Chapter 1 Alone

A little girl with a gift, and a love for music frozen into a world that she used to know,

But her purpose is yet to be seen.

Dark cold underwater shadows, where the light barely touches the silhouettes of fish, swimming around in the darkness, as small bubbles float up and disappear in the light above. Swimming in the dark and releasing the group of fish, leaving them to swim freely into different directions, leaving at least one fish behind. Silent songs of the heart in the ocean, makes the ocean roar with pain, pushing the one fish aside. The blanket of water with it's dark blue hues, as the fish swims under the waters protection, from the beating sun above. The cold colors of the sea makes the sun seem small. The fish splashing sparkling water into the warm sun and falling back down into the water. Fading fog from previous storms of the sea left ghost stories of the ships that sailed these waters and sometimes never returned. A black ship that defies the sea and its waves crashing against the wall of this ship making echoes throughout the inside of the empty rooms of skeletons. The wind piercing through the cracks left in the sides of the rooms with no rest or pain.

Silence, something that can't be heard or spoken.

The sea without it's rage, and the violin without it's bow makes a lonely company.

A ship without its captain or crew to make it sail. The adventures went as stale as the bread on my plate. the water turned sour as the drink in my cup and the ship is as black as my heart.

Pale white round eyes, looking down on her plate of what little food there is.

Only a few grapes, stale bread, and a small slice of meat. A small portion of juice in her cup to sooth her cracked lips only finding herself wanting more.

This girl never asked to be all alone, and being unable to speak made it worse.

Little was to be said when she felt alone with no company near her knowing that she might die in the sea.

Her hands were shaking to the idea she would die alone.

Eating the food on her plate she wonder if she really is alone. Everything was silent with no sounds except for the ocean and the creaking woods of the ship with the wind blowing against the sails making the ship at least move somewhere. She can't help but think that she could end up on land someday. Even if she does land, what next? She doesn't know how to locate things and the map is useless without the knowledge of using it, and she doubts that she would have a welcome if she does find land.

She knows how to move the ship and the other things but, it's useless without knowing where to go.

She is lost at sea without anyone to guide or direct her to land. Only the ship to protect her from whatever she finds, something she could fear.

Oh how she wishes to see her captain's face again and his big bushy beard or anyone at all. Now she only has herself and there nothing that can be changed.

She stood up and cleaned the plate and cup and put them away.

She took a step outside feeling the cold wind on her face and the sounds of the ocean all around her.

Another day at sea, she could just drown herself in its deep salty waters, but she couldn't.

Looks like it's going to rain, she said in her mind.

With a very deep sigh she walked to the front of the ship and sat on the bowstrip with a woman's face carved on it that was rotting away.

She sat down staring into the endless sea that portrays her emotions so well, that the sky and sea seems to obey her.

Still sitting she reaches in her brown cloth pants, only to bring out a knife and a piece of wood that was slowly carved with small indents all around, not exactly knowing what it is she's making.

She just starts carving into it looking for something it to look like.

With only her memory to rely on as she tries carving a bird carefully.

Tears streamed down her face and gripping tightly on the wooden bird in her bandaged hands. She almost forgot the pain that came from her wounds, and in her mind she wishes many things that didn't happen. Many things she wants and many things she needs in her life to make her life filled with cheer. A conversation she wishes to have or someone to look for her when she feels lost. A repeating thought that comes whenever she wants something.

She does not really have physical wounds and to her, the bandages make her think that if she can hold in the pain she could feel better. The feelings that you have not seen in yourself can make things open up and can destroy yourself if you let it.

She has many memories of her favorite people in the world, and if you had someone you never want to be gone, then that person just for a few seconds there then disappeared in time.

She has bandages from her hands up past her nose covering her arms, shoulders, and mouth.

As she drove the ship near a small rock alone in the sea that she used to remember, but the memory of land doesn't seem that familiar to her anymore.

As she left the ship to swim towards this rock, and climbed on it to sit on it, and to think in her thoughts. Tears streamed down her face as the fog grew around her, and she stood up unwrapping her bandages not caring if anything happens, and sang this song to release her thoughts into a sad yet soothing song with a feeling of confusion and scared.

She danced on the little rock and holding her arms showing she is truly lonely, and wanting someone to save her from her own sadness, as she has made anyone listening go into a trance of being hypnotized by a simple voice, but she's alone on a rock with her feelings pouring out in song. The sea seems to understand her feelings and followed her feelings movements.

As she continues to hurt herself with her past. a voice that many ears would go for, but seems to not seem to reach any that she could see.

She loved the smiles that she saw every day on the ship, and loves to see them even when they weren't completely happy. The family I lost.

Standing up she lifts up her arms to feel the wind curve around her skin feeling the cold air that surrounds her.

at the end of her song for a few hours staring into the waters as she wrapped the bandages back on, and her arms hugging as she cried with drops of fear, shame, loneliness, and guilt rained down her face.

she wants to be saved.

She then stood up and covered mouth as she screamed with her emotions all out at once.

