Volume 6 Chapter 8

"Your chakra coils have been damaged. Especially the coils near your heart. Although, they are not damaged very badly. But still it will take time to recover. At least three months. So I forbid you from using any chakra for next three months. If you do, then your heart might get damaged. So... I don't need to tell you the consequences." Tsunade's words were cold and unforgiving. I have never imagined that I would end up like this.

"I understand. How much severe it is ?" I asked her.

Tsunade sighed.

"That chakra was very corrosive. It has damaged your pathways. But to be accurate, it has done greater damage to your inner gates. Now your body is in such a state that a little use of chakra might open your gates.

But the most damaged one will open first. Which is the gate of death.

I could have tried to heal it directly. But a little use of chakra might destroy your already fragile chakra pathways." Tsunade explained.

"Is that why my entire body is aching ?"

"No those were the damage to your chakra system.

As per other damages, the blood vessels near your heart have damaged. I am not sure how much damage has happened.

Although I have healed the other parts partially, but there will be some after effects.

We will wait till you naturally heal your chakra pathways and inner gates first.

After that I will do the further inspection.

I don't know if they are permanent or not." Tsunade told me.

"*Sigh* So now I am a dead weight ?"

"Yes. But if you take it easy then there is a great chance that you will be able to return to duties eventually." Tsunade said to me.

"I understand." I nodded.

Tsunade nodded back and left the room.

"I will wait for you in the training ground." Jiraya told Naruto and left the room as well.

So it was only Naruto and me left in the room.

"Listen to me. This is the first major hurdle infront of me. So I want to cross it alone." I told Naruto without looking at his eyes.

In response he just clenched his fist.

"*Sigh* What's gone is gone. So don't worry about me and focus on your own training."

I tried to reassure him.

"Promise me you will be okay."

"I will be."

Meditation and calm mind that were the two things Tsunade suggested the most.

So I did just that.

Naruto returned to his training after two days of stay in Konoha.

During this lone time I often spent my time in my mindscape. It was a unique experience for me once. It allowed me to spend time near Gyuki.

I promised him to talk about my past life.

And we did.

It was a new experience.

Finally he agreed to help me and co operate with me in the future.

We agreed that I will start the training on his chakra after I heal completely.

After a week, I was able to move normally. So instead of ninja business I focused on my real business.

Although it was going smoothly even without my direct supervision, it wasn't developing much. Although my designs of sealing scrolls and exploading tags were still the most popular, there was nothing new in the market.

So in these next three months I focused on providing new ideas to my seal making employees. Most of them were retired chunins who have the basic knowledge of sealing and wanted a steady income.

They were no inovators or developers.

But with some new ideas, they managed to develop a new type of storage seal that can preserve food at their peak condition. It even manage to seal it's temperature. It hasn't much practical use. But it became popular between jonins as they could afford it. Who doesn't want a warm meal in between their work ?"

Three and half months passed away in a blink of an eye.

"I have a good news and a bad news.

Which one you would like to hear first ?" Tsunade said me frowning.

"....Good news ?" I wasn't liking this condition at all.

"Alright, you have no permanent injuries in your chakra coils. There are some internal injuries. But nothing out of healing program. A surgery will be enough. So technically you will have no problem if you continue your job."

Tsunade said to me.

"And the bad new ?" I didn't like the good news. Because there were too many uncertainty in her words.

"Your artery was damaged. It had healed before. Otherwise you wouldn't have survived.

At first I thought that it was because of your status as Jinjuriki. But I wasn't sure.

So I did some tests. Your cells have natural regenerative abilities almost like grandpa first's. But when it was exposed to that demon's chakra, it lost it's powers.

It has barely healed. Just enough for your survival. I can patch it up with a surgery. But it won't be good as new. So you will face problems in future.

Every cell in and near your heart have lost their healing capabilities."

She let her words settle for a bit before continuing.

"As I said there are a few internal injuries. Some internal bleeding . But they are manageable with a surgery or two.

So this Friday I will do your heart surgery first.

Then next week there will be other surgeries depending on your test results."

I nodded my head.

Absorbing Satori was the most stupid decision I have ever taken.

If I had gotten this kind of injuries in my previous world I would have been already dead.

But I knew that even with Tsunade's healing I won't survive long. A wound in artery is a severe problem. Especially when your job demands to fight.

Sasuke was right. In these conditions I won't survive the fourth great shinobi war.

Tsunade performed total three surgeries. All of them succeded.

But for next three months I was tasked with light missions which didn't demand any heavy physical task.

Being in peaceful time helped as well.

That's how almost a year was passed without me even improving a little.
