Episode-16 || "The queen of stupidity"

"Good job, Henry!", David acclaimed his intern, smiling and staring at the balanced sheet on his desktop." So, this month's affairs of the company are perfect. The decision-making committee too must get an appraisal", added he. His whitish face shined like the moon of the pitch dark sky, as he had worn a black suit that morning.

The two men stood on either side of the table. Books related to the subject of accounting occupied all the shelves behind David. There were big glass doors on either side standing by which the entire office could be seen. David suddenly turned at Henry and frowned at the way he smiled to himself, texting someone on phone.

"Henry, what's your problem? Listen to me!", shouted David, grabbing a pen from his pen stand and throwing it at him. Henry took his hand behind to hide his phone." Taking a friendly boss for granted? That's why I hesitate to be friendly with juniors like you", added David, frowning at his intern whose goosebumps were on his hands were clearly evident then.

"Sorry, sir. I was talking to my gf..shit!sorry, I mean my roommate. I was chatting with my roommate regarding the key...", apologized he, trying to divert. His boss grinned and laughed, as his body too shook along."I know that your roommate is none other than your lovely girlfriend!", exclaimed he, admitting his knowledge.

"Oh!", exclaimed Henry, looking away from David and blushing at the table. He turned back and justified, "I was scared to take the word 'girl-friend' in front of you once again...You were hurt the last time...so..."

As he dragged, David sat back on his seat, leaned, and smiled, interrupting, "Chill man.I was depressed the other day. I was missing my ex very much."

"Sorry to hear about it, sir. Where is she now? Let me talk to her and sort it out...", consoled the sweet Henry.

"Buttering your boss?", asked David, laughing at him. Henry shook his head, at which David revealed, "She is no more. She died five years ago."

"I am very sorry, again", apologized Henry, as David continued, "So, I got frustrated as you kept repeating the word."

"So, don't you miss her anymore?", questioned the curious junior.

"Yes, I do", nodded David, adding, "But, I found a beautiful girl who too is in the same boat as me. She lost her ex five years ago."

"Wow! I feel happy for you, boss", complimented Henry, patting his shoulder. David thanked him, concluding, "So, I feel that we can be a perfect match. Need to propose to her!"

"Congrats, sir!", cheered Henry, like a young boy cheering the country's team during a cricket match." Who is she? You gotta tell me...come on!", cheered he.

"David", shouted an angry female voice. They turned behind to see Sienna barge into the cabin.

"Is she your girl?", asked the excited Henry, complimenting her, "Nice! She is a chef and is beautiful too! Good choice, boss."

David got up from his seat and frowned at her who shrugged at Henry, enquiring, "What the good choice? What are you telling?"

"No way! It's not her...It can never be her. She is the queen of stupidity", refused David.

"Huh! You are stupid, Mr.David Miller", argued Sienna, grabbing his collar. He released himself and gestured at the door, asking her to go away.

"You ruined our bar's business", yelled Sienna, grabbing his collar again and asking, "Who the hell asked you to save me that night? Since then customers have stopped coming fearing you."

Henry's eyeballs rolled from Sienna to David and back to her. He slowly grabbed the file from the table, seeing both bulging their eyes and frowning at each other, and rushed out of the cabin.

"What!", exclaimed David, shrugging, "So, are you fine to get raped? No problem with it? I protected you. You must thank and celebrate me..."

"I know how to protect myself", interrupted Sienna.

"Oh really?", mocked David, chuckling and pointing out, "But I didn't see you doing anything that night. You were only requesting those goons to leave you as if they would!"

"In a minute,I was about to defend myself. We were taught a handful of self-defense tips before taking charge as a waiter at the night bar. Even guys working there are trained..everyone was trained...", she continued arguing.

David caught her waist and pulled her closer. She breathed hard as he looked into her eyes. She recollected him kissing her the last night and tried to release herself. He held her firmer and asked, "Nancy, don't I have the right to save you? If not me, who will protect you? Tell me...Don't leave me again.."

Sienna released herself as he shrank his eyes a bit and with tears, continued, "Nancy, I saved you yet why aren't you happy? You are alive today and are standing in front of me because of my timely arrival otherwise I might have lost you again.

"Nancy Nancy Nancy! Can you please shut up, David? How many times should I remind you that I am Sienna? Forget it!", yelled she. She concluded, "Fix my business otherwise my manager will fire me."Tears flooded her eyes as she slid along the glassy wall on her right and sat down.

She sobbed and joined her hands, requesting, "Please fix what you have ruined, David. My dream is to build my dream house which also has a piano studio in it. I must give up on it for a few more years if I lose my job. Lastly, stop calling me Nancy.I am Sienna for your kind information. Nancy is dead. Why don't you realize?"

He sat down beside her and caught her cheeks. He frowned as her shy eyes shivered and she gulped her fear."Shut up, Sienna. I see Nancy in you. For your kind information, she is not dead. She is living in you. At least I know that and it's enough. Don't you ever say again that she is no more. She is still alive in my heart and is also living in your body."

"What nonsense? What's wrong with you?", shouted Sienna. She pushed him and ran towards the door. It slid open but she didn't step out. She turned back at David and confessed, with her hesitant eyes, "Yes, you were right. Nancy is alive in me."
