Chapter 86 – Memories with Aglaya 2

Of all the nights I've spent in this palace, I'm certain I can classify five nights as the worst in the five years I've been here. Each one was eerie in its own way, whether it was strange noises, haunting lights outside my window, or odd behaviors from the girls in the room. 

I'm not easily frightened; I'm not afraid of the dark, wild animals, or threats. It's a fact; I hardly fear anything. But some things don't care how brave you are. 

You could be Rambo himself, fighting an army in the middle of the night in a dense forest full of wild beasts, and some things would still scare you like a five-year-old child. I've been through it, so I know what I'm talking about. 

What was I supposed to think when I saw some sort of neon gas cloud emitting sounds like a fork scratching a glass plate? To make matters worse, this cloud was somehow hovering right outside my window in the dead of night, as if it was watching me or waiting for a reaction...
