1 CHAPTER 1

"How pitiful?" a female voice lamented, her voice laced with worry and pity.

In front of a young woman, a dead bird lay on the ground. And just looking at it, she could tell that it had been dead for a while now.

"To just die like this and have no one know about this. I feel sorry for you. Since I have seen you, I will perform a kind act and send you off peacefully!" the girl said woefully as she picked the dead bird with her hands.

Diamond never thought that the mountain climbing she did on a whim after receiving a short vacation from work would result in her finding a dead bird.

Of course, there was nothing special about finding a dead bird, after all, so many birds die every single day. But she had gotten used to doing such good acts whenever she came across something similar.

Diamond was born and raised in the countryside. She was spoiled and pampered when growing up, despite her family being not being rich.

She wasn't a clever person, but she worked hard in everything she did, as she didn't want to let down her parents. Diamond wasn't an only child, but she had a younger sister who was doing her senior year in high school.

Her father worked in a factory while her mother was a hairdresser.

Her family wasn't rich, but they had enough to live by.

She was lucky enough to pass her college entrance exam and enrolled in a third-rate university in a big city called Srad.

The world she lived in wasn't that complicated. There are seven continents, namely Eastern Idian, Sianea Babial, Nogria, Lostrus, Afreeka, Thiaton, and Orkney.

She lived on the continent of Orkney; her country is called Athary, and it was a big country. Orkney, Afreeka, and Thiaton are three continents with a lot of black people.

She was light brown in complexion and average. Her beauty could be rated to be at least five out of ten.

However, there was an issue. Diamond had rarely shown her face for some time now.

About one year ago, she contracted a rash that she had failed to treat until now. She tried several creams and visited doctors, but to no avail, she still failed to get better.

In the end, she accepted it and decided to take things slowly.

Diamond quickly dug a hole, which she used as a grave for the bird. She put some flowers on top and made a quick prayer, although it was completely unnecessary.

"Lord, please have mercy on this poor soul. May she or he be reborn as a person in the next life and if it's impossible, then may she/he live a happy life no matter what it may be."

Diamond had her eyes closed as she made this silly prayer. And what she didn't know was that a strange shadow rose from the small grave and circled her so quickly before penetrating her, to be not seen again.

Diamond didn't feel a single thing and simply opened her eyes with a smile when she was done.

Diamond looked at the small grave for the last time and descended the mountain. This was the last day of her vacation and she would be returning to the city in the morning.

It didn't take long before Diamond was back at the camping site where she set up her tent. As she couldn't afford to stay in hotels or motels, as she had been busy saving money to start a small business in the next few years, she had to make do with what she had.

She didn't cook but bought some food at the nearest food stall before going to bed for that night.

It's just that when she was about to really sleep, something very strange happened to her and it made her very sober and woke her up.

Diamond, who had been sleepy a while ago, was now completely awake, trying her best to test whether she was hallucinating or not.

Currently, inside her head, a monotonous voice kept on repeating some familiar words repeatedly that she was afraid of confirming.

Was that a dream? She wanted that to be so true and, at the same time, she was afraid that it was a dream.

As someone who enjoyed reading web novels and manga. How could she not be shocked when something that only happened in stories was currently happening to her?

[Because of the good deeds of Diamond Perry, you have been chosen to be rewarded with a system randomly. Do you want to bind to one? YES/NO]

Because of this strange notification in her head and also the glaring words, only she could see, she was dumbfounded.

'Is my mind playing tricks on me? I really want this to be real!'

[If you don't choose in thirty seconds, you will lose this chance forever!]

Now that was very cold and scary to hear. Not wanting to let go of this opportunity, although it may be a hallucination, she quickly accepted, "I will bind with the system."

Since it was random, she didn't even know what she was going to get, but she sincerely hoped that it was a system that wouldn't issue any mission, no punishments but give her rewards.

She wanted to be rich, make her family live in comfort, cure her rash, be beautiful, and above all, she wanted to ....ummmm…. it was a crazy dream, but as someone who has been living in the world of books recently and enjoying the reverse-harem genre, she wanted to keep a harem of her own.

Love was a scary thing, and she didn't want to get hurt at all, and keeping many boys would definitely prevent her from falling deep for another man. She had been hurt a lot and the scar she received last time was enough to stop her from dating.
