After I open the steel briefcase, the contents surprised all of us including Ace.

"What the-" (Linel)

"Woah dude!" (Zack)

"Isn't this-" (Harumi)

"This is-" (Ace)

I can't help but to blur out what's inside the steel briefcase.

"Handcuffs?" (Linel)

"Awesome bracelet dude!" (Zack)

"Handcuffs..." (Harumi)

"It's a handcuff." (Ace)

"It's a handcuff."

So anyway, just like what we said, inside the steel briefcase is a normal looking handcuffs lying at the center of a gray foam.

If you ask me, why is there a useless item inside this steel briefcase instead of a weapon, it is because who ever was in charge of hiding the weapons all over this island put this thing in there as a practical joke.

I close the steel briefcase and ask Ace her verdict.

"So, do you think we should keep this or let this girl have it?"

"I got to admit that this handcuffs won't be much use to us but-"

"But what?"

"But she's our enemy and we can't compromise with an enemy."

As expected of Ace.

Looks like I won't be able to convince her to give up the briefcase unless we have an ulterior motive.

Ulterior motive huh...

I have an idea!

"Mind if we have a little meeting?"

I said to Hanabi.

"Umm... I-I don't mind..."

She gave her answer in a shy manner.

Watching her do that kinda reminds me a bit of Lin. (Note: Vol.2 Memories of the past.)

Now that I mentioned it, their attitudes are quite similar.

Maybe that's reason why I want to help her out.

Anyway, I walk away while carrying the steel briefcase with me before Ace and Zack reacted.

Ace and Zack who are some what dumbfounded followed me in pursuit.

By the way, I learned that from pres.

"So what do you want to talk about in front of our enemy?"

I'm pretty sure Ace is being sarcastic here.

"Yeah dude! What's up?"

At least Zack is on my side.

I think...

Anyway, I went straight to the point.

"Let's give her the briefcase."

"Did you hear what I said earlier?"

Ace refuted me.

"Yup..."

"Yeah dude!"

Zack and I said in agreement.

I bet Zack is just going with the flow.

"Sigh* Do I have to explain to you two again on why we can't let her have the briefcase?"

Ace said in an upset manner.

"Compromising with the enemy right? But it won't be compromising if you have an ulterior motive."

I said trying to convince her.

"Ulterior motive? What do you mean?"

Ace asked.

Looks like she caught the bait.

"Dude! I don't know what that is, but it sounds so cool!"

I ignore Zack's reaction and explain to Ace.

"This is what I mean. We give her the briefcase and let her go. After we let her go, one of us will tail her till she gets to her base. Get it?"

"Yeah. I got it."

Ace said.

"Gotcha dude!"

And Zack joins in as well.

"Now that's settled, Ace would you mind doing the tailing?"

I said casually.

Ace responds to my question.

"I don't mind but why choose me?"

I state the obvious.

"Because you're an assassin and tailing is your speciality."

"You do have a point, but tailing is not the only thing an assassin can do."

I don't have time for lectures on an assassin's specialties, so I go straight to the point.

"Yeah I know! So will you do it or not?"

"I'll do it on one condition."

One condition?

I ask Ace that.

"Which is?"

"Let me have the phone."

She wants to have the phone?

I ask her that.

"Why?"

"So I won't get lost."

So much for being an assassin.

I thought having a good sense of direction is one of their abilities.

Might as well let her have it then but first I need a replacement.

"Alright! But let me make a call first."

I took out the phone that I bought from Kana and make a call.

Ring* Ring*

After few seconds, Kana answers.

"What is it?"

"Is it possible for you come to us like right now?"

"Yes, are you going to make another purchase?"

How did she know that?

Is she a psychic??

Now is not the right time to think about that.

I tell her my answer.

"Yup..."

"I'll be on my way."

After she said that, she hangs up.

Toot* Toot*

I give the phone to Ace after made my call.

After that, we approach the girl who's waiting patiently and give her the steel briefcase.

She took the briefcase off my hand shyly and says her thanks while executing a bow.

"T-thank you so much. I-I'm in your debt!"

"Don't mention it."

After that, she stood up and mumbles to herself.

"I'm so glad I gave you that love letter."

(Note: Vol.2 Chapter 4 Part E)

I couldn't clearly hear what she said but I heard she gave me something so I ask about it.

"You gave me what now?"

"N-nothing!"

She said in a surprised manner.

Looks like she doesn't want to talk about it so I decided to drop the matter.

"Alright then."

"Umm... I-I got to go now. So good bye!"

She said her farewell while executing another bow and runs off afterwards towards the opposite direction on where we came from.

I wonder if bowing is a common thing on where she came from.

Anyway, after she runs off, Ace quickly chases after her without making a sound leaving us two behind.

Well, that's the plan after all.

"So what should we do now dude?"

Zack asked.

I answer him.

"Well... We'll wait for Kana to arrive, then search for weapons later."

"Alright dude!"

Zack gave his response and lie down on the shore like a little kid.

He starts making a sand angel.

"Ha ha ha! Dude! Look!"

I'm pretty sure that he's doing that to kill time but of all the things he could think of, he has to do something awkward like that.

I move at least two meters away from Zack and stare at the beautiful view of the ocean.

