chapter 2

After an hour of walking they've finally arrived at the Hilde's mansion, the oldest family in Endercity. Thet are walking to the frontyard when a man jumps out of a nicely trimmed bush making Lance flinched in surprise.

"Ryle... you're back.. " he greets his brother with an irritated tone.

Ryle just laugh at his brother's irritation "yeah got nothing better to do and I'm done anyway so I thought I should just spend time cozily at home... and who's this? " he turn to Olivia who just stared at him like he's a puzzle.

Lance awkwardly laugh and introduces them "this is my girlfriend Olivia and Via love...this is my younger brother Ryle".

Olivia nodded her head "so you're the infamous brother that everyone heard but never met... nice to meet you".

Ryle chuckled sheepishly at this "I'm flattered" before being dragged by Lance.

"wait here for a moment Via... I need to have a brotherly talk with him" Lance sheepishly said at Olivia as he dragged his brother far away from her behind a willow tree.

"Now listen up... please don't scare her and don't suck her blood too... she's my girlfriend and I would appreciate it if you lay off her" he practically pleaded to Ryle.

Ryle just look at him amused then sighed "dont worry Lance... I'm full anyway and besides something feels off about her."

This words basically pulls him outs of misery and confuse him at the same time.

"Come on let's get inside before your girlfriend freezes to death". They trudged back to Olivia and invite her inside not knowing that she was listening to their conversation this whole time due to her super hearing.

Once inside they headed to the living room. Ryle switched the tv on with low volume while Olivia settles down comfortably on the love seat with Lance in the kitchen making them all hot chocolates. After Lance got back with three mug of their hot drinks, he cuddled close to Olivia making Ryle snort at them before sitting on a one seated sofa.

"so how long have you guys been dating already?... I forgot" He asked the couple.

Lance just shrugged them kiss Olivia forehead before answering "for one and a half year now I guess... "

"that's not long but Olivia.. how do you like EnderCity so far? Lance once mentioned that you grow up in Westchester" he then turn to Olivia curiously.

"It's different... than Westchester.. I kind of liked it" Olivia nodded her head in content.

Lance peck her lip "I'm glad to hear that Love ".

After that they continue to watch the tv in a comfortable silent for 30 minutes until Olivia phone's ringing. olivia stand up and and walked a little farther from them before picking up the call. Ryle leans at the arcmchair pretending to be bored and half-asleep watching the tv show when in actuality he was listening in on her conversation with her father on the phone.

"I send a car to pick you up... must be waiting already. There's an attack, going to investigate it before you know,so you must go home now... " was what he heard. His suspicion grew when he listen to the vague words that Olivia's father had said. It's as if he didn't want to anyone except for Olivia who listens understand what he was saying.

'but why would he do that... unless...my suspicion is correct and they knew what I am already...Olivia must've had told her father what I am when I was talking with Lance outside and that's mean she also heard our conversation... ' he thought.

Olivia ended her call after wishing her father good luck and look at the brothers "I need to go home now... my father had sent a driver for me and is currently waiting outside".

Lance stood up and see her out. "sorry I can't stay long... " she said as she kiss him deeply on the lips.

"It's okay.. it is getting late.. " Lance reassures her before nipping her ear which makes her glares at him and blush.

Olivia then went and enters a black car while Lance went inside. She looks at Lance retreating figures and smirk "Ryan Hilde... he must be listening... I wonder if he'll tell his brother what he heard along with his obvious suspicion on me".

Lance went back to the living room to see his brother lost in thought "penny for your thought".

Ryle look at Lance and frown "can I ask you something? did your girlfriend ever act... i dont know weird? "

"define weird" he raised an eyebrow at Ryle.

"well... I don't know like hate garlic weird, hates crowd weird, or trembling in the crowd weird or behavioural weird? ".

Lance just look at his brother, puzzled before answering "I guess... we rarely goes on a crowded place anyway except school, movie theater and the mall... she didn't really like garlic... but she did eat it since most cooked food had it... though she always pulls a face when she accidentally bit one.. why?".

Ryle pick up the remote and turn the tv off while making a confused face "I don't know... I just feel like... Olivia is... a vampire".

Lance looked puzzled at this "and what make you come to this conclusion brother?"

"it's just a vampirical sense... Olivia seem to possess the usual predatorial aura of a full fledged elder vampire...and not to mention the convo-"

"oh wait what?! you were listening to her call?!" Lance exploded, cutting his brother off.

"It's hard not to listen when you have an advanced super hearing" Ryle deadpanned, pointing at his ears before continuing as he saw his brother sheepish look. "Anyway his father was talking vaguely as if he didn't want anyone listening which is weird as his daughter is the only one he's conversing and saud daughter had been out of human hearing range... unless he knows that there was another vampire in the viccinity".

Lance sat down on a sofa and asked tiredly "what did her father said that seem to vague in your brain anyway?". His attention is focused on his brother.

"There's an attack and they must investigate. I know for a fact that there's no crime attack today but that can't be said about the supernatural community, early tonight I saw a group of rogue vampires following a trio of friends at the park and by their heavy bloodlust... I'm sure none if them survive the group. I'm sure that was the mentioned attack." he continued.

Lance just look at him unconvinced and confused which cause Ryle to sighed in tiredness at his brother's slowness, "didn't you said that Olivia's father own a car company?"

Ryle watched in amusement as a flurry of emotions flashed on hus brother face, from thoughtful, understanding, perplexed, another thoughtful look then ending up in tiredness.

"you know what... let's just end this discussion here, I'm tired and there's school next day. If it'll make you feel better I'll look out more closely to see if your theories is right" Lance waved his hand in dissmissal before moving to the stairs to head up to his room.

Ryle watched his brother walk away before standing up and speeding up past him causing him to tumble due to the rush of air from him.

"Hey!" Lance shouted in annoyance.

-the next morning at Elite High, breaktime-

"did y'all heard about the murder last night??" Monique spoke as she approached their group table wuth her lunch.

"I heard it was a possible wild animal attack... like maybe koyotes" Violet piped up as she drank her smoothie.

Mischa was nudging the distracted Olivia to pay attention as she was watching her boyfriend while they talk. "How so?" she ask after she managed to grab Olivia's attention who turn to her smiling sheepishly.

"heard that there was bitemarks on most of their neck and hands in a form of two holes" Monique answered making Sohee sighed.

"wild animals especially koyotes wouldn't leave two holes... rather ripped flesh" Sohee said pointedly.

Monique and Violet look thoughtful at that as they see the logic in that. Olivia and Mischa was in a silent almost unnoticeable rage and annoyance which Sohee noticed, making her smirk.

'Guess my dear vampire and witch friend is annoyed with this new problem' she thought in amusement.

Sohee always know what her two friends are especially Olivia, her scent is the strongest like most vampires are despite being masked with something else. She would not have sense it beneath the masking scent if it wasn't for the fact that she's a strong demon.

"well what do you think killed them?" Monique sigjed in defeat as she gives up on trying to guess the culprit.

"maybe... vampires" Mischa mumbled unconciously while playing with her food. Violet and Monique looked at each other then laughed, food forgotten. They stopped laughing when they see the serious face of their friends.

"wait you're serious?! you know that they didn't exist right?" Monique giggled unsurely. Olivia flinched at what her friend said.

"why not find out tonight~?" Sohee coeed, looking at the two humans with a sly glint in her eye.

The two looked at each other in a silent discussion before nodding once, "deal!" they both said at the same time.

Olivia just slammed her head at the table softly while sighing making Mischa pat her head in understanding due to their naive friends.
