Alone Time

I sigh and make my way over as Chip makes a quick exit. Alec watches my every move with dark hungry eyes. I lift my leg and slowly sit in his lap, straddling him. He arches a dark eyebrow but doesn't say anything. "To be honest, I thought your meeting would last longer... I went to my childhood home."

He pauses slightly before placing his large hand on my hip. "Why did you go there?" He asks in a low calm voice. I lean forward and place my chin on his shoulder as I say "I was looking for... answers." Alec places his glass on the side table next to the couch and gently pulls me closer.

"Did you find your answers?" He asks while rubbing my back gently. I close my eyes and see my Mother's sad eyes... "I found my Mother," I say softly causing Alec to freeze. "She's alive?" He asks with shock. I shake my head and say "She's dead... I met her... spirit?"