Then the sound of a horn rang through as she looked around with fear not knowing what it was.

She saw a large shadow as she jumped into the water as the large metal wall smashed into the rock as it pierced a small hole into making the metal ship stayed still on the rock.

the sky was grey as the clouds clustered together until it began to pour as the fog slowly disappears, but not completely.

She swam in the chilling waters as there was confused hearing voices from the large ship of metal.

She climbed her black ship, and as she sailed by the metal bars of the other ship, and grabbed hold of the bars as she quietly peeked before climbing inside on the clean white floor as her black messy short hair hung over covering her face, and snuck near any kind of shadow that was closest to her and disappeared in it as if she wasn't there.

The large black ship sailed off in the distance, and stopped rarely visible in the fog as if it had a mind of its own.

The men on the large metal ship piled in a spot on the ship's floor beginning to snap out of their little thoughts that they forgot.

They looked around confused as to how they got here all together in one spot.

Very few stayed on the ground dazed as if they've been been hit by a strong wind, and could hardly get back up.

"What just happened?" said one of the crew men that could hardly stand as he tried.

"I don't quite remember." Another crew member said rubbing his head confused.

The crew member that tried to stand then fell on the other crewmember behind him as they laid there dazed for a few moments.

"I don't feel so well." said a crewmate to his friend next to him, and his friend replied "Is everyone else alright?"

The crewmate ran to the side of the ship to relieve his sick stomach, as white round eyes watched him from a shadow, that quickly ran away when the crewmate finished and look behind him seeing only his own shadow.

"Where did all this fog come from, and where are we?" The Captain asked the coordinator.

The coordinator spoke with the navigators and replied "We're not sure with all the confusion and the broken pieces on the ship." she paused and then said "We'll have to fix the repairs before we can call for help, and anything else." she finished being also confused, but curious and suspicious.

"Okay everyone, gather around for what we need to do." He announced as he gathered the crews attention.

"We need you the technicians to work on the communication systems, and the navigating instruments." as he turned his head to each group with an order.

"And the first group for searching this ship for any other damages to this ship, then report back to me, and the rest of you find out what caused this in the first place, going now."

With that, everyone left that area to their new assignments.

"How long will it take for the ship to be fixed?" The captain asked the coordinator.

"with the amount of things that need to be fixed without knowing what happened would be around a few days." she answered.

"let's see if we can get it done sooner." Captain said as he looked towards the ocean almost spotting the black ship on the waters.

Meanwhile looking back on one of the groups that was sent to look for the cause of this mysterious crash on the rock.

"Come on fish, we gotta check the ship of what happened." as he patted his friends back with his face showing that he still doesn't feel well.

"just give me a sec I'll be with you Jack." as he tilts his head towards the water in a sickly manner as Jack just stood there patiently.

Then he grabbed his arm when he was done "lets go, now."

The shadow followed them wherever there was a nearby shadow she could hide in as you couldn't even see her body as it moved unnaturally on the walls as a shadow.

The fog stays as tension within each of the crew members grew as time past wondering what exactly happened, As the girls stayed silent of what happened as they cautiously watch the men while they worked.

"Fish, do you see the expression on all the girls faces we past?" Jack asked his friend curiously, and a hint of worry. "Sorry, I haven't noticed." Fish said as his face showed that he's still not feeling well.

Jack felt something moving for a moment behind them, then turned only to see his own shadow.

" hmm." He sounded as the thoughts of being watched in his mind.

He continues with his friend as he felt shivers up his spine.

I watched them as they turned around the corner unaware of my existence.

Slowly walking out into the open and up against the railing as my arms rest on the cold metal bars shivering a bit. With the wind circling the air like a swarm of birds of invisible feathers floating instead of flying. Arms became more cold and I wrapped them with my hands.

The ship croaking from staying on the rock as it tilts back and forth slowly that hardly anyone would notice. I was cold enough that my breath was no longer warm, that would usually have a small mist of hot air rising.

I heard something, and turned around as the eyes of the two men saw me.

Suddenly spooked I ran around a corner and my body disappeared in the wall as I became a shadow.

I held my breath as they cluelessly look around confused, and not understanding where I went.

I giggled for a split second as they looked at me on the wall, and I climbed upwards to the second dock unsure what kind of ship this is, and scared of my own curiosity.

Heart is beating fast as I hear their startled feet following to come to the second level, and I searched for someplace to hide, but I couldn't blend in with the wall with my heart beating so fast. Full of fear I hid in a shadowed area under a wheel as I covered myself with my arms, and waited patiently as I wait for them to leave. My arms gripping almost hurting, and my eyes stinging as my mouth became dry with motionless focus. " what was that? " Jack asked his friend " I don't know, but this is really creepy and I don't like it. We should head back." his friend replied. " I want to know what that was first, and stop grabbing my arm. " Jack spoke as he carefully scanned the area and noticed something odd near the wheel to the ship.

