6 Other Side

Adam and Carmilla made their way through the spatial distortion and found a long corridor with what seemed to be no end. "Adam, are we sure about this, I'm not a fan of dark long corridors. I have had my fair share of those in my life and mind you, I have only lived for 3 decades- no more, no less." Carmilla had a dark look on her face as she said that.

Carmilla for once seemed to take this as something of concern. "I'm not quite sure about this either but it seems like we can't turn tail now, can we?" Adam said as he looked back to find no traces of a distortion. "Don't you think we should have prepared before entering a whole a*s new realm?"

Adam only shook her head at her vulgar language before progressing through the passage. She followed behind him while marvelling at his slick silver hair becoming a nice shade of brown and his sword vanishing into a gale of mist before flowing into his mouth. They walked for what felt like hours until they chanced upon a massive hole in the middle of the corridor. "What now, do we jump down?" Adam asked. "What choice do we have?"

Carmilla held out her hand and Adam grabbed it before jumping down and pulling Carmilla with him. The fall didn't last for as long as they thought it would and they soon saw light at the bottom.

Adam quickly conjured a machete and stuck it in the wall to reduce their falling speed. As they reached the ground, they saw a cell with torches surrounding it. "Pretty ominous don't you think?" Carmilla stared down the cell after saying that. Adam cautiously walked over to the cell and picked up a torch beside it before entering it. The cell went on for a bit before the scenery changed. They suddenly saw a meadow with a massive chest in the middle and a sloth sleeping on top of it.

"Don't you think that things have been a bit too peaceful lately, we are in a da*n labyrinth for God's sake." What she said got Adam thinking. They entered a spatial distortion known for containing valuable treasures and yet they didn't think to prepare for the dangers that may be guarding these riches. "Well, we can't do anything now that we have already entered so we see what's in the chest or we die trying."

The sloth seemed oblivious to the arrival of the two. The two crept up to and reached out to the chest before Carmilla went flying and hitting a tree almost 20 metres away. Adam looked towards the chest in shock before the sloth's eyes shot open and abruptly disappeared from Adam's sight. Adam suddenly felt a searing pain in his abdomen before seeing himself darting through the air and spitting blood from the impact.

"Adam!!!" Carmilla shouted in fear and struggled to get up before falling through the tree's shadow and appearing near Adam. The sloth watched all of this with a lazy visage and once again vanished before appearing next to Carmilla and kicking her with the force of a truck.

The sloth seemed to be teleporting but that was not the case at all. Normally, teleportation, no matter the scale, contained traces of spatial energy. This sloth on the other hand didn't and instead seemed to be crossing these distances with its raw speed. Adam took note of this and fell into despair. They couldn't compete with something they couldn't see let alone defeat it.

He didn't give up though and instead started thinking of ways to fight this sloth. As he was thinking Carmilla was still flying through the air with the speed of a bullet before reaching the ground and skipping across it like a pebble on water. She tried to stop herself, but the sloth didn't let her off that easily. It seemed to enjoy tormenting Carmilla as it kept on kicking her around at immense speeds. All Adam saw was Carmilla bouncing back and forth in the same area for a few second before causing a gust of cold wind to blow towards them.

That didn't help at all, and Adam was at a loss. His despair didn't last long though as he suddenly felt a bloodcurdling aura erupting from Carmilla as a shockwave erupted outwards and hit Adam far further than the sloth managed to. He looked to the distance before seeing a large dome expand and envelope the three.
