Prologue

"Sir, we'll be heading to New York in less than fifteen minutes." Simoun heard his personal secretary. Suddenly he made a trip to New York to talk to businessmen who wanted to partner with him in his current business Airlines.

"Okay, after the meeting you can rest once I get back to the hotel." He commanded her and then he turned his attention back to the outside.

It's been a year since he returned to his hometown. The world where his life just revolves around work and growing their family businesses. He's the eldest son of Lorenzo Montalvo. He's been the CEO of his own company for two years after he graduated college at an exclusive University in Manila.

Three years later, there was someone he never wanted to see again. He's been miserable for the past three years because of this woman leaving him that he thought would be with him forever. He still remembered their last conversation before he finally left for Italy.

"Bea, can we just talk that we're not fighting?"

"I'm tired Simoun, I'm so sick and tired." He even saw her sigh as sad eyes stared at him. "I'm always begging for your time. You don't have time for the two of us. You don't even remember my birthday yesterday, am I right?" This question was sarcastic to him. And he scratches his neck remembering the date yesterday. What the! Why didn't he remember his girlfriend's birthday yesterday?

"Bea, I'm so sorry. I -..."

"You have nothing to sorry Simoun, I get used to that you always forgetting about me, us..." And he quickly picked up the pouch he was carrying on his office sofa.

"Honey, wait ..." He stopped her as he held her small waist.

"Let me go Simoun. I want to break up with you. Let's end the relationship we have now, we're both having a hard time." She removed the hands he had wrapped around her waist.

He seemed to lose himself and suddenly he turned Bea in front of him. He quickly kissed it on the lips. He kissed her violently and intensely because he was so afraid that she would leave him forever. A loud slap landed on her cheek after she did the kiss to Bea which awakened his sanity.

"Is this the way how will you stop me from leaving you, huh? Simoun, we've been together since we were still in college. And I'm always by your side, I take care of you. But I suggest, everything also comes to fruition. And for our relationship, this is the right time for us to finish what we have. "

He could not move from where he was standing right now. He just clasped his hands because of the anger he felt at that time. Why did he let the woman he loved lead them into a situation he never expected to happen in both to them? They both dreamed of being together for their future. But because of his stupidity, Bea chose to leave him alone. She gradually disappeared from his sight as the door from which she came finally closed and he was left alone in his office, frustrated and unprepared for his current situation.

From that day, he did not let himself be hurt because of the love that he thought would last forever. Love that caused him anger in his heart that he will never forget.

"Sir, we are here." His eyes are now chasing the ghastly white clouds outside the airplane. He turned his sight with his secretary. He buttoned the coat he was wearing then he stood up. She followed him with the important files they needed for the meeting.

"Simoun, son ..." He kissed his mom on the cheek and then adjusted the collar of his long sleeve.

"Do you have anything else to tell mom?" He feels lifeless while answering his mother's question. He just went on a business trip, and it seemed like he didn't want to do anything but lock himself in a room and relax.

"I'm just worried about you son, maybe you're abusing yourself too much because of work? Can you take a break even for a few weeks? Take a vacation in our rest house in Pangasinan? Do you want?" This obviously worried him. It even rubbed his shoulder as if that way his tiredness and sadness would be relieved.

"I'm okay Mom, don't worry. I'll just rest," he could only tell his mother.

"Did you still remember her?" It was a follow-up question to him as he turned to it. He knew who it was dealing with.

"She's nothing Mom, but part of my past that I totally forgot. I don't know her anymore or where she is now," he said emphatically. He continued to climb the stairs to go to his room, leaving his mother clueless. He doesn't want to talk about the woman he has erased from his heart for a long time but also in his mind. And he will use those memories left in his brain so that he can prepare for their reunion.

When he entered in his room, he wearily closed its door. He threw his cellphone on top of his bed, and he went to the walk-in closet to get some clothes to wear. She went to the bathroom to take a shower. When he came out of the bathroom, his cellphone rang correctly. He wiggled his head to manage his wet hair. He was holding her waist as he answered the person calling on his cellphone.

"Rino, do you have any updates on what I'm fixing for you?"

"Yes sir. In three days, we will be able to sign Mr. Colls a contract." It was the news he heard from the person he was talking to. He looked out in the glass window of his room. Mr. Colls is one the important businessmen who need the service of Montalvo Airline, so we need to get his signature and have a contract with our company.

"Okay then, just inform me about contracts and when he can sign them." He strictly instructed it.

"Noted sir, I'll take care of what you ask me to do."

"Alright, thank you. I'll hang up, I have important things to do."

The next day he woke up early. He dressed immediately to enter the office. He has something to do about the business so he can't have lunch. When he got down at the dining table, he saw his parents sitting with Ezekiel. Lucas his second brother, on the other hand, seldom went to their home. All he knew was that he had bought his own house and that he was staying there.

"Son ..."

"Dad. Do you have anything to say?" He promptly asked his father as he pulled up a chair to eat breakfast.

"It’s about your business. I heard that many business partners want to take the service of your Airlines." His father said to him when he lowered the cup of coffee he was holding.

"Yeah. Just a few meetings and negotiations and I'll get their partnership. But for the meantime, I'll take care of a few things about the company first."

"That's my son." His father gladly told him. And then their father turned to Ezekiel who was busy typing on his cellphone.

"How about your businesses, Ezekiel?" He did not forget to ask my other sibling. Our mother, on the other hand, listened quietly to our conversation.

"It's good Dad. And I'll put up another branch in Makati next month." Announcing it to them. And he continued eating after answering their father's question. Ever since that has always been their routine in the morning. Even without their second brother Lucas, he always makes sure that even his own hotel business is in good condition. So, he can say being a Montalvo is not easy. Full of responsibility and task but in the end ... being a Montalvo is a privilege that everyone is always dreaming of. Money, power, and glamorous lifestyle ... all of that is part of being a Montalvo.
