44 Chapter 44.

Wang Feng reached into a pouch from his Soul Guidance Device, producing a hefty bag filled with golden soul coins and displayed it in front of the girl. The girl's expression underwent a swift change. For the first time in years, she had been rejected, leaving her deeply uncomfortable and angry.

"Are you a soul master?" she inquired, taking a deep breath and taming her fluctuating emotions.

"You must be one, to carry so many gold soul coins, right?"

The Soul Hall provided subsidies to soul masters. A 21st-level Soul Grandmaster received ten gold soul coins every month, making it a primary source of income for many Soul Masters up to the 40th level.

"You don't need to use ten months' worth of subsidy to compete with me in money," the girl remarked, her voice softening.

"If you're a soul master, we can be friends. By the way, I am an auxiliary system soul master."

Auxiliary Soul Masters were typically sought-after friends for their healing and support abilities, a fact well known among soul masters. The girl's confidence and charm would have attracted friendship even if she were not an auxiliary type soul master.

The girl examined the boy in front of her. He looked fit and very appealing to her taste. Offering such words of friendship was a rarity even for her. If the boy had been even slightly less attractive, she might not have even bothered to approach him in the first place.

The girl inquired further, her gaze intent, "Well then, what's your name?"

"My name is Wo," Wang Feng responded with a hint of mischief. "But you can call me Shagua."

(E/N: Wo Sha Gua means something like I'm idiot.)

"Shagua?" The girl's brow furrowed, finding the name rather odd. Nonetheless, she huffed and said, "Wo Shagua, I'll remember you."

After Wang Feng had his say, he made his way upstairs. Manager Wang, who had been listening in, couldn't help but chuckle.

"What's so funny?" the girl inquired.

"Uh, I just find the name amusing," Manager Wang replied, coughing a couple of times. He wondered who this young lady was to be so naive, asking for someone's name without introducing herself first. Was she some spoiled heiress of some big clan?

The girl regarded Manager Wang with an odd expression before quietly muttering the name to herself. Suddenly, something seemed to click. Her face flushed, her head seemed to swell, her hands clenched tightly, and she quivered with anger.

(E/N: Hahaha! 'I'm idiot, I'll remember you.' Hahahaha Wang Feng being savage.)

"You dare to play games with me, you jerk!" the girl exclaimed. She seemed ready to ascend the stairs but, after a brief thought, turned on her heel and said, "Very well... the next time Ning Rongrong sees you, you'll regret it. How dare you offend me! I'm very angry!"

The girl stomped her foot fiercely, her anger palpable. Then, she asked Manager Wang, "Are there any rooms available?"

"No... Miss, perhaps you should try other hotels?" Manager Wang suggested, his brow furrowed.

Ning Rongrong glared at him before turning to leave. She made her way out of the hotel, her mood clearly sour from the encounter.

Inside the room, Wang Feng stood by the window, watching the girl walk away. He shook his head and mused, "Meeting Ning Rongrong first... What an interesting character."

Turning away, he faced the pristine room, then laid down on the white bed. After a brief rest, he heard a knock at the door.

Opening it, he found Tang San and Xiao Wu standing outside.

"Brother Feng, Xiao San and I are going out for a stroll. Would you join us? Suotuo City is so huge, much larger than Nuoding City!" Xiao Wu said, brimming with enthusiasm as she practically dragged Tang San along.

"Sure, I'll come along. I'd like to explore too," Wang Feng agreed, relishing the warm sunshine on his skin. He felt the wind and the weather very pleasant.

The three of them strolled through the city, taking in the sights. After a short while, Tang San paused, looking at a shop in the distance. The shop's sign displayed a unique emblem, a sword, a hammer and a blue dragon.

"Xiao Wu, Brother Feng, I'd like to check that shop out," Tang San said, contemplating it for a moment before heading inside.

"Isn't that the symbol of the Soul Hall? I'll go take a look too," Xiao Wu added, following him.

Wang Feng chose to stay back. He knew that this shop was likely run by Shrek Academy's Dean, Flender.

After bidding Tang San and Xiao Wu farewell, Wang Feng continued his leisurely exploration of Suotuo City. The variety of shops and their wares left him in awe. The city truly felt like a bustling metropolis from his previous life.

