5 Chapter 5: Water Source

I look at the massive mansion, or what it used to be, and sign tiredly.

There are many things that need to be done, but it is still standing and is not full of holes. It just looks old but still good. I look at my people and say.

"Take care of the mansion for me. Sebastian! Do you know where the nearby water source is? We need them immediately."

Sebastian nods and swiftly takes out a map.

[Sebastian IMG]

Sebastian and I look at the map for a few seconds before he points his finger at a certain area.

[Map IMG]

"This. There should be another oasis in this area. It is dangerous because monsters are roaming around, and the Lord did not build a village in this area because it is on the border between the two kingdoms, and it will create an international problem."

I look at the area he points at and nod.

"How long does it take to get there from here?"

"It should only take us a few hours to get there."

"Good. I think some of the servants are former carpenters, right?"

"Yes, young master."

"Good."

I take out a card from my card inventory before tearing it apart, and suddenly, a stack of logs appears next to the mansion.

"This is…"

"My blessing. Ask the carpenter to make a giant barrel that can hold a large amount of water. Also, tell the others to make the horses rest because I need them to be ready tomorrow."

"What are you going to do, young master?"

"I want to get water from that place. I will go there tomorrow in the morning and get water for us."

"It is dangerous, young master! I cannot let you do that! Let us do it for you!"

"What? And just sitting down doing nothing?! No! I'm not that kind of person. If you want to come, then come with me but don't stop me. You are my people, my companion, and it is my duty to ensure you are happy and well-protected. So don't stop me from doing my duty."

Sebastian looks at me for a few seconds and bows his head.

"Of course, my lord. I'm sorry for trying to stop your duty."

"Lord?"

Instead of answering me, Sebastian only smiles and walks away from me.

Urgh. Why can't they answer my question? I started to question whether taking them here was the right choice. Oh, well.

I look at the logs and the servant cleaning the place. I'm tired and bored. I look at the dead tree, and an idea comes to life.

It is time to test my new power, [White Mage]. I walk toward the dead tree and put my hand on it. My power is already feeding me that it is an almost dead tree. It is still alive, but just barely. I don't know how it is still alive, but I did not question it.

"Let there be life, [Full Recovery]."

This is one of the twelve spells of [White Mage] I got from the system. It is the most powerful healing spell that heals anything into its one hundred percent state. When I have a higher mana, it can even revive a recently dead person.

However, at the current me…

I fall to the ground, panting. I hear the servant screaming and kneeling beside me, asking if I'm okay.

"Don't worry about it. I'm okay. I just use almost all my mana to restore that tree."

Sebastian arrives and looks at the tree and me before saying.

"How?"

"My blessing, Sebastian. Just like I said, I will heal this place even if it will take me one piece of the time, but I will make sure to restore it. For now, it is one tree, but later, I will make sure this place becomes lush in green, where it will be a paradise for you all! I swear it in the name of Arma!"

Sebastian smiles at me and says.

"You stupid lord. Any place where you are with us will always be our paradise. As long as you are healthy, we are content. Just make sure that you are still healthy. Looking at you like this makes us worry, you know?"

"Heh. Fair enough."

While eating some bread and soup inside my room, I press the Y button in front of me and see a card appear in front of me.

I take the card and read it.

"[A Dozen of Gold Blocks] [Common]... Dammit! I don't need gold! I need something useful for me at the moment. Depending on the size of the gold block, I know this will be useful, but not at the moment. I need water."

I release a sigh and store the card inside my inventory.

At least I know that one block will be huge or at least big enough to create a lot of money. Take the wooden logs, for example. It is twelve meters long and half a meter thick in diameter. Yup, that big.

The servant, a former carpenter, says he can build a new house if I order him to, but we still need some tools to do it because we already spend most of the iron to make barrels. We have already disassembled the carriage to harvest the iron to make the hoop to hold the barrel together. We also use the wood from the carriage to be a fuel for our ancient life, which we make from the stones around us. It is not the best, but it is good enough to make a hoop.

Wait! I can use the gold to make tools.

It will not be the best, but at least we can make it. I'm lucky that there is a blacksmith among the servants I bring because a lord needs their personal blacksmith, or at least that is what my father said.

I will ask the blacksmith if he can make tools with that amount of gold. I shake my head and think about that later. For now, I need to gather that water.

I leave my room and give the servant the dirty plate before leaving the mansion. I can see eight people waiting for me. When I get closer, Sebastian looks at me and says.

"My lord! We are ready to depart."

"Really? Good. We will depart immediately."

"Of course!"

After a quick check, we are departing to the oasis to the west.

"Protect the lord!"

"Take care of yourself, you idiot! O' Light! Protect us from harm! [Heaven Shield]!"

I cast a spell that protects all of us, including the horse, as we are fighting against a horde of lizard-like monsters that are rushing toward us.

I take out my dagger to protect myself if they are coming closer while ensuring the other does not get too much injury.

However, I still need to save my mana, which is why I want those idiots to take care of themselves and not only focus on protecting me. We continue to fight for a few minutes, and only one monster is left.

"That is the last one! One last swing!"

I shout, and my bodyguard charges at the lizard-like monster with their weapons. The monster releases one last roar before falling down to the ground.

"Circle of gods, heal us! [Mass Heal]!"

Magic circles appear underneath us and heal us all. It even restores some of our stamina. I look at Sebastian, who is holding a map, and says.

"How much longer before we arrive?"

"It should be behind this sand dune, my lord."

I nod, and we continue to walk. As we arrive on the sand dune, I can see a small oasis full of plants and life in front of us. I smile a little, and we quickly run toward the oasis. As we get closer, I can see my companion's smile turn into a frown because the water is dirty.

It's too dirty to be able to drink.

I smile at them and say.

"Don't worry, leave it to me."

I walk toward the small lake and take a deep breath.

"Clean us from our sin! [Purification]!"

My spell takes action, and suddenly, the entire lake changes. The dirty and muddy water turns into transparent and clean water. I stagger a little and almost fall if not for Sebastian holding me. I ignore his worried expression and look at the rest of my companions.

"What are you guys waiting for?! Fill that barrel with water! We will bring them back to the village! Also, someone needs to butcher the monsters we encounter. We need their meat. Go! Go! Go!"

With this, we are one step closer to our goal. Creating a heaven in this hellish place.
