Volume 6 Chapter 4

After exchanging the scrolls from our respective villages, we finally we were ready to depart. Total of 6 jonins from two hidden villages. It was afternoon when after lunch we started our journey towards east. All in all it was a peaceful journey of 6 hours. We reached the port town around 9:00 p.m.

"We should stay in the town for tonight. There is a ship that will go in the direction of summoning Island tomorrow at 6:00 a.m." Dodai spoke to us. I had some similar thoughts in mind. But I asked him a question.

"I am not against resting for tonight but shouldn't we take our own boat towards the island ? I am sure that there will be some who will be ready to rent there boat away."

"You are right. In normal circumstances, we should have taken a personal boat for such an important mission. But we don't have the exact location of the summoning island. All we know that it is twelve miles to the north east of shirokage island. And the sea route to the shirokage island is not easy without sailing experience. That's why I suggest we travel there by any merchant ships." Dodai explained.

"I understand. We will rest tonight and leave tomorrow morning." I told my teammates.

After finding an inn, we ate dinner and finally went to rest. The rest that might not available in our journey.

Little did I know that our journey in the seas is going to be far more dangerous than I thought.

Zetsu has released Satori, the demon sealed away by the sage of six paths. He didn't know that he did the right thing or not. Frankly speaking Satori isn't that powerful but still it is a chance to confirm his doubts against the girl. If she was able to defeat him effortlessly and seal him away then he has to change his plans. He cannot late an unknown factor risk his millennia old plot.

Releasing Satori wasn't easy at all. He had to pull many strings in the background to pull it off. And besides controlling Satori won't be easy. Ofcourse, he has taken many counter measures if something goes wrong. He saw the demon tearing apart the prison and it's prisoners . Blood splattered everywhere . It was a massacre. Zetsu waited for the right moment to reveal himself.

In his palm the controlling lock for Satori's seal.

He has to deal with it very carefully. No one, not even Obito knew about his plans. Although Satori can't kill him, he has to deal with it carefully. One single mistake and it might backfire.

"Satori ! Hello there"

The demon turned to Zetsu. It's glowing red eyes stared into his own golden eyes.

"What do you have here ? You are not human. What are you ?"

"Pleasure to meet you, Satori. I am black Zetsu. And I am here to do some business with you."

Zetsu revealed the controlling lock. And as soon as Satori saw it, he rushed towards it with an incredible speed.

But he failed to catch the lock. The only thing that can possibly seal him away again.

Zetsu retreated to the ground, merging inside it.

Then he appeared on the bark of a tree.

Satori attacked him again. But Zetsu disappeared into the tree. With a punch it's destroyed the tree but couldn't found the creature that has the permanent key to It's freedom. The game of cat and mouse went on for a while. Finally Satori gave up and decided to do business with Zetsu.

"Fine ! you win I will listen whatever you say." Satori said to Zetsu.

A smile creeped to the face of black Zetsu.

"Now that's what I like to hear. So here is the deal..."

The merchant ship wasn't very big. But it didn't contain many passengers in it it. Only some cargo and a few passengers. The group of six shinobi went onboard.

Open enquiring from the captain of the ship, I found out that it will take us about 4 days to reach shirokage island. It usually takes three days to reach the island. But due to the new moon, the tides will be higher and it will be harder in the ocean.

It was a good thing that I didn't inherit the sea sickness from my last life. Otherwise it could have been a disaster for me.

Even in a joint mission, there weren't much interaction between kumo and konoha teams.

The first day went on without a hitch.

At night after dinner, I went to the deck to enjoy the moon light filled ocean at night.

But, Yugito had similar intentions.

"What's your favourite thing in kumo ? I mean what do you love about it the most ?" I asked her trying to start a conversation.

"... The high mountains and watching the scenery from top of them." She answered.

"Umm... I... actually asking about the food." I asked.

"Hmmm ? Beef ?" She asked back.

"What's yours by the way ?"

"Ramen....and dumplings."

"I didn't mean food.* Chuckle*" She smiled lightly.

"Oh ! I like watching scenery from the top of the Hokage mountain."

"Thank you.... For saving the life of Bee."

"I I was just doing my duties. So no need to thank me. But I appreciate it."

With a curt nod she ended our conversation. After enjoying the breeze for a while she went back to the quarters. I stayed out for a while longer finally returning inside.

The second day was a bumpy ride. The day was fine, but during night time due to high tides, the ship went much slower compared to the previous day. Not to mention the rocking brought back some of the symptoms of my sea sickness.

Thankfully we didn't encounter any other problems after that day. On the fourth day however our ship crossed path with a pirate ship. Among them were three chunin level pirates. But those were dealt with ease. We arrived in shirokage Island around noon. So after having lunch Dodai called for another meeting.