Well, there's no ocean on where I came from which is outer space so now is my chance to appreciate it.

Although I heard that other space cities have an artificial ocean like the Space City Aquarius but there's a big difference from natural and man made.

Like the ocean here spreads endlessly throughout this world, unlike the artificial ones that has a limit.

Also, this place is really refreshing compared to the academy where we're being crammed up in a classroom almost everyday and listening to Mr. Eagle's "Heroic Tales" during Melee Training.

I wish Mr. Eagle would stop bragging at least for one day.

While I was busy staring at the ocean and talking to myself in my head, someone tapped on my left shoulder.

I turn around to see who it was.

It was Kana.

Kana magically takes out another phone from her left hip side pouch with a brochure of suspicious looking products and hands it over to me.

I took the phone from her, and she thank me like a lifeless businesswoman.

"Thank you for your purchase."

Before I was able to say a word to her, she walks towards the forest while fidgeting with her phone.

Okay...

How did she know I wanted another phone and how many does she have?

And why does she always give me a brochure every time I buy from her?

Argh! What the hell!

There's no use asking myself these questions!

I approach Zack who is now soundly asleep like a baby and kick him as hard as I can to wake him up.

Bam*

"Hey Zack! Get up! It's time to go!"

"Giggle! Dude that tickles! Snore!"

Unfortunately, that didn't work.

Now what?

(Construction side)

In the middle of the tropical forest where the golden flowers that has a shape of a bell lies, four people who are building a fortress out of logs and wood.

Kana who newly got back from Linel, helps out by carrying a bunch of sharpened logs using brainwaves and pierces them into the ground to make a wall.

Aeris, who's in charge of walls and floorings, creates stacks of wooden planks using brainwave manipulation and atomic synthesis.

Mathias, who's in charge of collecting materials, chops a bunch of trees around him using air synthesis while dancing like a ballerina and humming the "Nutcracker".

Lokki, who's in charge of creating the tower, stacks up the planks and logs and bind them together with a sticky black substance (tar) in the middle of the fortress.

After they're done with their individual task, they will proceed in making cottages and defense mechanisms.

(Scavenging side)

In the middle of the tropical forest not far from the soon to be class 2's base lies a small lake.

At the shore of the lake, a wild hog is quenching it's thirst by taking a sip from the lake.

Suddenly, bolts of fire rains down on the wild hog and it's whole body is is engulf in the explosion.

Boosh* Boosh* Boosh* Booooooom*

After few seconds, the smoke that was concealing the wild hog clears up and now the wild hog who was taking a sip is dead while it's whole body is covered with a third-degree burn.

Wren who's carrying a wooden stick that's around two meters long with her right hand and vine on her left, arrives at the scene of the crime along with Maple and Roc.

The two reacted to the scene.

"Holy crap man!" (Roc)

"Bwahahahahahaha! The pig was barbecued alive! Bwahahahahaha!" (Maple)

Wren ignores the two and approaches the burned corpse.

When she's near the burned corpse, she insert the stick between it's two pairs of feet.

After that, she cuts the vine in to two by pulling it with her brute strength and ties the each pair of feet to the stick.

After she was done tying up the burned corpse, she steps away from it and commands the other two who was watching her out of astonishment.

"Carry that!"

Roc woke up from his astonishment and responds in a surprise manner.

"What man? You mean me?"

Wren who's irritated with Roc's responds repeats himself.

"CARRY THAT!"

"Hey man! I don't think I can carry that by myself! That thing is freaking huge and sure as hell that it's heavy!"

Roc said trying to explain himself.

"JUST CARRY IT ALREADY!'

Wren shouted while her whole body burst into flames.

"Alright man! Alright!"

Roc shouted trying to calm Wren down.

After that, he approaches the tied up burned corpse and mumbles to himself.

"Sheesh! She's so moody!"

"I'm what!?"

Wren reacted.

Roc tries to brush it off.

"Nothing man! Nothing!"

"Hmph!"

Wren said while flicking her twin tails and venture further into the forest.

Maples follow Wren in pursuit but Roc noticed her attempt and stops him.

"Hey man! Don't leave me! Help me out here!"

Maple responds to like an innocent child.

"I don't thwink my lwittle arms can lwift something this biggie!"

Roc who seen through Maple's lies, tells her to stop.

"Cut the bull crap man! Everyone knows you have the strength of a gorilla!"

"Who are you calling a gorilla?! Huh?!"

Maple who was innocent child earlier reacted like an angry mobster.

"Who else man?"

Roc retorted.

"You wanna piece of me!"

Maple challenges Roc into a fight.

Roc obliges.

"Hell yeah!"

Roc and Maple starts punching each other like a bunch of delinquents.

Bam* Wam* Blam*

Suddenly, a bolt of fire is heading towards them.

Boosh*

Roc and Maple dodges the fire bolt by jumping backwards.

Boom* Spoosh* Splat*

The fire bolt end up hitting the burned corpse's belly which made a hole.

Organs and blood spills out from it.

Roc got horrified and disgusted by the scene which made him vomit while Maple enjoyed it.

"Wahahahahahaha! The organs! The organs spilled out! Wahahahahaha!"

"YOU USELESS MORONS!"

Wren who came back with bundles of green bananas shouted from the top of her lungs.
