Old Friends And New Secrets

I opened my eyes and found myself in a weird white room.

"Huh, where am I?'"I said in confusion as I hastily got up from the bed.

"So you're finally awake" Someone whispered from behind me.

As I turned around, I saw a woman in her 20s wearing a nursing outfit. That woman had blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She gave me a sinister smile.

"You don't remember, do you?" she said with a grin.

"I'm even more confused," I said, pausing uncertainly.

"Well, technically it's not so bad that you don't remember. I mean, you were shot in the head," she said.

"Sh-hot in the head??" I questioned.

"What do you expect when you work with villains?" she asked as her smile turned into a grin.

"What villains??" I asked.

"Miri, stop teasing him already," a familiar voice said behind me.

"Yes nee-san," she said.

"Chizuru right ??" I said anxiously looking at her.

"Hey Woojin, is there something you want to ask me?" she questioned.

"Well..." I said.

"He doesn't remember anything nee-san," Miri said without hesitation.

"That would be a problem for us, " A familiar voice said from behind Chizuru.

"What are you doing here, Tae Ha hyung?" I said, surprised to see my childhood friend in front of me.

"What do you think I'm doing here, Woojin?" he asked with a big smile.

It had been a long time since I last saw him, but I realized he had grown up a lot when we finally met. We used to be very close friends since childhood and remained so until high school. However, when we had to choose our career paths, we went our separate ways. He still had the same dark black hair and ocean blue eyes I remembered, but his voice and height had changed. Our group consisted of four people: me, Kim Jaymin (Ali), Eunwoo Hyung, and Taeha Hyung. Taeha Hyung used to be the shortest among us. He transferred to another high school during his second year, and we never saw him after that. I was taken aback to find him standing directly before me.

"Taeha Aniki Woojin has lost his memories and cannot remember what happened to him," Miri explained.

"That explains his confused look, "Taeha hyung said.

"How much do you remember??" He asked me.

"I remember fainting when I met Chizuru san," I said.

"Um," Miri said with a confused expression.

"Wait, let me get this straight," Chizuru said with a curious look on her face. "Are you talking about when we first met? That feels like ages ago."

I was completely puzzled and couldn't make sense of what was happening. My mind was racing trying to figure out what was happening, but I was left confused. What was happening? I needed answers.

"Hey, Woojin. You remember meeting Chizuru six months ago, right?" Taeha hyung asked, his expression filled with concern.

"Wait, what? Six what?!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in shock. "Oh no, please tell me I didn't sleep for six whole months!" My heart began to race as a wave of worry washed over me.

"Relax, you haven't been out for six whole months," Miri reassured me, sensing my confusion. "But you were knocked out for a solid month, my friend."

"Whoa, hold on tight! While you were out, a bunch of crazy stuff went down," exclaimed Taeha hyung.

I tried to make sense of what was going on in the room, but couldn't understand anything from what they told me. I decided to ask them about what happened.

"I'm sorry, could you fill me in on what happened?" I asked, my face showing how lost I was.

"We were going to tell you anyway," Taeha hyung said.

"I see," I said.

"So you see," Taeha hyung said as he sat down on the chair next to me.

"Hey, just to jog your memory, do you recall the deal you made with Kang Seo Jun's secretary?" The words echoed through the room, stirring up a sense of urgency in the air.

"I do," I replied with a nod of my head.

"Great! Then, let's dive right into it. Keep up with me, okay?" he exclaimed.

"Okay," I replied.

"You went to see Kang Taeha after the deal but changed your mind after meeting him, deciding to help him out and succeeding in winning his case." He said.

"But why ??" I Questioned.

"Really?" he said, rolling his eyes. "I was your target all along?"

I was completely taken aback and couldn't utter a single word. But as I pondered over the situation, everything finally made sense to me and I realized why I had hesitated to agree to the deal in the first place.

"He made a sudden change of decision, and Seo Jun was so out of it that he couldn't bear to see that he had fallen into the trap he set. So, he decided to end you and believes that he succeeded. It's not exactly pleasant, is it?" He said with a grin on his face.

As I sat there, my mind racing, I realized I was bound. "I guess," I muttered, unsure what to say next. The weight of the situation was starting to sink in, and I knew I needed to act fast.

Taeha hyung gave me an ID card."Han Woojin is dead, but Kim Minhyuk isn't," he said.

"Interesting," I murmured, gazing at the card with a puzzled expression. My mind was blank, trying to make sense of everything.

"Great news! You'll be working under my guidance," he said with a beaming smile.

"What does that mean??" I asked.

"I sent my secretary to check on you when you were attacked. He got killed in your stead. You will be taking his place until this mess gets cleaned." He said

"But" Before I could say anything else.

"He looked exactly like you so don't worry no one will suspect you," Taeha hyung said, cutting me off.

Have you ever experienced that moment when someone says the right thing that makes you feel like they can read your mind and know exactly what you need to hear? That's exactly how I felt when he spoke to me - all my worries vanished!

"Take your time and rest well," he said before leaving.

I stood up and walked to the window. Looking outside felt calming after what just happened.
