver asked.
"Yes, sure, what is his name?" the nurse asked.
"His name is William. William Denver," Mrs Denver said.
"Ok, when he is here, I will let him know where you are," the nurse told mrs denver. .
The nurse disappeared and reappeared with a glass of water for mrs Denver.
"Thank you," Mrs Denver said.
The nurse then left and Mr Denver arrived not long later.
"Sorry, it took me so long. There was a lot of traffic, where is she? " MR Denver asked.
"They had to rush her into surgery. She has a bleed on the brain," Mrs Denver announced, starting to cry.
"I'm sure she'll be fine this is the best place for her to be," Mr Denver told his wife, putting his arm around her.
"What if she's not okay? What if she dies It will be our fault because we didn't find her soon enough" Mrs Denver said .
"Don't say that she won't die, she'll be fine," Mr Denver told Mrs Denver .
"We haven't even heard from the others yet, we don't even know if they're okay," Mrs Denver explained.
"As soon as there's any news, they will let us know, you know that," Mr Denver said.
"Her phone must of been broken, that's why it took us so long to find her because we couldn't hear it. What if she is injured because of that?" Mrs Denver whispered.
"If she is, we will handle it as a family don't worry," Mr Denver told her.
Twenty minutes later, mrs Denver's phone started ringing.
"Who is it?" Mr Denver asked.
"Deidre, she must have an update on Sarah," Mrs Denver told mr denver.
Mrs Denver then answered the phone.
