4 The conclusion to all of this is

Lara lifted herself to her feet and awkwardly stood there watching the father picking up his little girl in his arms and then looking at her.

"I hope my Lily didn't trouble you."Mr. Simon said to her.

"No, she's a nice girl." Lara replied, smiling at Lily."I should leave now." She added and was about to leave, but Mr. Simon stopped her.

"Miss. Marlow." Simon called her.

Simon noticed how short she was compared to him. He guessed that she might be four feet and something.

A shiver ran down her spine as she turned around to face again."Yes." She replied.

"I want to thank you for helping Lily that day." Simon spoke.

"No need to thank me. I did what anyone would do." Lara replied, feeling nervous for an unknown reason.

She never felt nervous around men. Lara has a strong character, and that was one of the reasons she didn't date too much.

"Daddy, can aunty Lara come and play with me?" Little Lily asked.

Lara wanted to laugh at the little girl's request. It's so beautiful how children don't understand how the adult world works.

"Sweety, aunty has work to do. But I promise to play with you tomorrow." Lara replied before Simon. It was her first day working here, and the last thing she wanted was to hear the employees gossiping about her and that she was trying to seduce the big boss.

Little Lily nodded her head, not happy that her favorite new aunty won't play with her, but she did promise her that tomorrow they will.

"Have a good day, Sir. " And with that, Lara left, walking towards the elevator.

Once she entered the elevator, Lara rested her back against the wall, Fanning herself with her hand. Something strange was happening to her. Her heart was beating fast, and she was nervous. The conclusion to all of this is… That she has a crush on her big boss.

It didn't shock me. After all, the man is a masterpiece, handsome, and not to mention his deep manly voice. She was positive that most working females here felt the same.

Looking at the time, Lara noticed that only five minutes left before the lunch break ended, so she went to the company cafeteria and bought a sandwich, and ate it quickly before she went back to finish her work.

Inside Simon's office.

Sitting on the chair with Lily in his lap. She immediately hides her face in her father's chest, knowing what he's going to say.

"Lily." Simon called her in a gentle voice as he rubbed her small back soothingly.

Lily hesitated for seconds, but then she left her head slowly, looking up at her father with her beautiful blue eyes.

"I didn't want to go home. I wanted to be with you." Little Lily spoke in her cute childish voice.

Hearing his daughter's words, Simon gives up on scolding her. How can he scold this cute little angel of his?

"I'm sorry for not listening to you." Simone apologized, kissing his daughter's head."How about we go to your favorite restaurant and eat dinner together." He suggested, wanting to make it up to her for letting her feel lonely.

Inside Lara's office, piles of files of unfinished work lay on the table. Half of the day passed, and she felt like she accomplished nothing. There was so much work to do, and she didn't think she would be able to finish it by the end of the week.

Hours passed, and when the clock hit six in the evening, Lara gathered her unfinished work and left the company. It wasn't new to her. She always brought back her unfinished work to her home.

"I thought you went to sign your contract." Melissa said, looking at the pile of files that her friend put on the table.

"Greedy bosses always give the heavy work for their assistance." Lara replied as she kicked her shoes.

Recently, Lara was busy searching for a good job and was so busy, and they hadn't gone out for a while.

"With this amount of work, I think you need a delicious meal from your favorite restaurant." Melissa suggested, and Lara immediately nodded her head.

"I want Margherita pizza and iced cola." Lara said her order.

She did need an unhealthy dinner to get through this long night of endless work.

"I want one too." Melissa said as she ordered the restaurant number.

Melissa ordered the dinner, and half an hour later, the food arrived, and the two friends were sitting at the dining table eating their dinner and chatting.

"I have something to tell you." Melissa said.

Lara, who took a bite from her pizza, nodded her head for Melissa to continue.

Taking a sip from her iced cola, Melissa said."My father called me, he said that he needs me in the New York branch. So I thought about it, I have been thinking about it and I think it's time for me to move my lazy ass and start taking my life seriously."

Putting the slice of pizza that was in her hand, Lara sighed."I'm going to miss you but it's alright. Besides, you need to start building your life depending on your father's money for too long."

"Hmmm, I might meet some handsome American guy, and we might have some fun." Melissa joked.

"I hope you don't do the things you did to your last boyfriend." Lara reminded her and continued to eat her pizza.

Melissa laughed, remembering what she did."It's not my fault that he couldn't satisfy my desires."

Lara rolled her eyes and said."Oh, come on. You had wild fantasies that made the poor guy run away from you. "

"They weren't wild. I'm just an open-minded person." Melissa replied to her friend's words.

Shaking her head hopelessly and said."You need to see a doctor,"

With that, Lara stood up and took the rest of the pizza with her.

"I'm going to my room."

"Don't overwork yourself. Get some rest." Melissa said, knowing how her friend is a workaholic person,

"I will." Lara replied before closing the door to her room.

Putting the pizza box on the table, Lara picked up one of the files and started working on it.

The next morning.

"That's impressive." Mr. Stoll, the manager of the financel department said."You managed to review a full year's reports." He added as he read Lara's reports.

"I only did my job, Mr. Stoll." She replied with a small smile on her face, trying to stay polite to her new boss, but for some reason, she didn't like the man, especially his comb-over haircut.

"Today the CEO scheduled a meeting at three o'clock. I need you to be present there on my behalf. It will be both your first test and experience for you." Mr. Stoll said as he signed the review

At first, Lara was surprised that her boss was asking her something about attending a meeting on her second day of work but then she knew that she was up for it and she will get to see the hot CEO.

"Yes, Sir. I will inform you of the details after the meeting." Lara replied and left, going back to her office.

Now that is a good thing, Lara thought to herself.
