Life before the apocalypse. (Liu)

Liu sat up on his bed. He looked around and spotted his old phone he used to have. He grabbed it and saw the date. October, 3 2020. 2 days before the apocalypse.

He looked out his window, it was the afternoon and people were working,shopping, and eating. Liu teared (I don't understand this word...is it tear as in break? Or tear as in crying?...sigh it means the crying version. -Koru) up.

Most of these people are going to die after the apocalypse. Liu made a silent resolution to save all these people. Then, Liu tried to use his ability [Adaptation]. [Adaptation] was an OP ability that allowed the user to adapt to their surroundings or environment.

Humans and animals could adapt too, but [Adaptation] can strengthen the progress. Like a boy who grew up his entire life in the cold had high resistance against the cold. Liu would only have to spend a month in order to gain that amount of resistance to the cold.

His ability was better at fighting though, when Liu was fighting a speed mutant. His ability helped him speed himself up and have a faster reaction time. However, the downside is that if Liu were to slack off. His ability would make it easier to slack off.

Example: He took a long time to go to sleep. Ability would kick in and make it easier to sleep, that would make dangerous situations. (Something like this, Kist didn't know how to explain it. -Koru)

Liu tried to form the grayish misty fog that came with the ability. Ability users could create fog that's related to their powers. [Adaptation] has no attribute so it was grey.

Liu didn't feel anything, so he tried again. No fog. Would his powers awakening during the apocalypse? Liu was thinking deeply, but then remembered he had to get food.

Now, Liu wasn't really that good off. But he wasn't that poor either. All of his savings would be able to buy at least 2-3 months of food, depending on the price. The apocalypse lasted many years, so 2-3 months isn't enough.

Liu thought about it more, but then he just headed towards the local grocery store. There, the employee greeted him nicely.

"Hello, do you have anything specific you want?" Asked the brown haired teenager.

"Can I order canned beans, energy bars, dried plums, and raisins in bulk?" Liu asked.

"Well how much do you want to order each?"

"Eh..15 pounds for beans and 10 for the rest of them."

The employee looked a bit surprised, but they managed to get it done. Liu then asked the girl to come closer. The girl, confused why went closer.

"I'm going to say something important ok?" Liu said softly.

The girl, a bit nervous said,"W-What?"

"In 2 days, stay at home. Don't let anyone who comes knocking in, even if they plead for help. If you see green things wandering around, aim for their head. Also, stock pile on some food that can last you."

The girl was stunned, and was about to say something. But Liu walked away. The girl thought that the man was crazy, but the girl took the advice just in case. When the apocalypse came, she took the man's advice and managed to survive the zombies...

After Liu got home, he started planning out on how to ration things. He should probably eat everything in his fridge... but Liu followed his temptations and went outside to eat.

He picked a random restaurant and was practically inhaling the food. All the people there were giving him weird looks, but Liu just continued to enjoy himself.

"Ahh, that hits the spot!" Liu patted his bulging belly.

He played and then went back home. He was planning on resting, but then thought of Ru's real name. Hazel Usof.... Liu looked it up and nothing special popped up. He sighed and gave up after a few hours.

"Hmmm...where are you Hazel?..." He muttered.

At the same time, Hazel who was in her room reading books. Felt a chill run down her back.

"Eeeh..what was that?" She thought. She then continued reading.
