19 Entering the Gate

"Well then, if you want to go, then I also have some conditions." Jun Shang said as he suppressed his laughter and put on a serious face. 

"Meow?" <What is it?>

"I don't know if there would be some monster rats or three tailed pigs, or even hundred eyed fish, if they run to eat you, don't blame me." Jun Shang shrugged his shoulders as he spilled the words nonchalantly. 

He was purposefully trying to scare her so that she won't go, but contrary to what he Imagined, when Jun Shang looked down at the kitten, her eyes were already glowing in excitement. 

'If it's like that, then this would be a more of a reason of why she must visit that place!'

"Meow, meow, meow!" <Take me, take me!>

Seeing that the kitten got even more excited, Jun Shang could only sigh and take her along.

"Fine, but there are some rules, if you don't abide by them, then I'll just throw you inside the gate and won't get you back!" Jun Shang threatened the black cat, only to get a cute reaction out of her.

The kitty tilted her hair to the side, blinking her eyes like a naive child as she looked at Jun Shang. 

"... ... "

"Haaaa…" Jun Shang facepalmed himself after he almost melted in that cuteness.

'That was CHEATING, alright?'

No matter what he did, Jun Shang wasn't able to get a cute reaction out of this kitty till now. And now, she was doing it to win over him!

'Being cute was simply a serious crime!'

"Fine, fine, I'll take you there. I won't go back on my words." 

After getting what she wanted, Yun Xi was in cloud nine as she rubbed her small head on Jun Shang's chest. 

'What was shame? Could it be eaten? Or can it give back her original form?'

Therefore, Yun Xi was prepared to become as shameless as she can, if it means achieving her own goals.

And just like that, she was sitting over Jun Shang's shoulder in front of the Gate.

Everyone has already taken the necessary items and area measurements before they came here, prepared with all sorts of weapons and ready to walk inside.

The regiment Jun Shang ruled as a Commander was armed with weapons such as dagger, knives, swords and such, while for the others gun, cannon, machine gun and missile etc.

Since their weaponries were different from others, they were getting a different attention from others.

"Commander Jun, could you come to the side for a moment?" the Major General called Jun Shang to talk about something in a different place, where the crowd was less than other places.

"Yes, Sir." Jun Shang saluted him before following from behind.

Yun Xi didn't have a good feeling about this conversation, but she didn't say anything as she was also following the guy. 

"So, tell me about something. Commander, the weapons that we delivered in the camp, was it not enough? What's wrong with your weapons?" The guy was speaking in a strict voice, trying to suppress Jun Shang with his heavy aura.

'Hmm… is this the so-called suppression from the superiors? Wow, so exciting! Where is my popcorn!'

Yun Xi became excited after she saw the drama unfolding before her eyes, it was really worth a spectacle to see!

Because she wasn't worried about this sharp edge cutting knife and poison spewing tongued man, Yun Xi was in her best mood to watch the drama as she quivered over his shoulder in excitement. 

"Also, what's wrong with you taking a pet cat with you inside the Gates? Do you think you have enough time to care about that thing when you are responsible for the soldiers under your command?!" 

Jun Shang was hearing everything in silence from first till last, without saying anything, though Yun Xi did notice that with every word coming out of that stinking mouth, Jun Shang's face hardened little by little.

"Sir, you don't need to worry. I'm well aware of my duty and responsibility, and I'll abide by that. Thank you for your instructions." With a few sentences, Jun Shang bowed towards the Major as he saluted him then left the place without looking back. 

Yun Xi turned around her head as she saw the dumbfounded look on the old man's face, and stuck out her tongue to mock him before she vanished behind the wall.

"Meow?" <Hey, are you alright?>

Jun Shang didn't say anything as he only rubbed her back and strode towards his platoon. 

"Get ready, we are going inside." 

"Yes, Sir!" The soldiers were ready standing with their backs straight, eyes shining with confidence and belief.

All of them had firm belief in Jun Shang, But in Yun Xi's eyes, this belief was considered as a burden for Jun Shang to carry on his neck, taking all the responsibilities by himself.

In front of everyone, they marched forward and vanished inside the Gate one by one.

Yun Xi was wandering with wide eyes looking around everywhere inside the dungeon, it looked like a thousand year old cave, nothing attractive. 

The ground beneath their feet was cold and slippery, but at the same time firm and moist.

It won't break down with weights from the soldiers, not until a worm-like monster appears from beneath. 

"The Gate closed already, we are going to live in this dungeon for the next ten days. Assemble the necessary materials, we will live here temporarily and another team will explore the inside." Jun Shang gave out instructions to his soldiers as he put down the big and long heavy bag from his back.

Since he already knew that something like that will happen and he will get into argument with senior commander's, he thought of this idea to get the sword inside his long batton bag and carried it by himself.

Other's didn't notice the difference becaue of the short time they pssed outside, as they purposefully came on the sight as the last batch.
