55 A stranger in dreams

Utter darkness was surrounding her and she found herself suffocating merely due to the thickness of it. She was running towards an indefinite destination, barefeet, breathing heavily as sweat tingled all over her body. All she desired was to get away from a pair of petrifying inflamed eyes which were following her all around. 

She ran as fast as she could but soon her feet and trembling legs were starting to betray her. She stopped and turned around to gawk in the darkness if those eyes were still behind her and to her relief they weren't. But, as soon as she moved her head back towards the front they were right in front of her!

Her startled scream echoed in the silence as she stepped backwards but a cold hand snaked around her throat, gripping it in its gruesome hold.
