The annihilation of dragon bloods (1)

Boom!, Boom!!, Loud sounds woke Helena from her sleep, she came down from her bed in a hurry and ran towards the Windows, opening them, she was shocked to stupor, horror and fear clouded her eyes as she gazed at the scene before her.

Big rocks, engulfed with fire was raining on their homes as the unprepared warriors scrambled to their positions, some of them were smashed into a meat paste by the rocks, even it's pieces, wounded near by warriors, heavily. screams of people pressed under their crumbled houses echoed in her ears while she watched them beg for help, loud cry's from people that have already lost their loved ones in the crossfire, captains ordering their men to help the destabilized people.

Boom!, RUMBLE!, a flaming rock had smashed the house next to her which snapped her out of her stupor.

Helena rushed towards another room, opening the door, she saw her daughter, a small girl with red hair, she was already awake with a frightened face and tears streamed down her face, it seems the sound of the rock smashing the building next to them woke up the poor girl.

Helena rushed towards her child, she carried her daughter and began consoling her "it's okay, mommy's here" she patted her back with a reassuring smile on her face, hiding her fear from her daughter, she thought about her conversation with her husband ' "Helena I have a bad feeling about this war, could you please go to the capital and wait till the war is over", the anxious skyrax said to his wife.

"Don't worry dear I don't believe the empire will lose, I mean that's totally impossible, which power in the world could possibly win against the empire, please stop thinking this way, you are a guardian of the realm but you don't trust your own empire", replied the stubborn Helena.

"Helena!,why are you this stubborn, it would take nothing from you to go to the capital and stay for a few days, it would be more safe for our daughter", skyrax said with a raised voice.

"We are in the most safe place in the world, we are dragon bloods, practically the strongest race in existence, our child's safe hold is here so why should I take her somewhere that may be weaker", Helena refused.

"The capital is not weaker than zelkmond, infact it's very much stronger, the other guardians are there and you know that, they are practically the strongest people in the empire", said skyrax whose anger was rising because of his wife's stubborn character, it was one of the major thing he loved about her but now it has come to bite back. he regretted over petting her and now her attitude has grown to this level, if he was strict like Aatrox said then this would never have happened.

"Aatrox is here, besides staying with my kind is more protective than with strangers", Helena argued with an undeniable point.

As skyrax was about to explode with anger "mom, dad, what is happening, why are you fighting?", asked Skyrax's daughter with her large eyes brimming with tears, ready to spill. Skyrax's anger disappeared like a mist, he knelt in front of her and wiped away her tears as he smiled and kissed her forehead "no we are not, be a good girl. i will be back soon". Skyrax's actions had pacified her as she nodded her head.

Walking to the door skyrax stopped, turned his head to his wife and said "when I return, then we would go to the capital and that's final" without waiting for a response he closed the door and left.'

When Helena came out of the door, she started moving towards lord Aatrox's residence the streets was crowded by both the panicking people and people looking for their lost loved ones, it was a total mess. to move a step forward was a struggle, she thanked her stars that she was a dragon blood so even though she didn't train she was born a lot stronger than normal people and the greatest perk of dragon bloods, is that they are born at the level of a mid warrior, physical powers only, not their rune force and totally not elemental.

As she was struggling with the crowds, a rune located at her right ear glowed dimly, and a voice entered her ear "sis where are you". it was Helena's junior brother who was a captain of a hundred men.

"I am close to the Central market" she replied at the same time protecting her daughter from the mad crowd.

"Wait for me at the square, I will be there soon", the brother said urgently.

"I will be there", Helena said as she moved towards the square.

After awhile, her brother arrived with two hundred men, he ordered them to control the crowd and lead them to the inner city.

As they moved towards the city Helena noticed the number of men her brother brought was more than usual so she counted "two hundred men, that's twice the usual", Helena said to her brother

"Lord Aatrox brought out the recruits to pacify the city, we can't do anything with the people raging about", her younger brother said.

"What about the dragon knight, were are they?",Helena questioned as they were the elites of the clan so she had hope in them. ' if her husband was here she would not be going through all this problem ', she thought.

"Lord Aatrox does not want to bring them out this early but the red knights are already stationed at the inner city and I think that they would soon counter attack. the outer city was lost because we were caught unprepared", her younger brother explained.

"But even though you were caught unprepared, the outer city wall should not have fallen that easily," Helena questioned, showing her disbelief as the place she praised as the strongest have been invaded and they had already suffered first defeat.

"You have not seen the size of these things, sis, they are huge, but since they are few we have a great chance of winning, should the dragon knights join the fight we would decimate those bastards.

Seeing their Manor, her brother said "we are here sis", Helena was confused before saying "I thought were going to Aatrox Manor?".

" Lord Aatrox's Manor is totally undefended for lord Aatrox and the council members are going to the walls so here is the safest place right now, it is heavily protected so there's nothing to worry about".

"I understand, but where is dad?, don't tell me!" Helena said as her eyes widened as she mentioned her father.

"Yes, he went with lord Aatrox and the council members" her younger brother finished her words with his head down.

"b.... but, he is not strong enough to fight a battle, he is old!", Helena screamed, which startled her daughter, she calm down and part he daughters back gently

" He is not fighting, he will be back soon, we just need to show these void creatures, that they made the biggest mistake of their lives attacking the empire", her younger brother spoke with vengeance.

"Alright, I will wait for him, be careful", Helena said as she went inside the Manor gate

"I will" he replied solemnly .

Booomm!!!, The outer walls crumbled and thousands of void creatures marched in an organized pattern as their black armor seemed to absorb the light from their surroundings, with five meters tall Giants wielding different huge weapons they marched with the other human sized warriors as they numbered in hundreds.

"These savages think we are as powerless as the cities they destroyed, they do not know who we are!", a huge warrior in red armor and black cape with a dragon head symbol at his chest, shouted to his men.

"Ahoo!!,Ahoo!!!",the disciplined men shouted with unity.

"They do not know, what this land means to us, this is zelkmond, our home, the home of the dragon bloods!!, now, let's send this bastards to their graves!, CHARGE!!!", he shouted with all his might as he immediately put on his helmet.

Red runes lit up on the red knights armors while they ran towards the void warriors who also activated their runes which glowed with a ghastly white colour, they raised their shields and ran towards the red knights.....Boom!!, a massive red and white wave clashed.
