Chapter 1: The Evolution

300 years ago, multiple meteorites struck different parts of the Earth. It causes multiple unexplainable calamities such as typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, drought, wildfires, tornadoes, blizzards and even an epidemic, that wiped out 80% of the world's human population. 5 years later, the ramifications of the calamities can be seen with all the changes it brought upon. Newfound minerals, plants, animals, insects and various monster-like creatures have been discovered, it's to the point where the old minerals, plants, and species have gone extinct, but above all of that, there are two discoveries that top them all. The return of Pangea, and the human mutations. Humans grew animals and insects-like limbs. Some became as large as an elephant, grew necks as long as a giraffe, wings that are similar to butterflies, and some grew femurs like an insect ----- while the discovery of Pangea emerges a huge question "Why is the Pangea smaller than how it's supposed to be?".

"The Evolution". That's the name of the book I just read. All events that happened 300 years ago up until now are all listed here in this 3,326 paged book. The recently discovered minerals, plants and species... Record of the mutated species... The names of new locations found in the continent... The reason why there are two kingdoms... The war that happened between the Almn Kingdom and the Insen Kingdom... The treaty between the two kingdoms... Names of the former kings and queens of both kingdoms and the reason as to how humans went from having presidents to now having king and queen once again.

"Darling hurry it up with that steak... And Rei, bring this to Ms. Alice's table" auntie Emma shouted. "Yes ma'am/Auntie" uncle Caspian and I replied.

I'm Rei Burrows, I'm 19 years old and I'm an Amano Shrimp. These two are my uncle and aunt, Caspian Canz and Emma Canz. They run a small pub and I'm also working there. They also run an inn where we reside along with their children who are like my cousins, Camie Canz and Eleanor Canz. Uncle and Camie are both Coconut Crabs, while auntie and Eleanor are Purple Rock Crabs. Why am I telling you this you say? Like what I mentioned, the disasters 300 years ago caused mutations ----- and it's not just any normal mutations. The animals and insects DNA fuses with that of humans, causing a lot of changes on how humans breed. The bird-like creatures and other oviparous human creatures lay eggs, while the viviparous human creatures conceive infants. Some babies are already mutated the moment they are born, like having antennas and mandibles, while some are going through mutations throughout their childhood, and reaching their final forms at the age of 10. I'm one of the children who went through mutation at their childhood, and you can observe it as I slowly grew my antenna back then. Additionally, most people have the ability to transform a certain body part into that of the body part of the species they fused with.

"Eat your vegetables Eleanor" auntie strictly commanded as she eat her carrots "Yes mom" Eleanor replied while pouting her lips.

"Oh right. Rei you're going to leave next week right?" Camie hurriedly mention.

"Yeah! I'm going to the Lair next week" I replied.

"Where are you going Rei?" Eleanor curiously asked. "I'm going to go serve the Lair Ellie" I replied while I chuckle looking at her cute face. "Why do you need to do that? Can't you just stay here?".

"Haha... Well everyone needs to do it once they turn 19. Uncle and Auntie did it. Camie also did it and now it's my turn. One day, you'll be doing this as well Ellie" I smirked as I carefully inform her. 

"Hmmm? Can I not just do it? It sounds pretty tiring" she replied as she left out a deep sigh. "Haha... Well indeed it is, but we need to do this in case some bad guys shows up so we can defeat them and keep everyone safe"

"Ummm... Ok then, but you have to be careful ok?" she said as she plead me to stay safe. "Ok! Ok! Now eat your veggies HAHAHAHA!!!" I laugh while looking at my auntie who's observing how Ellie separates her vegetables.