" Hey, are you okay? " He kneeled down near me as I could almost feel his breath from a few lengths away. Tears started streaming as I was found, and couldn't speak as my words are choked down in my throat. My head slowly rose as my white eyes shone that startled his friend backwards a bit. He offered his hand as I stared at it confused, and scared.

My spine was frozen as I was glaring at him with a cold stare, and my chest hurting almost holding back the tears making them stop. I wasn't sure what to do, and I don't like being the one that needs to be picked up. I felt so helpless, and defeated.

My inside turned as I felt something change like an instant spark of an unknown fearful flame.

My hands shook as I was filled with this sudden need to flee, and without hesitation I knocked him down and ran away dodging the other going down the ship's stairs swiftly.

Scared almost to death that I would have to face something that I don't understand.

Unusual things that has been to my attention ever since I saw that ship as I hid, and let them go by me as I slipped into somewhere I don't know anymore on this odd ship.

What have I gotten myself into, but it does kind of feel nice to around others even if they're after me.

I'm not sure what happened, but I'm gonna find a way to fix this, and hopefully soon.

It was dark as my fingers slid on the wall feeling with my body as to where I am, and where to go. I smell metal all around me as I walked more towards the center of the ship I think, but I think I kinda lost track after being in the dark even for a little bit as I stopped there lost, but I still stayed calm.

I moved further into the dark place as I can barely see any shadows at all, and I almost tripped on something that came across my path. My hand carefully floated down towards the ground, and picked up something familiar from the moment I could feel it's wooden neck.

My fingers felt around it as my mind made the shape clearly as my hand was connected to my thoughts, and the feeling of strings, and a bow that rested on it slightly sliding as I grabbed it before it slid off of this instrument.

It would be my thoughts that has summed up what the object was, and I would be a fool if my hands was wrong, for what was in my hands was a violin.

I already knew what it was the moment I lifted the neck of it.

I continued to walk around with the violin in my hands as it felt as though the violin was my partner. Crates was in my way as I felt them with my other hand guiding me through this maze of boxes. I knew the entrance I came from, but didn't bother to go back to it.

I knew that I didn't want to be found as fear has taken hold of my thoughts as I knew they'd searching for me. Confusion then entered my mind as I lost track of things as my fear combined with my other thoughts made me confused.

Lost in my mind I stopped, and sat on the ground leaning against a box to calm down.

I'm so used to being lost with someone by my side.

As it felt peaceful to be somewhere where there is people that hasn't found me has made me smile, and my heart started to beat slowly as I haven't felt for a long time.

I knew I needed to be near people, and it didn't matter who as long as I felt somewhat safe.

The violin in my hand was now my companion as I wanted to play it, but refused to be heard.

So I sat there as I started to hear footsteps echoing this empty space of cold metal, and I calmly just sat there as I listened to the whereabouts of each of them carefully excitedly.

I just sat for a really long time as I waited to be found I guess. I picked up the violin as I felt it's strings, and gently tuned it as I lifted up the bow and had it go across the strings slowly not really knowing what to play. I've never played a violin before, and I always wanted to play one, or learn how to play music on it. Slowly moving the bow across the strings as a soft sound released into the dark atmosphere, and as I heard it I suddenly put back down as I heard the footsteps sputtered, I started to panic once more as I too sputter to get away from them.

I'm scared, yet not scared. It's like I couldn't decide if I wanted to go or stay.

If I go back to my ship, I might not be able to find land or food soon, and if I stay here where they can find me as who knows what they do to those that are like me.

I know I'm scared, but I have to stay if I am to get through this. Strong feelings of curiosity, and fear kept me at bay.

"Fish, don't worry about her for now, and we can report this to the captain after we finish looking around." Jake told Fish as his expression was concerned, but at the same hand trying to stay calm. "Well okay, but I won't forget this when we report this to the captain." Fish said with slight fear mixed with a bit of curiosity.

Everything felt slow, and uninteresting as time ticked by slowly looking at the sky, and the position of the sun. Sitting in the dark in a part of the ship where the sun never shines she watches the crew flock to where ever they've been sent to do. "this is taking forever." her thoughts echoed throughout her mind, but with almost no will to do anything about it. Her head began to droop as the day turned orange, and the her eyes began to close with the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Is there anyone out there who can make me feel safe? Is there anyone out there who could never be afraid? I could only dream of all the things I would need. Should I wander a little more, not knowing when I'm free. These words came in my mind like a song or a lullaby that could make me feel safe. Is there anyone out there that can make me feel safe anymore?

My heavy eyes closed as I drifted off into a deep sleep.

A dream, or a memory surrounded me as my eyes opened to myself in a corner of a wooden room shivering, and cold. Sounds surround this room as I held my legs watching the door hoping it'll end, but I knew that I can't stop it. I shouldn't.

I woke up in a warm room with light caramel painted walls, and a vanity that reflected myself laying down in a bed without my bandages. Startled by this change I sat up jumping off the bed to rush to the mirror. My hand felt my face to make sure this wasn't a dream, but it wasn't.
