Chapter 16 : Maid
"Yes, hurry up and make a wish" enthusiastically, the white fox again circled around yuki with its long tail fluttering as it passed through the gap of the cold night wind.
While yuki could only be silent when seeing the fox flying in front of his before starting to speak again
"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested" Declaring his rejection openly, yuki walked away to pick up his dropped Smartphone.
"Eh? What did you say?" with a stupid expression on her face, the fox girl looked back at yuki with her blue eyes.
As if she had seen the most unbelievable thing in this world, the fox girl tilted her head to the side as if confused.
After all, usually when someone was offered to grant her request, they would accept without a second thought.
"I said that I'm not interested" with that said, yuki walked away from the shrine and started approaching the stairs that became the main entrance to the shrine.
Disappearing from where she was currently hovering, the fox girl instantly reappeared before Yuki once again.
"What? Why?! Explain to me?" holding yuki's shoulders directly, the fox girl began to ask with a face filled with confusion.
"There's no reason at all, but if you're really curious then I'll answer that right now I don't want to make any requests, it's enough for me not to be fooled a second time" yuki said lightly.
"What?! It's impossible for a human like you to not have any wishes right? I promise I won't deceive you anyway" As if confused by what she saw, the fox girl tilted her head in confusion when she saw the behaviour of yuki.
Because if she could be honest, with the span of time that she had lived, she herself had seen so many different types of human vices, and although they all had different traits from one to another.
But she still had a basic understanding of all of them who still had one thing in common with each other, which was the greed that was clearly visible in each of their eyes.
"No, you're wrong, right now the thing I want the most is to go back to my house and sleep on my soft mattress" Yuki said while dismissing the fox girl's hand that was still gripping his shoulder tightly.
"What? No! I'm not talking about desires like that, what I'm talking about right now is about worldly desires such as wealth, popularity, a successful career and many more, and you must have one of those desires right" The fox said again firmly.
Seeing what the fox girl in front of his was doing, Yuki could only sigh before speaking again.
"Well, you're right, because honestly as an ordinary human, I do want those worldly things"
"Well then?"
"But I'm not stupid enough to trade my soul for such trivial things like worldly pleasures" Yuki said firmly.
Seeing and hearing what the human in front of her said, the fox girl seemed to have seen another new trait of humans, but even so it did not seem to be accompanied by greed in it.
Because, as an existence that had lived for hundreds of years and had experienced a time when humans adored her, the fox girl felt that she understood humans the best among the other fox demons.

If you don't want to make a personal request that satisfies such worldly desires, then why don't you make a request like world peace or something like that, which would be of great benefit to others?" said the fox girl in a slight panic when yuki started to walk away from the courtyard where the shrine was located.
Seeing what the fox girl before her was doing, yuki could only sigh heavily before starting to speak again.
"Hey, fox girl, before you make various offers like that, can I first ask you something?" yuki asked with curiosity on his face.
"Yes, what is it?" enthusiastically, the fox girl started asking to resolve the doubts that yuki had about herself.
Seeing how her offer seemed to work, making the fox girl have a bright face there.
"Firstly, do you live in this abandoned shrine?" yuki asked curiously while pointing towards the place where the empty shrine was.
"Yes? I...do live in this place, so what?" replied yuki's question with a bit of confusion on her face. The fox girl began to tilt her head to the right side as if making a questioning expression.
The fox girl did not understand at all what yuki wanted to ask her.
Seeing the confused expression coming from the fox girl, yuki raised the corner of his lips as if he was displaying an evil smile to the fox girl in front of him
"Well, if you can indeed grant my request as you said, then why don't you repair this shrine first?" yuki said with a beautiful smile on his face.
To be honest when yuki heard about the wish-granting power possessed by the fox girl, yuki could only frown for a moment.
Considering that such power has infinite possibilities to manipulate reality itself, it momentarily made yuki feel the great danger of the fox girl currently hovering before him.
Well, although there was still no guarantee at all about the truth of her words. But it wouldn't hurt to be a little cautious, right?
"Eh? Wait a minute! That's not the concept! My power is not as simple as you think" with a quick rebuttal, the fox girl jumped up and glared at yuki with her blue eyes.
"Then?" asked yuki.

"Aaahh!!! No! No! No! Hurry up and make a request, please! Or I'll disappear aaa!!! A-are you so heartless that you make a sweet girl like me beg for mercy like this?!" with a face that looked like it could cry at any moment, the fox girl said in a shrill voice.
"Damn it! I don't care about what you say, but certainly quickly let go of me you stupid raccoon!!!" With a strong pull from yuki, the fox girl slowly began to slip out of yuki's legs.
With his annoyed face, yuki tried to throw the fox girl away from his body.
"What?! You insulted me!!! I'm a fox and not a raccoon!!! As compensation for the mental injury you gave me, hurry up and make a request to me!!!" the fox girl argued with snot still sticking to her face.
At first glance, this scene looked quite stupid. Seeing what the fox girl said, Yuki then started talking again.
"Damn!!! Why is your logic getting broken?!"
Slowly time passed with yuki and the fox girl who had looked tired of each other.
Looking at the fox girl with a face full of sweat, yuki then began to speak.
"Ha~ha~ha~ How about we both make a deal" yuki suggested to the fox girl.
"Ha~ha~ Yes, you're right ha~ Then how will we make a deal?" asked the fox girl.
"Well, since you need the energy of the soul to continue maintaining your existence in this world, and I also seem to need someone who is good at house cleaning, so-"
"Rejected!" cut the fox girl off directly.
"Wait, I haven't even finished talking yet" Yuki
"Seriously, you want to make a pretty girl like me a maid in your house?"
"Then? If you don't want to, whatever, I'll get out of here" Yuki
"Wait a minute! I-I..." biting her lip for a moment, the fox girl continued.
"Okay! I'll be a maid in your house, but I won't accept any weird strange requests"
"Of course, what kind of person do you think I am"
"Whatever"
"Oh yeah! By the way, I don't know your name yet?" Yuki asked.
"Isn't it good to introduce yourself first before asking someone else's name?"
"Ah! That, my name is Yuki Kato and yours?"
"Shiro kitsune, that's my name"
