Chapter 002 - Alien Eggs

The tavern is not very big, Fate went in and looked around in a few eyes, there are only six countertops inside, surprisingly, the wooden table is set with a good white velvet cloth, the transparent shiny tableware is neatly arranged, not much worse than the original table he has seen in Baron Hank's house.

The fat woman from earlier had run off somewhere, and there was no one in the empty tavern at this time.

"Wait your turn." Without looking back the teenager threw a word at Fate and headed straight for the west corner of the tavern. There stood a large pot, the turpentine wood underneath was burning brightly, crackling and bursting with a gust of grease aroma, the pot rattled loudly, the teenager walked over to the pot and lifted up the lid, and a strange aroma filled the room at once.

Smelling the strange aroma, Fate's mouth watered, and feigning concern he busied himself by running over and calling out, "Be careful of the burn."

Running to the pot, Fate saw the pot of thick broth rolling along, tossing up and down with some unnamed plant, and with the stirring of a large wooden-handled spoon in the teenager's hand, a huge bone came into Fate's view.

"This is the leg bone of the fourth level magic beast Arrow Hair Porcupine, right?" Fate's eyes glistened green as he desperately gulped, his nose slightly agitated as he wondered, "The meat of the Arrow Hair Porcupine is rough and sour, so how could it smell so good."

The teenager smiled back at him and, without saying a word, grabbed a few bowls of strange powder nearby and threw them into the pot, instantly making the scent even stronger.

"Johnsan, hurry up, the guests will be coming later." The fat woman said as she appeared out of nowhere and walked over to the pot, and judging by the frequency with which her nose stirred and the smile on her face, Fate thought she was intoxicated by the scent as well.

"Who are you?" The fat woman looked at Fate warily and said, "Begging for food come back later, the old lady hasn't opened yet what are you running here for, looking for a fight."

Fate choked, angry and anxious, and said, "Look carefully, who is a beggar, I am a noble magician."

The fat woman eeped, she then realized that the tattered black robe on Fate was actually a magic robe, but then she looked contemptuous and said, "So what if it's a magician, but it's just a black-robed junior magician, no use at all."

Fate nearly jumped out of his skin in anger, and began to chant a magic incantation under his breath as a white mist gradually floated around his body.

"Gah ..." The obscure magic spell was only halfway chanted when Fate was lifted into mid-air by the fat woman's bear paw-like right hand pinching her neck, and the watery element that had been so hard to condense instantly dissipated.

That's when the teenager known as Johnsan interjected, "Auntie Anna, let him go, Mr. Fateh is a guest I invited."

Once the fat woman Anna heard this, she let go of Fate's neck and walked towards the door, saying as she walked, "Not to mention the primary magician, the last time that intermediate magician tried to flirt with the old lady, the old lady didn't just slap her over."

Fate reached up and stroked the thin neck that had been pinched with fingerprints, her face reddening as she heard the fat woman's mutterings and gave up the idea of retaliation with a shiver.

"Johnsan, gee, are you the Johnsan that the mercenary union has a bounty on?" asked Fate as he suddenly remembered something and squeezed up to the teenager.

Johnsan's face reddened slightly and smiled, revealing a mouthful of white and neat teeth as he said, "That was a misunderstanding, Andri, the blacksmith of the East Street, was just venting out his heart's depression in that way."

"So you're not scared?"

Johnsan laughed and said, "The Locomotive town guys took it as a joke, no one was going to take that assignment."

"What is this stuff? How come I've never seen it before, it smells so good." Fate's stomach began to growl.

"Johnsan, the usual, fifty kebabs to start, remember just beef." A tall teenager came in the doorway of the tavern shouting at the top of his voice, his short clothes couldn't hide his exploding muscles, he was carrying a huge axe on his shoulder, and his disheveled hair looked like a savage orc.

"What the hell." Johnsan didn't raise her head and said crisply, "Silu, Anna has been looking for you for a long time, so you should settle the last payment first."

"Silu, I thought you weren't coming." Anna jumped out and said through gritted teeth, "No one has dared to owe my mom money and not pay back, last time you ate two hundred meat skewers and slipped away when my mom wasn't looking, I thought you weren't coming back!"

Cyrus hemmed and hawed, threw his axe on the ground with a thud, probed into his pocket and pulled out a few shiny crystal cores, saying, "Boss lady, do you think these will be enough?"

One was a level two Flame Serpent Magic Crystal and two level three Wind Wolves.

Fate's eyes were glowing, he looked at Xilu a few times, but he didn't believe that he got it from hunting magical beasts. To hunt the magic crystals of the third-grade wind wolf, at least to intermediate warriors can, see Xilu age is not more than seventeen or eighteen, Fate naturally do not believe it.

A moment ago Anna was still a grimace, immediately turned into a face full of smiles, with a speed that is extremely inconsistent with the size of the body swept to the front of Xilu, and with a stretch of the hand rolled a few magic crystals into their hands.

"O Seiru, I have long said that you are the best among the young people of our THE Locomotive town, and you will surely become a greatest warrior in the future."

Silu's heart was happy to hear it, leaned back in his chair and sat down, saying, "Auntie Anna, these magic crystals are the result of my hard work alone, so at least I can have fifty meals at your place, right?"

"Thirty tons." The magic crystals were tucked into her arms, and Anna immediately rolled her eyes.

"Forty tons." Cyrus, anxious, drew himself up.