Suddenly, as Wang Feng strolled along, he overheard a commotion up ahead.

"Give me my money back! Do you know who I am? You think you can cheat me? If you don't return it, you'll regret it!"

"Hey, little girl, I picked up this bag of Golden Soul Coins on the ground. You say it belongs to you and just like that it is yours? You call it to see if it agrees?"

Wang Feng observed the scene from a distance, amused by the unfolding situation. A young girl in a white skirt stood at the forefront, clearly furious, while two burly men with sly smiles on their faces held several bags of gold soul coins in their hands. The spirited girl was none other than Ning Rongrong.

"Isn't this girl Ning Rongrong?" someone in the crowd murmured, drawing hushed whispers from onlookers.

"Looks like this lucky lady dropped her money while shopping. Now she's trying to retrieve it but these two rascals, Zhang Si and Wang Wu, are giving her a hard time. Those two are known for their sly behavior and appearances in the Soul Arena..."

"It's quite unusual for Zhang Si and Wang Wu, two formidable soul masters, to hassle a young girl like this. Wonder what's going on."

Listening to the discussions around him, Wang Feng couldn't help but be entertained.

Ning Rongrong, despite her gentle appearance, was very prideful at heart. Faced with ruffians like this, she might endure their teasing but not without resistance. However, Wang Feng had no intention of intervening. A young lady like Ning Rongrong wouldn't travel alone without discreet supervision from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda clan. It was unlikely anything would happen to her.

Deciding to move on, Wang Feng turned away. At that moment, a pleasant fragrance wafted by as a white figure appeared before him.

"Brother, why are you here?" Ning Rongrong greeted him with surprise.

Wang Feng blinked, somewhat taken aback. Ning Rongrong had apparently noticed him before he had a chance to leave.

Now standing beside Wang Feng, Ning Rongrong firmly held his shoulders, turning to face the two men with an air of superiority.

"You scoundrels, you dare to snatch my money? My big brother is here now and he's a formidable auxiliary system soul master! He'll knock you both down in no time!"

Wang Feng was left speechless hearing this. 'What kind of auxiliary system soul master can knock two powerful battle system soul master in no time. What in the seven hell are you spouting such nonsense for?'

But he immediately stopped his thoughts after remembering he can literally do it as an auxiliary system soul master but he doesn't count.

Was this little girl holding a grudge against him?

Ning Rongrong had noticed Wang Feng earlier as he was about to leave. With quick reflexes, she had made her way to him.

"Hahaha... An auxiliary system soul master you say? Little beauty, your elder brother might be an auxiliary system soul master but you think he can take down two attack system soul masters like us?" one of the men, Wang Wu, chuckled. He was a 22-year-old, 23rd-level attack system soul master with a Praying Mantis martial soul.

The other man, Zhang Si, was also 22 years old but a 24th-level attack system soul master with a unique plant type martial soul. Together, they were known as the Flying Mantis duo in the Soul Arena.

"I don't believe it!" Ning Rongrong said with a sly glint in her eye, still feisty.

"If you've got what it takes, take on my big brother!"

The surrounding crowd burst into laughter.

"Boy, are you really her elder brother?" Wang Wu grinned. "Come over here. If you can defeat one of us today, I'll return her money. You might have a pretty face but after I'm done with you, it'll swell up like a pig real nice."

Wang Feng surveyed the two men and retorted, "I don't know her. If you want to fight, go ahead. No need to throw a barrage of punches, one should do the trick."

Wang Feng brushed off Ning Rongrong's hand and stepped away, stating, "Get lost. I don't know you!"

Ning Rongrong's face fell, perplexed by his sudden dismissal.

This guy had teased her at the Rose Hotel and now he was acting like they had no connection? She had half a mind to drag him into this mess too.

"Big brother, I promise I'll never disobey you again," Ning Rongrong feigned a pitiful look and whispered, "They bullied me, and you're just going to walk away?"

"That brother of yours is spineless," Wang Wu commented, his grin unwavering.

"Your little sister's getting bullied and you're just going to leave her behind? What kind of man are you? Come on, step up and hit me three times. I'll return the money just for that."
