47 Chapter 47 – Legends and Tales – Epilogue

[A/N: The final chapter of this story has arrived. With this Pietro's and Wanda's journey is coming to an end, and I hope you enjoyed my story!]

Years passed by in a flash, as our little family lived without worries of the future and several years after the birth of Iryna, Wanda was pregnant with our second child.

This time she gave birth to a boy, we named Benedikt – or in short Ben.

His hair was of a lighter shade of brown than Wanda's and his eyes had a deep purple colour.

(A/N: Benedikt translates to 'the blessed one' in latin, while Ben means 'the son' in hebrew. For those who are curious about the origins of the name.)

Life wasn't uneventful for me, as watching my children grow up and staying at Wanda's side was an adventure of a whole different kind.

Though there was the occasional visit from Irani, where she asked for my help with some upstart warlord or other problems. I didn't mind helping out, as that would mean a change of pace and putting some of the skills I acquired through gruelling training to use.

I had however made it clear, that I worked according to my own conditions and that they better prepare some bodybags, when they came to ask for my help, as I wasn't one to show mercy even now.

Other pieces of information had also reached my ears, either through Silver, the Nova Corps or my own investigation.

One of those pieces being that Asgard had indeed suffered destruction and like in the original timeline Hela had fallen with it.

The Ancient One had also passed her position to Strange, while she stayed as a close advisor for the new Sorcerer Supreme and devoted herself more to teaching her students.

Another interseting piece of news was that the Avengers never really became a thing after their failure with the Tesseract. Though SHIELD seemed to have cleared out its ranks from the HYDRA members and Tony had also focused most of his attention on renewable energy, while the Iron Man Armor became more of a side-project.

There was more, but I hadn't really bothered to investigate too deeply, as my focus had always been my family and I was curious what our eternal life held in store for us.

The sun shined brightly on the grassy field, as a young platinum-blonde woman, probably in her early twenties, swung her glaive at an older man with the same hair colour.

Her attack was easily deflected by an abyss-black spear, even though her weapon had enough sharpness to pierce through Vibranium and even enchanted Uru, like a hot knife through butter.

The black spear seemed indestructable as the bladed weapons clashed repeatedly.

Suddenly another young woman joined the fray. She was shorter in stature and looked more petite than the curvy blonde.

Wielding a warhammer with incredible strength, she struck fiercly at the man.

Her strike was dodged though, as if the man had long since known that it was coming.

The fight went on for a while, as the young women ganged up on their opponent, displaying incredible teamwork and synchrony.

Still, as if toying with them, the man concentrated on defending himself, as he lead them around the grassy plain.

As if he couldn't bear to watch on anymore, a fourth combatant joined the fight, wielding a gigantic Double-Edged-Sword and attacking the man in perfect coordination with the other two women.

The wielder of the Double-Edged-Sword looked like a boy about seventeen years of age with short brown hair and deep purple eyes.

With three against one, the trio seemed to have high hopes of forcing the man into a disadvantage and attacked with great ferocity.

At the end though, the man's black spear created something akin to an absolute protective field around him, as he wielded it with a grace and finesse that simply couldn't be replicated. It wasn't speed or strength that gave the man such an advantage, even though he had both of those in spades.

It was pure technique.

Technique that had surpassed any logic, as he used his perfect body coordination to wield the long weapon, as if it possessed a fluid shape.

Suddenly the trio, as if communicating silently, moved as one unit. The petite brunette used her warhammer to fire a telekinetic shockwave at the man, while the curvy blonde and the superhuman teenager cut off the man's path of retreat.

In a display of impossible precision and foresight, the man deflected the shockwave with the side of his blade, causing him to dodge it narrowly, while simultaneously using its pushing force to accelerate his movement beyond his prior limit, enabling him to side-step the glaive of the blonde and leave the encirclement.

Sharing a helpless look, the trio took a moment to refocus themselves, as they launched another fierce offense against the man.

Still, no matter how they tried, even after several hours of high intensity combat, they hadn't even managed to put a nick on his clothes.

They themselves had meanwhile suffered countless small cuts, as the man had at some point stopped solely defend. The small cuts though took no more than a second to heal, displaying the superhuman healing abilities all of them possessed.

These cuts had also only been inflicted upon them as a warning, which they clearly knew, as the man did have a multitude of opportunities to deal lethal blows.

At this point though the fight already ended, their minds having reached the limit after keeping full focus for hours on end.

The boy was the first to sheath his weapon on his back, as he said with a helpless smile on his face, looking at the young women beside him: "Just stop. We can't beat Dad in a fight even when he doesn't use his physical advantages, much less when he uses the stones."

"So what? You wanna give up on the bet, Ben?", the young blonde asked, her emerald green eyes flashing with reluctance and indignation.

"I told you at the beginning Iryna, it was a bad idea to make a bet with Dad involving combat. Sigh. He is invincible after all.", the boy answered.

"You are just too scared to face some risks.", said the blonde accusingly.

"Ok, stop. No fighting.", the petite brunette declared, causing the budding argument to die down immediately.

"Seems to me, that for the next year all of you will be cleaning the house.", the man said, after taking note of their interaction carefully, a small smile on his lips.

"So let's go home, your mother has probably finished preparing dinner already. You don't want to keep her waiting do you?", the man continued asking.

Vigorously shaking heads were his answer.

The years passed for the Maximoff family, though time left hardly any traces on any of them. Longevity secured by the immeasurable power each of them wielded.

Every now and then forces surfaced in the galaxy, with a singular goal of destruction or the will to conquer and rule it, though it didn't end well for any of them.

One way or the other, none of them had a good end, while the names of Silverfire, Scarlet, Miracle, Sharpedge and Stormblade reached the ears of countless living beings.

And with the passing of years, those names turned into legends and those legends into tales.