"Thirty-five meals, absolutely no more, hell, you have an appetite bigger than a raging bear." Anna was relieved.

"Deal." With a smile on his face, Cyrus ran over to Fate's side like a nobody's business, saying, "Johnsan, did you hear that, the boss's wife said, so let's hot a hundred skewers of beef for me first."

Johnsan glanced at him and grabbed a large handful of meat skewered on bamboo sticks and threw it into the pot. Only then did Fateh see a row of bamboo baskets next to the pot, filled with all kinds of meat and vegetables, all skewered together on bamboo sticks in a beautiful red and green color.

"You ran off to the Moonfall Mountain Range again?"

Silu scratched his head and said, "What's the solution if you don't go, you always have to eat." Saying that, he mysteriously leaned to Johnsan's body and whispered, "I followed the method you taught me, set a few traps at the edge of the Falling Moon Mountain Range ten miles away from the town, waited for a day and a night, and finally trapped a small adventuring party. I used the medicinal powder you gave me to stun them, and after grabbing the magic crystals I hurriedly ran back."

Fate denied a sweaty face, and when he saw Siro glaring at himself, he had the sense to look toward the pot and pretend he hadn't heard anything.

"What's so expensive to eat, those magic crystals together can be sold for at least a few gold coins." Fate muttered in his heart, he felt that this big man was a bit stupid.

"Why don't you let me grab their weapons and battle armor?" Cyrus frowned, "You could sell them for more money that way when you get them back."

"I said you're stupid, you're really stupid." Johnsan scolded, "The Locomotive town is just a small place, no matter who you sell it to, it will always be found out, and if those mercenaries and adventurers are related to those people in the town, it will be a big trouble then."

"No wonder you told me to cover my face when I robbed." Silu came to a realization.

"Letting you cover your face is just for show, with your unique size, you think they won't recognize you. They're afraid of your old man and the old guys in town, plus as long as you don't show your face, there's no real evidence for them to say it's even more like that, so who can do anything about you?"

Cyrus hemmed and hawed and said, "Johnsan, I don't understand much of what you're saying, but I believe you."

Fate's eyes were on the kebabs flopping in the pan, and he said to himself, "Is this still a teenager?"

"Okay." Johnsan fished out a couple dozen kebabs and handed them to Seiru, saying, "Chili powder and stuff is on the table, so brush yourself with as much as you want."

Not caring to talk, and not afraid of the heat, Cyrus reached out his mouth and jerked off four skewers at once, chewing as he walked away.

"Mr. Fateh, these are for you first, there's plenty more over there, just see what you want and bring it over." Johnsan smiled and handed Fate a couple of kebabs.

Fate nodded, and his mouth didn't dare to open, he was afraid that with one mouth the raging saliva would surge out. Walking to the side and gently biting into it, a strange fragrance that he had never tasted before blossomed on his tongue.

"Yummy, so yummy." Fate slurred, desperate to swallow his tongue.

By this time, the tavern was full of customers, mostly for Johnsan's unique meat skewers, and a few ordered fancy vegetable skewers, though they were few and far between.

It's only fifty strings for a silver coin!

Fate ate and watched, secretly tsk tongue, anyway, no money, he cheekily ran over and asked for a few more skewers of vegetables, eating really another fresh flavor.

Anna was only responsible for collecting the money, and was happy to smile, Johnsan had been standing on the stool by the pot and was busy, tiny grains of sweat were spread all over his forehead, and he didn't see him cry out of tiredness after working for a long time.

Slowly there were fewer people, and only Silu was still sitting at the table with his head buried in his food, a pile of bamboo sticks in front of him, and from time to time, he used a brush to brush some red powder on the pieces of meat, eating and sweating.

Fateh saw it and felt his mouth burning, just now he also tried the powder called "chili pepper", his mouth seemed to be on fire, he almost did not spit out.

"Mr. Fateh, have you had enough?" Johnsan wiped the sweat off his face as he walked up to Fate, his face red from the steam of the water.

"Thank you." With a grateful face, Fate was busy standing up and said, "I've never eaten such delicious food, what's the name of this?"

"Spicy hot." Johnsan said a term Fate had never heard before and added, "Come with me for a moment, I have something I want to ask you."

"As you wish." Fate followed him to the backyard.

Looking around to see that no one was there, Johnsan covered the back door and said, "Would you look at this?"

Without seeing any movement from Li Jun, a half-leg-high egg-like item appeared on the clearing, with a piece of sticky silk on it, just like a magical beast's egg.

"He has a space ring?"

Fate mentally flinched, but then he didn't see any jewelry on Johnsan's fingers, and his eyes were drawn back to the Wraith Egg.

"Look faster, see?" Johnsan's look was tense, his hands clenched involuntarily.

"Well, this is definitely a magical beast egg, as for what it is, I can't say." Fate murmured, "But looking at the surface so sticky and silky, it should be about to hatch out."

As he spoke, the top of that egg wriggled slightly, and the top layer began to split into four petals, slowly flipping down in all directions.

Fate was suddenly a little nervous and a little scared, he couldn't figure out how he could feel this way, by all accounts, newborn magical beasts were not aggressive.

"Just look and see what kind of magical beast it is." Fate couldn't help but take a few steps back.

"Oi." Johnsan sighed as the wraith then spawned and vanished into thin air.

"This one is an alien egg, and believe me, you'll regret it if you see what it looks like." Johnsan said in his mind.
