1 Transmigration

"I, Alpha Jake Ruiz, reject Sofia Alizo as my piece of soul and other half. May the Moon Goddess forgive me."

These are the words echoing in my mind as soon as I regain consciousness.

I don't know who the heck is Alpha Jake Ruiz. Alpha? The only 'alpha' I know is a reagent that enables life force from other planets to adapt to life in the Galaxy 163 Unit, a collective space city where all life forms meet as a transportation hub for commercial purposes.

Could 'alpha' be possibly a name? That will be one heck of a weird name.

And who is Sofia Alizo? Why will the Moon Goddess, a famous mythical god from ancient human civilization, be involved?

With more questions piling up in my groggy head, a reversed result happened—I sobered up.

Blinking away the last bit of sleepiness, I observed my surroundings with growing wonder.

White walls. White ceiling. An ancient-looking light. And the very familiar IV drip that I only saw in files is connected to my right hand.

I conclude that I am in a hospital right now.

Hypothesis drawn: I seem to be in a place with a big resemblance to the ancient infirmaries of the ancient human civilization.

Just as I struggled to pull off the needle, the door opened, and a tall figure strode in.

Another unknown piece of information came in…

The habit I have mastered due to my profession rolled in again. This time, my focus is the six-foot human male walking towards me with big strides.

He is wearing a tight black shirt, revealing his muscled body. The pants look worn out but it does not hide his long legs. His appearance, in comparison to the male species I know, is comparable to the ZF Galactic soldiers I often saw—murderous, oppressive, and with a hint of majestic dominance.

And for some reason, my heart throbs as if something inside me is intimately connected to this man.

Who is he?

Before I can observe further, the man is already standing by the bed, hovering over me domineeringly.

The next second, his rough-sounding voice resounded in the eerily quiet room as he asked, "How are you?" Though he is fierce-looking, his tone is soft which does not match to his gloomy look. No matter what, I feel deeply comforted by this question as 'I' am waiting for him to ask this to me.

These three words seem to hold a whole lot of meaning no matter how I listen to them.

No way! This person can't be the Jake Ruiz dude, right?

The man seemed to interpret my silence on his own. His big rough hand patted my head stiffly yet gently. "Don't worry. Big Brother will take you to this year's annual Yule Ball. I am sure my little sister can find someone better than that son of a bitch."

Big Brother? This guy is not Jake Ruiz?

Since when did I have a big brother? I was conceived in a tube by two advanced humans as an answer to the call of the Inter-Galactic Union! What the heck is going on?

For some reason, I am feeling extremely uneasy with the series of unknown pieces of information piling like a mountain in my mind.

I need to sort this situation out! But first, I have to solve this 'overly' concerned brother of mine.

Smiling sadly, I patted my brother's arm and said in a whispered voice, "Can I think things through alone? I… I need to be alone to regain my… integrity."

The man sighed, obviously distressed for his so-called younger sister. "I am one mind link away, Sofia. You are not alone. Remember that."

Pretending to be the 'good' little sister, I smiled weakly and nodded. The pale skin looks even sickly due to the lighting of the infirmary.

The big guy leaned toward me, grasped my head gently, and kissed my forehead. This series of actions shocked me so greatly that I remained petrified until I heard the 'click' sound of the door closing.

As someone who is not used to kinship, I feel extremely resistant to gestures like this. But I soon shelved this train of thought and focused on what's important.

With this in mind, I closed my eyes, relaxed my mind, and took a deep breath before I looked for the one thing that could help me answer these questions right now.

Big Data, also known as the collective brain, is an implanted chip on every life form born under the banner of the Inter-Galactic Union. With this, the daily necessity of the people of Interstellar is made easy.

From communicating from one planet to another to working, and eating, everything is connected to the brain which is commonly called Big Data.

As soon as I conjured up my personal Big Data, a greater shock welcomed me.

A familiar semi-transparent blue-colored dialogue box appeared before me.

[RESET INTERFACE TO CONTINUE.]

[RESET] [IGNORE]

Without a doubt, I chose the 'reset'.

In the blink of an eye, a needle-prick-like pain pierced through my brain before I succumbed to darkness while hearing the mechanical voice of Big Data's countdown.

From the darkness, I chased the only light, thinking that it could lead me out of this chilling darkness.

Oh, how wrong I am!

Now, it is my head that is buzzing and my heart is as cold as winter ice.

It turns out, I, Sofie Haley, have transmigrated in a mature-rated book titled "Claiming The Beast"! From Sofie Haley, the famous genetic engineer of the Inter-Galactic Union, to Sofia Alizo, the sickly younger sister of the book's villain!

Younger sister of the book's villain… Does that mean that the guy earlier, who looks rough yet gentle, is the infamous villain?

In summary, this book, which was displayed before me at the end of the tunnel, has a setting of Earth before the second Big Bang catastrophe arrived. In short, the setting is in the Year 2024, three hundred years before I was born in a tube millions of miles away from the Earth's surface.

In this book's plot, Sofia Alizo, to whom I transmigrated, died of depression right after experiencing the backlash of rejection from her supposed destined mate—Jake Ruiz, an alpha from the Ruiz Clan of the White Tiger Race.

Yes, White Tiger Race.

Because apparently, this book does not follow the real Year 2024. Though the civilization reflected is still the same, instead of humans as inhabitants of Earth, beastmen rule this world—which almost shocked me to death.

And now, as Sofia Alizo, I am the younger sister of the villain, a number one cannon fodder created by the book's creator to highlight the heroine's golden halo.

Golden halo my ass!
