Lucky

Waze stared in slight shock at the sobbing woman before her. Ella Vondrasek wasn't just crying, she was bawling. Waze moved over next to her and patted her on the back, whispering words of comfort. After a few minutes, Ella stopped sobbing and switched to sniffling instead. Waze gave her a tissue box, which Ella graciously accepted.

"S-so Ebony..." Waze wasn't quite sure how to continue their conversation.

"Right. Ebony." More sniffles from Ella. She took a deep breath before starting her explanation. "My husband is a member of Ebony, he works in the 4th division. There are five divisions, like branches of Ebony."

"Yeah, we kinda got that." Waze nodded. Ella continued.

"So he works in the 4th division. He actually bought me from the market himself about five years ago. He was already working in Ebony, and I was just being sold. I've been living with him ever since. He said that if I ever told anyone... If I ever t-told anyone..." Ella scrunched up her face attempting not to break out in tears again.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you're the one who told me. A few of my friends already know, but they're on our side. Anyway, once we're through with Ebony, you won't have to worry about that anymore."

Ella looked up at Waze with wide eyes.

"What do you mean...?" Waze grinned at Ella's question.

"We're gonna take down Ebony. 'We' being my group of friends. We're all combat trained high-steps. Well, most of us anyway. I promise we can do it, we just need information. That's why I'm here. You're the only strong lead we've got." Ella sniffled some more and nodded.

"I'll tell you everything important." Ella paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "There are five divisions, and each division is headed by a dean. The 4th division is probably where you'll want to start, right?"

Waze nodded and Ella continued talking.

"The dean of the 4th division is named Egar. I hear he is powerful, but nothing outstanding. His main power is the sheer number of people he employs. The 4th division is the biggest one. Their headquarters are in an unfinished casino on the outskirts of town. It's called 'Westgate'. I'll show you on a map where it is. It's heavily guarded, though, so I don't know how you could get in. The only ones let inside are the girls and staff."

Then, it clicked for Waze. What they had to do. It was dangerous, but it could work.

"Alright, that's good enough for me. We can work with that. The address will be enough. Is there anything special we should be cautious of?"

"Not with the 4th division, no. They're just very heavily guarded that's all. There's a lot of members, and they're ruthless."

Waze smiled and Ella and patted her on the back.

"Don't worry, we'll be fine. I've got a plan. I promise you, we will bring down Ebony. I'll make sure this Link guy gets what's coming to him, too."

Ella nodded.

"Thank you, Waze."

Ella gave her a map and circled where Westgate was before sending Waze on her way. Waze's parting gift to Ella was the tip that ice helps with swollen eyes. Ella merely laughed and bid Waze goodbye.

When Waze went outside, Alec was still waiting. She had only been about a half hour. Waze had written down everything Ella had said in her notebook, and now she also had the map. She knocked on the door and Alec opened the car, letting Waze climb in.

"Mission status: success."

"Really? It worked?" Alec looked slightly shocked.

"Why do you look so surprised? This was your plan, wasn't it?"

"No, it's just, I wasn't quite sure if it was gonna work. It's probably thanks to you, though."

"Not really. Ella isn't with Ebony, she's a victim of them. She was being trafficked before Link bought her. She was more than willing to help me out, as long as we don't tell anyone else where we got out information."

"Sweet. So, what information did you get?"

"Let's see... They call the branches 'divisions', and there are five of them. She gave me information on the 4th division, that's where Link works. Supposedly it's the biggest one, but there's no one who's especially powerful. The divisions are headed by 'deans'. The dean of the 4th division is named Egar. He's a high step, but no one particularly special. The building is just heavily guarded, he's surrounded by a lot of people. She also gave me the location of the 4th division's headquarters." Waze held up the map and showed it to Alec. "An unfinished Casino on the edges of town called Westgate. The perfect place for a human trafficking center."

"You say it's heavily guarded though, how do you plan on getting in?"

Waze grinned.

"Don't worry, I have a plan."

Waze told Alec she'd tell him with the others, so Alec and Waze made their way to the tea shop where the others were training right now. Waze and Alec talked over the information a bit more, seeing if they could figure out anything else that would be helpful. They pretty much had it all, though. Were they lucky to have found all this out? Or was it something else? Who knew?

Eventually, they pulled up to the tea shop, where a multitude more cars were parked than usual.

"Everyone's definitely here," Waze said. They climbed out and went inside, making their way through the winding shop into the back. Opening the door, the best word to describe the scene inside was chaos.

Abilities flying everywhere, people flipping over one another, throwing punches, kicks, elbows, knees and everything imaginable. And worst of all, no Norris to be found. They were completely unsupervised.

"Hey everyone!" Waze scowled. No one was listening. "Hey!" she shouted louder. Still no response. Waze grabbed a breaking board from the side of the room before throwing it in the air and sending her most powerful kick towards it. The board shattered, wood scattering everywhere.

"HEY!" Everyone stopped and turned their eyes to Waze, who stood panting angrily above scattered wood scraps.

"Hey Waze..."

"You're back."

"How'd it go...?"

Waze scowled at her teammates who were currently feigning innocence.

"Gather up and listen." Once everyone was gathered in a circle, Waze explained the situation and what she had found out. When everyone was briefed, Cassidy asked the question on everyone's mind.

"So what do you plan to do? The place is heavily guarded, right? We can't just walk right in. Plus, it's on their territory." Waze cleared her throat.

"The only one's allowed in are the girls and the staff. I'll say that again, the GIRLS and the staff. You see where I'm going with this? All of us girls," Waze grinned, "we're going undercover."
